Couple things that will help.....don't handle filler rod with bare hands, don't remove filler from Argon envelope while it's hot. You can brush oxides off tubing before continuing bead.

Thanks for your encouragements and the advises.
Your ZTA is too large. It's 10mm max.
The pin holes are there for a few reasons I saw. You're going too slow, your arc is too long at the same place at the end, your tungsten tip is maybe not the right shape including the top shape. I polish my tungsten tips and it makes all the difference. And at the end, instead of staying at the same place to make a hole, I do a spirale while getting away slowly from the too close distance to help stop the arc faster than my foot on the pedal.
Excuse my English, it's not my first language.
    Cheers 😉

Why are you not wearing a cotton glove on your feed hand?! You discuss using acetone and not touching the tube after you clean it to prevent transferring oils, but you are putting your oils all over your filler. I weld titanium most days and you are spot on with the straw color and cleanliness otherwise. We, in aviation, have very strict tolerances and you discuss your shop in the video. I get the impression you try to go above and beyond which is great but this is a very simple step, SAFETY WISE TOO, to just toss out. The weldment looked great and I'm not trying to bust balls but I couldn't watch and not mention this. Thanks for the video!!!

  • @jonahhoward2772

You only need a 10 second post flow if you have a trailer running behind for the gas coverage.... you also only need to bump up the Argon. to the same gas flow as the torch. Your torch is working way too hard.....! gas flow should not be that high, and neither should amperage....

Bunch of misinformation in the first few minutes of this video.First off you don’t run 1/2 your cup diameter you can run the full diameter of your cup and second you don’t need to hold you post flow over a tack for 15 seconds, once the red glow is gone plus a few more seconds to cool off and you can move on without getting color. running 1/2 inch at a time is ridiculous, I use a #16 cup (1”) and run 1” beads with no discoloration, if you know how to balance amps/travel speed to get the right heat input you won’t get colors and sitting over a tack for 15 seconds is a complete waste of argon. Should you wait for 15 seconds of post flow after a full bead? Absolutely you should but that 1” bead needs A LOT more time to cool than a single tack. Thought this channel would have better info. I’m disappointed
