Isn’t my man an addict? I love the show but these dudes talk down to everyone in regards of things like nicotine, energy drinks and Kratom as if there isn’t some utility and therapeutic value to any of them and all 3 are trashy vices that they’re above. I don’t use nicotine, Kratom or drink energy drinks so I personally don’t take offense to it but I know there are plenty of people out there including my sister who’s NOT a addict, who find real utility and in some instances therapeutic value in Kratom as a anti depressant so it’s just weird they act so pretentious and paint it in such a negative light. It almost feels as though they have an agenda and that would make sense for a recovering heroin addict who is indoctrinated with the 12 step process. Steve-o does the same thing. They can’t see it in any other light than the way they saw it when they were using but that’s what makes them addicts. Not everyone who uses cognitive enhancing substances or Kratom for depression or pain relief is an addict lol. They’re part and parcel to the problem with vilifying substances that aren’t yet fully understood. It was the same exact phase that marijuana went through before it became widely accepted by the medical community and main stream as having a bevy of medicinal and therapeutic value. There is so much propaganda out there about Kratom and dudes like these two are just perpetuating that narrative. He had someone on to “debunk” Kratom. What about having someone on 10 times more informed and reputable to debunk the debunker? Because it can be done and by professionals just as, if not more informed than that dude. Isn’t this supposed to be a comedy podcast? And for a dude with a illness like addiction who abused every substance in the book, you’d think he’d be less dismissive and condescending to people he thinks are using elicit substances as some vice or addiction and not act pretentious about the whole thing.
