Els Segadors ist ein altes katalanisches Volkslied. Es war lange Zeit eine inoffizielle Nationalhymne Kataloniens. Seit 1931 ist es auf Beschluss der Generalitat (der Selbstverwaltung der autonomen Region Katalonien) die offizielle Nationalhymne Kataloniens, wobei zunächst eine Festlegung auf eine der beiden geläufigen Textvarianten vermieden wurde. 1937 wurde auch der Text verbindlich festgelegt.
Das Lied geht auf den Aufstand der Schnitter (1640-1652) gegen das habsburgisch-spanische Kaiserhaus zurück. Es stellt einen eindringlichen Aufruf an alle Katalanen dar, ihr Land, ihr Volk und ihre Werte zu verteidigen. Es ist durch einen ernsten und feierlichen Duktus charakterisiert.

Desconozco el significado de la letra de este himno, empero oyese muy bien, me gusta, impresiona, hombre. Si conociese la letra podría hacer la versión en español, o un arreglo o variante pero en castellano.

Basicamente se caga en el Conde Duque de Olivares, en la ley de armas y arenga a la masa a revelarse contra la autoridad del rey. Todo esto en el contexto de la guerra hispano-francesa de 1640. No creo que te gusto si no eres catalán.
