  • One thing you can change is you can delay Ogi Namikiri+ Kaeshi: Namikiri by 1 gcd(So Higanbana then Gecko, then Ogi Namikiri+Kaeshi: Namikiri instead of Higanbana then Ogi Namikiri+Kaeshi:Namikiri then Gecko) in opener and even bursts so you don't clip Shoha after Higanbana but this should be the loop for the rest of the expansion unless SAM gets updated.
    In summary: Keep comboing after your opener, then two filler GCD every other minute that doesn't have Ogi Namikiri+ Kaeshi:Namikiri
    0:00 Pre-pull.
    0:06 Opener
    0:39 Odd Minute Cooldown Phase (No filler)
    1:15 Odd Minute Burst Phase
    1:36 Even Minute Cooldown Phase (With Filler)
    2:15 Even Minute Burst Phase

    I really appreciate the video. I just got to 90 and I was looking for a rotation that would show me how to properly play the job.

    The Loop (according to the balance) : Opener - cooldown - Odd Burst - Filler - Cooldown - Even Burst - Filler (if GCD with shifu under 2.08) - Cooldown.

    Just picked up Sam this xpac cause they massacred my boy, got a feel for the loop but it does look like lots of downtime in actual fights are going to leave us free styling after the first 2 mins. I guess we just follow the old freestyle priority system of minimize your yukis under meikyo & higanbanas with sen other than Yuki in those situations?

    • @TheFinalEpic
      @TheFinalEpic  Před 2 lety +1

      The changes to endwalker has made adhoc very viable yes. Nothing drifts anymore besides dot application. So mostly you Meikyo with non yuki and keep bursting every 1 min and 2 min.

  • @hoshi314
    @hoshi314 Před 2 lety +1

    I knew meikyo pre-pull is going to be the standard when i watch the media tour impressions on SAM even if i am not a prog raider this is pretty obvious from the start, i just haven't gotten the muscle memory yet (still catching myself using the 5.0 opener LOL). My biggest problem at mind is whether to Higanbana first or just nuke at the start and then higanbana later, turns out slip higanbana in the middle.
    Though i might not gonna Meikyo -> Gekko -> Kaiten Higanbana and instead just yukikaze combo -> Kaiten Higanbana and then use the meikyo for instant midare, i know it's to align with raid buffs but i still feel a bit off when i have to use meikyo for higanbana instead of midare ever since 4.0 3 sen opener days
    Edit : Gekko as first attack? why not Kasha first?

    • @TheFinalEpic
      @TheFinalEpic  Před 2 lety +2

      Does more damage overall. The increase skill speed for only one gcd is not worth it over the damage increase over the singular GCD that damage buff applies.
      And this Meikyo change allows up to ramp up much faster, Samurai's biggest issue previous expansion is extremely long ramp up time from its opener, this expansion fixes it.

  • @RimeRock
    @RimeRock Před 2 lety +1

    Can I move around the combos after the opener? For example at 0:40 you start with Yukikaze combo then Gekko combo, then Kasha combo. Could I do the reverse? Kasha > Gekko > Yukikaze?

    • @TheFinalEpic
      @TheFinalEpic  Před 2 lety +2

      As long as you burst in raid buffs and allign Higanbana, yes.

    Do you need to use a filler after your even minute burst as Ogi Namakiri combo is 2gcds?

    • @TheFinalEpic
      @TheFinalEpic  Před 2 lety +2

      No, your even bursts has Ogi Namikiri and Kaeshi: Namikiri as your filler so you don't do your filler 2 gcd. You only do your filler after Odd minute bursts, so you only get 2 Filler GCD at 2.14 GCD every 2 minutes.

      In raid bursts or to not overcap on kenki as long as you're not clipping it.

  • @thanasiusgrandel54
    @thanasiusgrandel54 Před 2 lety +4

    I have questions, why spend tsubame-gaeshi every minute instead of holding it for next 2min burst to align it with every raid buffs ? incase there's no trick attack

    • @TheFinalEpic
      @TheFinalEpic  Před 2 lety +5

      You technically can, but most raid buffs will not last long enough to perform the 2nd double midare. 1 double midare+ Higanabana+ 1 double super midare is entire raid buff duration. And the charge system prevents double midare from drifting, if you do that, you have a high chance of drifting double midare.

    • @thanasiusgrandel54
      @thanasiusgrandel54 Před 2 lety +1

      Ah yeah, it quite make sense now, because for 2nd midare you need to meikyo and get 3 sen before executing it, that's 3 GCD already
      thanks for the insight, i think i need to work with the rotation again

      tried your opener for 10mins, it's kind of smooth with some modifications,
      i did hagakure on yukikaze at 1mins mark instead of doing full combo to connect it with kasha combo then meikyo > double midare > higanbana, it went smooth after that

    A question: Why do top sams use kaiten exclusively for higanbana and avoid kaiten-midare(Info taken from FFlogs)? They tend to use the kenki for shinten. What's the logic behind this when everything including balance suggests kaiten before every iai-jutsu?

    • @TheFinalEpic
      @TheFinalEpic  Před 2 lety +2

      You always Kaiten Midare. You always Kaiten Higanbana. I have no idea where you got this info. And you Kaiten the Iajutsu and Ogi Namikiri because it's the only thing worth to Kaiten.
