That barbecue used to have just one burner until Alan converted it into a twin.
😂 😂 😂
And its still not big enough...
I want to see a 6 burner 1300 bbq…
The man is a genius, I've said it before and I'll say it again, the man is a genius.
He does seem a lot like a genius..
A very skillful genius. Most geniuses are not that skillful.
It is unclear to me. Are you saying the man is a genius? ;)
He Certainly is a Less Talk More Action kind of Man!!
I don't think he sleeps either.
People say oh I'd like to meet Paul from Orange county choppers or Jesse James I'll tell you what I would like to meet Allen over any movie star or other bike builder out there. Amazing gifted man. Love the video thanks brother
Could not agree more...
Absolutely.... his work is superb....faultless.....
Creativity + Art + Engineering + Craftsmanship = Allen
Yes this man builds bikes!! I like his personality very humble and calm. How would you like to be his childhood friend? I knew enough to keep our bikes running. Allen "let's add a few more barrels"😂🤣😂
Same here, what a great guy👍
I am an apprentice trained toolmaker from way back when and an engineer all my life been working with metal and bikes for a long time but this guy Allen Millyard is just a genius, he is unbelievable - so much respect
Yeah... he's in a class of his own sure enough....,
Next episode , Allen builds a triple from the swarf in the lathe bin .
Another masterpiece this time with a twist. Made out of leftovers. The only leftovers I have are in my fridge!.
Once again Allan a real beauty.
Is it just me, but I find Alan’s gentle voice highly relaxing!!!
Allen is a legend. He built an engine out of extra parts and made it look easy. This gives me motivation to get out in the garage and work on my projects
Nice
Love that somewhere out there is an ex-Kawasaki product manager wondering “why didn’t we think of that” 😀👍🏻
John Glyn ... I wondered about that too. But I also recall Suzuki had their renowned 500 two-stroke twin (Yamaha having gone to four-strokes and Honda always four-strokes) so I can imagine the guys at Kawa decided that making a two-stroke triple would one-up Suzuki.
@@shannonwittman950 I had a Suzuki 500 twin but this looks even better
There are 1.1 million motorcycle riders roughly in the UK. It should me mandatory for them to all subscribe to your channel as a right of passage. Well done👍
Brilliant idea
As one of those 1.1million, it should be mandatory to ride a 2t at least once.
@@AllenMillyard subed, great work, form a old triple racer.
That is a BULLSHIT number!
@@Silverback1969MoonLandingLies pick a number sport whatever you say
All things considered, this is my favorite motorcycle engine. Never heard such smoothness from a 2 stroke! All 5 gears down low yet it gladly revs.
Look up H2 vs. state trooper. It has a tail view of the rider, but the sound is amazingly spot on
This guy needs more exposure and should win some fancy world wide award....he's a natio al treasure......his engineering is just mind boggling!
A man in a shed.
AWESOME.
Arise Sir Millyard.
Makes me wonder what Arthur “Two Sheds” Jackson has accomplished!
Tam ... I don't suppose ... the Queen might be a subscriber ... ?
That 500 twin is absolutely georgeous.Although it is simpler than most of Allen's conversions it is possibly my favourite. He makes it look so easy.Fabulous.
What a beautiful sound on the road, the crackling exhaust on over run, the little hiccup as the powerband kicks in. Awesome. Love it
With such a lovely calm demeanor Alan would be the Mr. Rogers of motorcycling in America.
duckbell ... "It's a beautiful day in the -- workshop!"
That Swiss army knife? He made that after breakfast from a cola can, an old RD350 piston & Tracy's best nail file.
🤣🤣
😂😂
He presents solutions to what many of us would consider impossible in such an affable way that he makes us all feel like we could do it too. That’s the subtlety of his genius.
Explained a very complicated proceedure like it is simple. Genius is an over used word to describe allan.
Simplify this man is A pure genius , I am at 67-year-old man grew up with a z900 , The videos leave me breathless, I thank you , i’ve only just bought a bike again after 25 years Thanks again, your family must be so proud !
Another job well done sir. The expansion chambers sound amazing. I love when a 2 stroke gets into high rev and begins to sing it's happy song of power, nothing else like it! The power delivery seems smooth and flawless. You sir are truly gifted. Thank you for sharing with us.
MR Millyard is there anything you can't do? Genius sir.
I think we all experienced the volume of that bike without silencers 😁
WHAT?
yes it is really loud !
@@AllenMillyard I just about leaped off the couch with it 😂.
Congratulations on the subscribers though, long may it continue.
@@AllenMillyard I’d got me headphones on
Yes, it was quite loud, and such a beaut!!
