For those who don't understand what happened with the ultra at 13:16 or so, akuma lowered a few frames just as gen charged up the ultra, he was right in range the entire time, but we didn't see him descend those few frames.
right at the edge of 13:17 you can see akuma just barely in range of gen's ultra.
XIAN was one of my favorite players during the SF4 era. I hope he comes back for SF6
No joke this match was more hype than any match from SF5.

This remembers me what gen said in his arcade intro: "you cannot hurt me", you lost that right When I stared death to the face (the hadoken that Was going to kill him) and I turned my back to it (like how his ultra shows him turning his back towards Akuma after the attack)
Xian knew that last ultra would work, I remember he played a local tournament against Tokido and won with that EXACT same setup
I half expected him to have switched stances when I heard the ultra activation sound.
why does he combo into light shoryuken when fierce links too? can someone explain this to me also ive seen him link into sweep when he could fierce shoryuken
literally they just explained it after I commented this haha, that's kind of what I thought but now I know, even though I swear i've seen him do light when fierce would have won the match

Most Ultras and Supers have a few frames of fireball invincibility on start up. Blanka's super rolling ball does, anyway.

Tokido did an air fireball, which makes him unable to block until he lands. Xian's U1 just baaaaarely hit the tip of his Akuma's hit-box.

I rewinded the Ultra ending multiple times.. The only possible way I can see how it worked is based on the fact that Ultras have a slower start up than supers, so the delay allowed for Tokido to somehow get caught in it. GG
The ultra he was using is a 1 frame start up and invincible on frame one. Akuma was in float state which allows for being hit while falling. Additionally, gen’s ultra was in active frames when Akuma entered the hitbox for the Ultra

***** Oh really? You mean E Ryu is cheap character. Lets see you win a tourney with E Ryu then. He is a low tier character, far below than Ken or Ryu. Sako was the one who put E Ryu on the map as a viable character for tourneys. Please tell me how many Ryu (except Daigo) or Ken players have won a tournament. I think you know nothing about how the game works and you are just a salty player who lost to too many Ken/Ryu/ E Ryu scrubs online. Stay free.
***** You can't get much low tier than e-ryu. ex-chains are possible with all characters, just less viable sources of damage. the fact that chars like e-ryu requires you to spend ex to dish out a decent combo is a nerf in itself. Keep to the pub games scrub, don't think you can weigh in on tourney level play just because you get stomped by people better than you.
The fact that you think it's stupid and fighting to the very end as a statement lets me know you don't know shit about this game and how low tier e ryu is to actually compete at high level. Make sure you don't call people stupid when you look like a dumb scrub lol.

I know it has a cross-up hitbox because high-level Gens will go for it as a wake-up setup on occasion. I guess the hitbox is just tall enough.
***** Yeah. Even if the ultra didn't hit, going for that setup was inviting Xian to escape the vortex with Ultra. Should've thrown a meaty ground fireball, FADC'ed, and waited to punish whatever Xian did.

This is before the streetfighter ultra and I play Akuma and I’ve been playing fighting games since the 90s that was bullshit he was hit with a fireball from the air and he was jumping over him if that’s not a flaw in the games programming I don’t know what it is, but I’ll be wrong to tell your street fighter alpha 3 was better because they didn’t lock both players in when somebody activated one special🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾🤦🏾🤦🏾♂️🙋🏾♂️🙋🏾😂😂😭😭😭 plus you didn’t get all the moves.
