I love this video. I got a chance to go back to Juba last year for the first time in 10 years and my experience was similar. I relate to the surrealness of it all. One thing I was unexpectedly touched by was being surrounded by the presence of people who look just like me. Did you notice that as well? And I agree, witnessing the wealth disparity in real life was unsettling. It definitely stirred something in me as well.
yess, i think this was the best part - the fact that everyone around me looked just like me and there was a level of freedom bc of that. thank you for watching :)
Omg I’m from north Sudan my mom tells me stories when Sudan was one she said the south had the most beautiful fertile lands with mangos falling out the tree she wasn’t lying🔥😂💯🇸🇩🇸🇸💓
I love South Sudanese people, the most beautiful people in Africa. ❤from 🇸🇴
Achan I love this video. As a South Sudanese women who’s never been able to visit back home, I’m so grateful that you took your time to vlog your trip. This video truly gave me a sense home.🥹🙌🏿💐
praying we will be able to return to a peaceful and grown sudan one day ♥️
@achanwol . You'll be part of the growth. Please learn your local languages, and it'll be easier for you to communicate.
So beautiful that you captured this. I'm from Zimbabwe, but currently living in Australia and I too wish some African countries got more exposure from people with a real connection to them. This video is a perfect step in that direction.
Love it when the girlies go home😍😍
this was a masterpiece Achan!!!! I can’t pick a favorite moment - you killed it and you are amazing. so many moments touched me ❤

Beautiful video! I'm Liberian and by the grace of God I was able to visit Liberia again after 23 years in July of 2023. Your video inspires me to share my trip experience, I truly believe that God is bringing the younger diaspora of Africans back to the motherland as a testimony of His goodness, for His glory and honor and for us to give back to our people with the resources that God has blessed us with. I pray that as we get older we can visit the motherland often to help our people and advance the Kingdom of God
i was in sudan most of the summer and it was the most beautiful experience ever. It made me more open minded and grateful for everything little thing in my life, and also was so refreshing to be around so many ppl who were so similar to me.
This was so raw and fruitful achan. Thank you for taking me on this wholesome journey 🤍
the way i LOVE this video so much??😭 like every aspect of it makes me miss village life in nigeria. i was fortunate enough to have been born there/live there for 5ish years, but also travel home every Christmas afterwards. but because of c*vid i haven’t been back since 2019-2020
but the relatability between our village life is OFF the charts, from the :
- goat (my grandpa had a goat pen & i turned them into my pets, b4 they were made to be food😭)
- using a stick to get fruits from the tree
- THE FLIES??
- the roads (doesn’t help when the car is hella crammed 😭)
- not knowing the full language
- prayer into the new years
i can’t wait to go back this year, but its a shame that both of our governments are letting down our countries 🇳🇬❤️🇸🇸
it is a shame but haha I love that 🥲! One day africa will be celebrated to its full extent in Jesus namee I pray
Very beautiful Achan, I love your heart💗 ~ as an ss that hasn’t been back home I appreciate your pov. Change will come to South Sudan🇸🇸

I am a South African and I must say I absolutely enjoyed this content. I loved everything about it even the "underwhelming airport", yes it could be better. A lot of improvements are indeed needed there but I could actually live there among others and actually have a good time.
Thank you,beautiful Sudanese sister.
Beautiful video Achan! Try to learn Dinka, so you wont be lost when your parents are old.
Wow. This really spoke to me. I’m also a first gen American and I haven’t been back to my home country since I left at 2. It’s a lot to see but from a fresh set of eyes. The cinematography, the message, the story. Truly Beautiful. Please continue to spread awareness and truth the way that you do it’s so inspiring!

Thanks, Sister Achan...South Sudan has a great future, and we are so proud that we have such a beautiful country. Some people might despise S. Sudan, but will be prove wrong with time. What we need for now as S. Sudanese is good leadership. The rest will be a history. There is no naturally beautiful land like South Sudan...it is our pride❤
keep up, don't stop visiting you ancestor's land, good job.

Such a beautiful video. I loved your cinematography skills! You spoke so eloquently and had wonderful messages to share- about taking daily things in our lives for granted and seeing immigrant parents in their hometowns is always such an unforgettable experience. !!

That was thought provoking journey. South Sudan 🇸🇸 is so welcoming, beautiful in nature, underdeveloped and people are living comfortable there as usuall.
Life is a struggle.
Which village have you visited apart from juba town ??
Also I feel you with the language barrier but I’ve lived in Kenya for two years (I’m south sudanese & dinka) I was fluent but I understand fully but only half dinka😭 I’ll be going back in December but we’re visiting South Sudan as well I’m kinda scared I’m ngl 😭 but I hope everything works out in gods plan, god bless you 🙏🙏
Also (sorry for the multiple comments) do you think the heat will be unbearable for someone who lives in North Dakota and thinks 60 degrees is hot enough for shorts 😅
avg temp was like 90 so haha yea, but girl dont be scared you'll be safe
You are so beautiful. All the way from South Africa.
Am a from South Sudan❤
