A Week In Our Homeschool Life (as a part-time working mom)

- This was our last week of homeschool in May! As first time homeschoolers, we spent our first year of Kindergarten learning the ropes and having SO MUCH FUN. There is no amount of free time or alone time for myself that I would trade for all the memories we made together. Our first year was all about learning to keep a good rhythm, what we want to be involved in outside of the home, and getting a feel for following a curriculum. I am super happy with the one we used - the Good and the Beautiful. We did about 45 minutes a day of sit down work together 4 times a week, and my son is reading quite well. That's really all it takes when they're getting that one on one focused attention and connection with whoever is teaching them at this age. The workbooks are very open and go, and make learning fun together.
