  • How many viruses did we get from FAKE Download Button Ads? Today I'm looking at fake download button ads and the potential malware that can be installed from clicking them.
    Follow me on Twitter - / atericparker
    Avoid accidentally clicking ads on websites that offer downloads, sometimes they are disguised to look just like the regular download button, but instead of containing your file, they will instead offer you a virus or adware.
    Much of the music in my videos comes from the CZcams audio library, especially this amazing music creator: / @patrickpatrikios2050 .

    I really hope that malware hunting and clicking links would be a bigger genre. It’s not that hard to make and it’s really entertaining. Nice work!

      I feel like the reason behind this is because kids receive technology way earlier than we did. By the time I ever used a computer, it was in primary school with a teacher telling us how to use it. As I had no computer experience back then (didn't get our first family computer till a few years later), I had to really listen to the instructions.
      Now, kids are glued to ipads before they hit daycare! I watched my bosses son play on his phone (he wasn't even in kindergarten then), and he absolutely shocked me at how well he navigated the phone! And then I realised.... he's not reading (or rather can't read) a single word! He just knows that when a popup comes, press the button on this side, or press the button that's coloured in! Your nephew probably translated that autopilot skill into just accepting them.
      Even we're guilty of accepting ToS and EULA without reading, but they're definitely on another level!

      I remember when I was little our school had a computer lab in the library.
      Part of language class would always involve going those computers and being taught basic computer skills.
      File system, saving work, Ms word, and basic security.
      I'm surprised this isn't more common.

      Yeah it can, you should have your firewall turned on.

    • @someguy4915
      @someguy4915 Před měsícem

      @@EnderMC No it cannot, unless you explicitly setup Hyper-V to allow communication between VMs.
      Making a VM is more than just clicking 'New VM', setting up VLANs and proper network segmentation is pretty standard here and would block practically any option for malware in one VM to spread to another VM or the host machine.
      The only way then would be some zero-day exploit in the Hyper-V kernel, which trust me, if you have to ask; this type of exploit would not be used on you :P
      But in case everything blows up you have backups anyway.

    how do you make your vm look like a real pc

  • @wowinyou
    @wowinyou Před měsícem

    To get the VM to have sound, you should simply have to start the Sound Service in Windows. When Windows installs the VM "Guest Services" no matter if you run a Windows 2000 Server on WIndows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V or Like in my Case a Windows 11 in Windows Server 2012 R2 with ESU, it Disables the Service by Default. All you do, is start the Sound Service...
    You probably already know this; still useful incase you need it. (Could pin it too ig)

It sucks we live in a world where we have to keep up-to-date with things and are pressured to by every person and every company and constantly badgered and harassed and that there are hackers and malware creators doing this shit.
