As someone whom really likes the Death Knight from WoW, this video is just what I needed! Thank you for taking the time to share it.

Cool! back in my day I tried to make a warrior/necro build too...but it just didn't made the cut. Maybe I'll give a try at yours.

Me personal favorite for W/N back in the day was axe, tactics and Grenth's Balance. I remember using that to solo Glint. I just started playing again, and also want to do some challenge runs. Hit me up sometime if you want to theorycraft or try some things: Van Wark

    - self healing is not worth taking. heroes do a great job at this. Unless you are really early in game and you must.
    - I would focus on skills that bring more damage.
    - Also would I would focus on not single target damage.
    - also prefer full packets of damage over degen
    - optionally look for something that increases the damage done by the weapon, something + dmg on hit
    - wells are not good as you need a corps that means it's already in mid to late in the fight. so you have very little time left for the end. and degen wells need time to do damage. so the fight ends and they do very little damage. Better use putrid explosion, single packet of damage, more damage, and lower recharge. Optionally pair it with putrid bile.
The only skills worth taking from N for war are: MoP, Putrid Explo, and perhaps somehting situational like anti enchantments and anti blocking. All of those can be used great by heroes too, except MoP so that's the only one really. MoP is also not really *that* good, long recharge, causes scatter, low range just adjacent, it does not really work in casual pve, needs more structured pulling and balling. So there is nothing to take really possibly only Putrid Explo, as a fast reliable nearby 100 aoe. Necrotic Traversal can be somewhat good for teleport too.
In general from a secondary good options for a war are: w/rt splinter weapon, w/a and teleports, w/e and conjures, and pbaoe damage. And personally w/a for the teleports is the most useful and fitting one.

Tbf this video is not about doing an optimal, meta build; GW is a dead game, and the meta has been frozen in time for years and done to death by everyone. It's natural that people will try to do 5~7/10 builds that at least explore other skill combinations.

Guymcperson is right on the money here. I was part of this campaign run. We were doing Prophecies with new characters, no gold or items from the rest of the account, no skills from Factions and Nightfall, no heroes, etc. There was an emphasis on experimentation and having fun.
And because we had no heroes available, we were stuck with henchmen if we didn't have a full team. Prophecies henchmen are notorious for being under par healing-wise, especially in certain sections of the campaign where incoming damage is higher. Having a self-heal is nice when Alesia has spent all of her energy putting Healing Breeze on other people.
Sometimes we'd also just not have an optimal spread of classes. The most memorable instance was that we had 8 people for a mission, but none of them were monks, so we all took some self-heals and team support skills and managed to do it that way. Sure, we could've split the team in half and taken henchmen, but this was more fun.

it's a given he is not going for meta or optimal build here.
he is asking for the better possible options for a W/N, and I reply with the better possible options for a W/N in my opinion.

@@d3r4g45 And I'm just adding context for some of the points you raised. (For what it's worth, I agree with some of them.)
The builds shown in this video were created under the Prophecies run restrictions. Yes, in general self-heals aren't worth it--but they were more valuable in our situation. Yes, in general you want AoE damage over single-target damage--but in Prophecies, enemy density is lower and enemies won't be balled up or corner-tanked a lot, so it's not as big of a deal. Yes, heroes can do most of these things--but we didn't have any.
We're just over halfway into Factions right now; we have more tools available to us compared to the Prophecies run, but we're still quite constrained in what we can bring. Under these circumstances, some skills end up becoming useful even though they're considered lesser when taking the game as a whole. If we immediately dismissed every skill that is not an optimal pick, we'd have even less to play around with.
That's a difference between the mindset of this run and the more optimalised points you brought to the table. Both are valid, but it's worth knowing which mindset the video goes for.

@@TirOrah that's ok, i didn't know about the proph only skills parameter. and ye as i said, this works as starting build and when you don't have other options or heroes. For self help, one of the best and ovrerooked is Ether Feast, at lvl 10 gives 150hp healing, for 5en 1s cast and 8s recharge.

In GW almost anything works (at least in normal mode), but the main question is, is it effective? Your builds are not. Why? You are missing on your main role. Aggro management and damage. Warrior is not a good support class (outside of the Save yourself shout spam), nor a caster class. You could heal or do some things a necros do, but why? They can do it better. Keep it simple and stick to the core of your profession. Add some kind of adrenalin managment, ias/attack speed increase, a few attack options and some utility skills. The main attribute of any class is the best indicator of how a class should be used.
