@PointBlank200 say you entered a triathlon but this year they decided its just running, no swimming or biking, thats effectively what they are doing with this game by removing real life motorsport elements from project cars 2 such as fuel, tire wear, temperatures, pit stops and etc the list goes on

Codemasters acquired slightly mad studios, and turned the simulation game into a fking arcade. It’s a mess just like F1 games from codemasters. This is on codemasters not the original slightly mad studios.

Simpler to just use Lexan and then it don’t crack! Oh, sorry. That would be an actual motorsports thing, wouldn’t want any of that to get in the way of your ‘fun’, right?!

Honestly they are playable... well Asphalt 8, 9 is surpisingly sliddy or, on rails.
Why do I feel that even a rating of 6 is a bit too generous for this. LOL. This is a big slap to the face for Project CARS fans.

They trying to reach broad audience. It's not a bad idea, of course Full SIM lover gonna step away on that direction because surprise-surprise is not a full sim game.
The problem i have about this game, how they bring the Project Cars name and how they market this game to be "The best 'SIM' experience". When we have, well this. It just disappointing.

Imagine going from one of the best racing sims in recent memory to knocking off Need for Speed: Shift. I knew something was wrong when I saw Fast and Furious: Crossroads. Blink twice if you're being held against your will, Slightly Mad Studios.
Will never compare to Gran Turismo.
1JZGaming GT is the better game but it’s Simcade not a full on sim like the previous two project car instalments
@@ineedandrenaline Gran Turismo is simcade (mix between arcade and sim) and also a Playstation exclusive. Project Cars is not. Project Cars also has full VR support, which Gran Turismo does not.

Perfect game for nobody: simulation fans will be disappointed, arcade fans won't enjoy it.
I am enjoying it and I play ACC and iracing.
Na it's a combo, between simulation and arcade so it's not that bad

@@Headbangerr-en2cc OK I get your point a bit, but if you play it it's not that bad. The other project cars had wrong physics and the camera was rubbish. PC3 still has unnatural movements, running on shift 2 code. What do you think of the engine sounds? I mean assetto corsa has the best sounds of any game ever in my opinion.

@@joelou They didn't, this is the direction SMS has been going for in the first place before the acquisition. This is not the first time they lied to people, remember when they're so outspoken to promote Shift 2 as "a Gran Turismo and Forza killer" as well as "a market-leading sim racer" and managed to build the hype only to divide a lot of fans in the end ;-)

Project Car 2 is 84% off on steam this made the decision easier. although in all seriousness this is a bit disheartening.
Though PC2 lagged behind the likes of Asseto Corsa, Rfactor 2 etc. in simulation and FF quality.. It was/is still great fun in VR with all the weather effects and nice graphics!... Such a shame PC3 has completely lost the plot.
I nearly bought this on impulse as I love project cars 1 and 2, im glad I didn't, this looks like a mess.

They are slightly mad, it shows. On a sidenote Grid 2019 felt so mediocre to play. I like a lighthearted racing games like the Forza Horizon series, but Grid 2019 just felt dull.
This one does too, trust me. In fact I actually enjoyed Grid 3's handling more than this game, it feels really bad because it's caught between competing impulses of simulation and arcade and ends up being an unholy combination of the two that simply doesn't work.

remember SMS did make a sorta arcade MMO spin-off of Project CARS called World Of Speed? They took a wrong decision to give the IP to another companies when in turn, they're gonna make another arcade-like racing game again lol

Drive club is a comparison I’ve heard a lot and I must say I love the more Arcady approach and not having to install my racing wheel for a short burst of racing. I recon it would be better to name it differently? Codemaster did a great job with separating the Arcady Dirt from simmy Dirt Rally.

Project Cars 2 is one of the best racers out there. If I’d have bought PC3, expecting it to be an even better PC2, I’d have been sooooo pissed.
Slight Mad Studios made a mistake by keeping the sequential order naming convention as opposed to a spin-off name. If its a spin-off / radical change, then name it as such. Similar to Forza Motorsports versus Forza Horizon series. Set proper expectations from the start and it may be received better, e.g. Project Cars [insert-mainstream-catchy-name].

