    is it really difficult to get a job in automotive design after you finish university. i need help, because i want to do automotive design at uni

    • @FormTrends
      @FormTrends  Před 7 lety +3

      Yes, automotive design is a very competitive field. You need to demonstrate not only sketching skills but also an ability to be creative and offer solutions. The first thing you need to do is develop a well-rounded portfolio of work. This will get you into a good design school. From there you can further develop your technique and work on projects that you'll present to potential employers. Good luck!

    Can one be a car designer with Honours in Industrial design ? I'm a South African grad and there isnt single transportation design school in Africa but I had to teach my self growing up and mixing both industrial design elements and transportation design elements into the concept ideation of vehicles I design.

    if the younger generation isn't interested in cars ... maybe you should change the concept and rethink mobility

    • @mauriciowelch6521

      people is not interested in the job that car designers make, but there are young people with motivation and passion about this amazing world so why we had to englobe all young people, Im studing car design so.

    Personally the idea of autonomous driving is an interesting idea as an option but not fully, get a serious computer error with no means to take control could lead to someone having a very bad day!...

    SadlyI think he is destroying Mercedes. Yes I agree car design needs to move on but he is designing out the beauty and robust quality of the brand.

      Martin Jones I never liked Mercedes until somewhat recently. No longer are the days of rich housewife owned mercedes.

  • @NESherv

    With all due respect, these cars look fucking ridiculous. They're interesting simply as studies in shape and form, but I would never want to see anything like this on the road. A car needs to at least look like a car - not a vacuum cleaner.

  • @electricsupercarsolarionic4070

    the concept of a biome Mercedes! it's a stolen idea - this prototype was created by another designer in 2001!
    And the company Mercedes only added an extended nose!
    it's ugly to steal ideas from other designers and not pay them!

    • @kenconcepts
      @kenconcepts Před 4 lety

      by chance you know who designed it?

  • @gold333
    @gold333 Před 4 lety

    Mercedes Benz aesthetics are so crude and garish. No sense of positive and negative space, no leading the eye, no use of golden ratio. Just a gypsy design of things thrown together without thought. Like the analog clock in the middle of the dashboard. Or design cues thrown into the design in isolation. A curve or a line lying in a sea of nothing. No overall congruence. Just pointless and garish.
    The beauty in a Merc is like the beauty of a gold toilet. As opposed to something like the tensile structure design on a BMW or Ferrari.
    The design of a Merc just looks like a nondescript Japanese/Asian car with no quality aesthetics. It’s valuable because of the brand name, not the brand design.