If she’s howling...she must be growling... glorious sound of a 70’s hooligan steed. Bloody marvellous build. 🤘🇨🇭👀
Makes me miss my 1976 Suzuki Titan, a 500 cc 2 stroke twin road bike. I sold it for a 1975 Kawasaki Z1 900 back in 1977. I still ride that bike, it has 140,000 miles and is kept in fine fettle.
This man is gonna out-legend every single famous bike builder. Just a matter of time...
I think he's already done that . The guy is incredible and has the best attitude ever. Hard to beat .
To those who know, he already has! ;)
Sorry but as a kiwi I have to throw John Britten's name in. I agree this guy is awesome.
@@budwizer2197 If John Britten had still be alive, he would give Millyard a run for his money. Britten must have been secretly working on a Free Energy Joe Cell engine or something. He was probably murdered. Fortunately Millyard isn't interested in advanced technology, and he isn't a threat to the corporations. John Bedini made his last video about his replication of a beautiful Rife healing machine, and that was his last video, before he, and his brother were murdered. John Bedini was the most legendary electronic motor and generator builder in the world before his death.
Another beautiful bike, it has been said so many times, but this man is a true artisan.
Allen: this is an easy job
Me: i think our definition of easy isn’t the same
I think you are right. I'm not so much surprised that it works well as surprised it works at all. Mr M seems to lack the blowing his own trumpet gene.
I mean he has built a v12 motorcycle
@@61936 very true
My late brother gave me a Swiss army knife for my birthday in 1973 prior to his death. Inscribed on the knife "Live to ride, ride to live ". Still have that knife and smile whenever I see one. That 500cc is so wonderful!
Remember ironman 1; 'Tony stark built this in a cave, with a box of scraps'.
Allen actually built this, in a shed, from scrap. The guy is a genius.
I wish I lived next door to you Allen with all those lovely engines being started up. Great job on the bike
I would be shouting over the fence “start the bike up again! “ 😉
I am a neighbour and I never know how many cylinders he takes out each time he goes for a spin. I try and guess and always think it sounds like a triple, so I have no idea but they all sound great.
It's quite obvious that you enjoy operating your machinery with skill and precsion as much as you enjoy working on them with skill and precision. That 500 sings a sweet song.
Could watch Allen's videos non-stop. Brilliant engineering and the finished products are worthy of comparison and superior to anything off a production line! Amazing!
You built a beautiful, strong and light engine out of scrap - great!
My favourite piece of equipment in Allen's armoury - the barbecue. Burgers, sausages, engine parts and gloves. It's so versatile!!!
Baked not Fry....ed 😁
I think it's perfect, pulls strong too. Looks like it was straight from the factory. You do amazing work!
Just found this again. I love how Allen barely mentions how the exhausts are made. Of course the steps are simple - make templates, cut sheet metal, roll sheet metal, weld together, polish. But making that happen is one heck of a job. Not only do the parts have to be rolled without kinks the ends have to meet, be the same diameter AND be welded without bodging the appearance. That alone is a skill level beyond normal human ability. The it has to fit the bike. AAAGH! Top respect to Allen.
"Just rolled them by hand over a mandrel," yes, just like that everything straight and even, as you say!
A large machine shop says can't be done , alan does it at home , well done.lovely bike. Those country lanes are narrow
Next episode: Alan builds a V12 Unicycle from scratch using only a Swiss army knife.................
No chance too easy!
@@williamarmstrong7199 Allen would rebuild the Swiss Army knife and could add a micro chainsaw and drill to it.
Don't think he can't do it😊
Don't be ridiculous he will also use his Hacksaw aswell !!
There’s usually a TIG welder involved. And done with such skill you’d never know.
I really miss two strokes, the sound and the smell and just the way they go. One day when I have some money Im going to buy one of yours Allen.
That sound takes me back.. I wasn't as sensible when I was 17 and would have nailed the throttle through every gear of my 100cc Suzi. Great memories, thank you!
Nothing beats the sound of that two stroke burble, can't wait to see the next vid. 👍
It sounds so crisp!
What a great sound! Your understanding of motorcycle mechanics and what can be achieved, IN A SHED, is astounding. Respect.
This might be the coolest thing on the internet. Thanks Allen.
Some people just don't realise the true beauty in motorbikes, and this man just puts makeup on what's already beautiful. In other words your a god dude, a literal god and this thing sounds incredible!
And here’s one we made from the left-over bits, amazing!
What a beautiful and compact 500 twin. Never fails to amaze me your videos, I look forward to them every week.
Sounds blissful, Allen. I think everyone loves the sound of a two stroke.
no
And the smell, especially if its running on Castral R.