I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in that being an arcadey game isn't inherently bad. However, this just looks bad full stop. After watching first impressions, I'll be saving my money this time.

Codemasters didn't publish PC3, plus the game was already in development before Codemasters purchased them. The game is still really bad though, no denying that lol

Totally agree , it's not meant for PC fans but rather to newcomers maybe, all i can say though, the world needs more arcade racing games instead of having NFS monopolize the genre !

I'm actually ok with having a GRID/NFS Shift type game that ACTUALLY supports TRUE triple screens AND VR. I have every sim out there, so being able to play a sim-cade game in VR is a huge plus for me.
I pre-ordered before reading enough about the changes compared to PC2, and still decided to give it a chance as the negative feedback started piling up. I thought critics were exaggerating and not willing to be open to variations on gameplay - after all, the car upgrades sounded very interesting.
The game steps away from realism into something in the same category as Forza Horizons 4, but with VERY bad AI. Running hot laps in practice is the only thing I can do and not feel as much remorse for the purchase. Driving physics feel more like Forza 7 and very forgiving. I already put too many hours trying to justify the game and can't get a refund but If given a second chance, would not buy this.

The CARS actually stands for Community Assisted Racing Simulator, but the first and second games were not really reflecting the Community Assisted part. It was a solid game indeed, but I feel like the community and even the backers of the game wasn't involved that much in shaping the game
@@CodOfAges The first game was mostly funded by Wiiu owners who were promised the game would come to their platform. It never actually did though.

I enjoy a middle ground of sim and arcade racing.
PC2 handling was really hard without a proper steering wheel setup. That sells less, makes less money. Easy to understand the 180º
Project Cars 2 didn't require a steering wheel. It was highly playable on controller and really not hard at all even with all assists turned off.
@@turtlewax7167 on PC2 the McLaren supercars especially had awful braking and were impossible to turn into a corner with a controller also some cars would skid around at only 30mph, anyone who's driven a real car knows cars at 30mph don't lose grip like that
But that happens in the Sim Racing market, none of the games will sell like forza or need for speed, but us sim racers loved PC2, and to just hang us out to dry, its wrong.

Yes its moved away from it's sim roots but dam it's fun.i got the deluxe edition since yesterday and me and the old lady have been having a blast racing around.there are a bunch of tracks and cars maby not as many as the las two but it's FUN. P.s if you turn off most of the hud it really helps.
I drove the AMG GT3 on sugo for like an hour with G923. Yeah it's like a middle between racing game and racing sim.
For an arcade racer it's a lot of fun, playing it with my controller 🎮🎮🎮

They're literally the same game, they use the same sound effects, voice over and car handling model, they just use different tracks and cars.

This is literally Need for Speed Shift 3. I had my first 5hr in two days and all I get is reminiscence of Shift 2 with the progress bar at the top minus the aggression factor( which is actually incentivized in Shift) followed by the markers in the mini map highlighting the track for perfect corner and total corners mastered. Hell even the chase came in straight road feels similar to the actual shift without the fancy blur or vignette around the screen and that wiggly effect(I loved that though)
As a sim racing lover but also who doesn't own a sim setup, I have to say this game is the new Shift in modern graphics I always wanted. Allows me to relax and not worry much about tip of the point tuning. I Still would love a sim setup in the future but until then I am happy with the game.
Steam shows it as a Mixed reviews... Trust me if this game was launched as a need for speed shift 3 people would have actually given it the positive feedback it deserves where it shines.... ARCADE SIM racer.

I personally loved Shift 2 because of its simplicity, u could be a total noob and still have fun and I get that this game is not 4 everyone but I think because it's now basically a continuation of Shift 2 so I'd definitely get it.
Great, after the Rally and 2.0 series, Project Car 1 and 2, I'm fed up with the simulation, I want a really casual ride without annoying, I'm driving a Dirt 4, I'm tired of the Grid, I'm waiting for another review, and if they confirm casual, I'll preorder on PS Network tomorrow!
This gives me more patience for Granturisimo 7. Nice review though I like the way he did it.
