speaking snotaconnnnn i was skeptical till David Hayter himself made a tweet about "not wanting to put my finger on the scale but..." now im all for it
I just realized that snake with the eye patch is big boss, or could be venom snake, snake without an eye patch could be solid snake or big boss/pliskin. So confusing to read/say? Well that's the entire story of a mostly stealth based game. Raiden is the good guy actually.
Solid 🐍: a no patch
Big boss: Eye patch
Punished(Venom) 🐍: Eye patch, and red Robot arm

It was at the end of V, Naked Snake says Big Boss is the two of them put together
Naked Snake: eyepatch, was the original Big Boss before he shares the title with Venom Snake
Venom Snake: eyepatch, retconned to have piece of shrapnel in his face, body double/phantom of Naked Snake whom he shares the title of Big Boss
Solid Snake: no eyepatch, clone son of Naked Snake

This is meant to be Big Boss proper. That first line is a reference to a line from Metal Gear 2.

Eh, I don’t personally take the “Solid Snake and Octacon are gay” meme seriously considering Otacon had a female love interest or some sort of drama in each game he was in, meanwhile Snake flirted with every woman on his support team during MG2 and MGS1, had a relationship with Meryl for a few months after the end of MGS1 (who he still had dreams about by the time of the Plant Chapter in 2), and by 4 Snake was too old physically and cynical mentally to really have any interest in love or sex.
Now _Big Boss?_ He _did_ swing both ways. At least according to the side op with Kaz in PW and the intentional homoerotic subtext with Ocelot.

While he's not homosexual, every soldier and subordinates in their organization is in love with Big Boss' legacy including Kaz and Ocelot. Big Boss then embrace his title and name. Ocelot is someone he trusts his life with. And he just dedicated his life to the Outer Heaven Agenda. He's more of asexual the older he gets since he's sterile since his early twenties. He didn't like the idea of cloning and after the Eva and Paz incidents, I think he has more distrusts with pretty women.

@LadySloth If you knew what I was talking about, then you'd realize that Otacon wasn't "gawking" when that happened. Hell, he criticized Snake when that happened (he also does the same anytime Snake looked at a poster of women). And in the intro segment of MGS2, when you're supposed to take pictures of Metal Gear Ray, if you send pictures of women to Otacon, he says that he'll make a backup while blushing, but as soon as you send him the picture of the male biceps, he tells you something along the lines of "You know, it's your life and all, but keep it to yourself next time." But I guess you'll ignore that if it means it fits your headcanon, right?
