I got hooked on drugs. Got pulled over went to jail was detoxing. Got out the next day had to wear a drug patch. I was hurting; depressed lost my job and my wife was disappointed in me. But she told me that she knew I could beat it and get better. She looked at me and told me hunny just focus on your gamefowl and I’ll work and carry us. Cock fighting was the only thing that pulled me out of drugs. It’s been 3 years now I’ve been clean. I’ve got better gamefowl, my wife is still here. I just bought her a new car myself a new boat. We both got fantastic jobs paying are taxes! If not for game birds I’d be totally opposite. Thank you for carrying on gamefowl and saving my life thank you to all!

I stopped raising birds damn near destroyed my family exhausted all funds . one day I got arrested for possession my wife wanted to kill my ass because I had hid my addiction and lied to her to the point she was ready to pack her shit and leave.well that day I checked into detox got clean stuck with a program and needed an outlet to busy my mind busy..I still had all my equipment for raising birds got my money up and started over with 4 roosters and 8 hens.that was 5 years ago now and I haven't looked back .so a big thank you to my wife for sticking by me and reminding of my passion , and Johnny Jumper even though I never met him or Nathan personally for providing amazing birds ,this has got my life back on track and gave me a purpose again. Thank you for sharing your story and good luck on continuing your sobriety. Long live the game fowl heritage.