ALLEN YOU ARE THE DEFINITION, OF KAWASAKI'S CATCH PHRASE OF, " LET THE TIMES ROLL " I'M DEFINITELY A FAN.! YOU KEPT THE BEST 2 STROKE MACHINES ALIVE..!! 😎👌♥️
Well deserved on the 100,000 plus subscribers Allen, it’s well deserved in my opinion...the work you do is absolutely amazing...
Please keep these videos coming mate!
The sound of this bike is awesome, amazing build by a genius
Nothing sounds better than an aircooled 2 stroke with expansion pipes on , Alan you are a genius !
So nice to hear a two stroke twin getting revved hard. Takes me back to my youth. Well done and nice bike.
My old GT500 is jealous. Lovely job, sir!
I could listen to you all day Allen .
Unbelievable, what a bike. I'll never complain bout a broken stud again. What an engineer!!!
Brilliant.... Its the 500 stroker that we all wanted back in the day. What a talent Mr Millyard
That bike sounds incredible. Revs up so quick!
Such a talented man you make it look so easy, you could teach the bike manufacturers a thing or two thanks for sharing ride safe
We love the sound and performance of two stroke, power to weight ratio off the chart. And the simplicity of it all. I've only seen the Suzuki, but the Kawasaki Twin, what a great find!
Love the sound of the 2 stroke twin. Had forgotten how good. Makes me almost miss my Bridgestone 175! Good bike no spares!!
Not ever have you failed to amaze me with your ability. I really enjoy the “and it fits just perfect” after you have fettled it. Of course it bloody does. You did it! However, as brilliant as you are, I feel a slight sadness. We need, and will always need, remarkable people (especially engineers) like you. Your personal legacy will be an impressive collection of unique engineering projects. I can only imagine how rich that legacy would be if it also included a few engineers from the “Millyard School of Garage and Barbecue Engineering” all with their “fits just perfect” diplomas.
Many thanks for making this vides. Keep up the good work and I’ll keep watching.
2 Stroke heaven Allan completely brilliant.
Allen Millyard's videos are just perfect. They leave me well chuffed.
Masterclass....engineering genius out of a garden shed...the road test was pure class, no wheelies, or stupid tricks...pure class Mr Millyard
i have to admit, this is the best sounding 2 stroke bike i have ever heard.
Have you heard his 666cc 5 cylinder?
Allen you are the complete master of the understatement , brilliant work as ever
Seen this one many times still one of my favourite builds love twins and would love to have one !! Thanks Allen 👍🏻🏴
6:30 that brought tears to my eyes.
Kicking-off a 2-stroke just brings back so many happy memories.
The YDS7 to the Lake District and back, oh there wasn't much sponge
on that seat.
Tracey: Allen, can you cook these sausages on the barbecue?
Allen: You can do that on a barbecue? What will they think of next.
Can we get some recognition for Allen's absolute MVP of a barbecue?
ALLEN ! You did it to me again. You scared the shit out of me. Haha, I literally jumped out of my seat when you fired up the bike with no pipes on it.
The bike sounds awesome. Another gem to add to the collection.
I teach Engineering, but this guy's skills are top draw. A true toolmaker engineer. A joy to watch Allen!
That bike runs amazing!I'm truly amazed when it reaches a certain rpm,it rips!
Allen that is definitely one of my favorite bikes that you have built. It is perfectly tuned and doesn't seem to suffer from detonation that is so common among 2 strokes. The carbs seem to be perfectly jetted and synchronized. Great job my friend.
This morning I took out my Swiss Army knife and built a rocket 🚀 to the moon.
Got back and had a delicious lunch!!!
Pure genius, love to ride this bike.
Thanks Alan 👍🏻👍🏻
Im a junior software developer. Have been thinking to get into building bikes, but thought It would take too much work for one person. seeing you build an engine alone, gave me all the movitvation I need. Just need to save up some money and start with small engines. Thanks Allen
There must be, somewhere. A man-cave with some 2stroke(AND 4stroke) engineering masterpieces.
Another beautiful Bike. Allen.
You're a true inspiration Allen. Although I don't have the confidence or facilities (yet) to accomplish the things that you have and do, your projects inspire me to take on the seemingly impossible. Well done sir!
What a beautiful sound. Can’t beat a two stroke with a whiff of Castrol R wafting from the rear end. Takes me back to my misspent youth.
Awesome! The year that was built I was 14 and at boarding school near Rye with around 20 acres of land to scramble my commandeered 200cc Triumph Tiger Cub. SO MUCH FUN. I wish I'd started learning about engineering. My career ended up being very different. But I still love engines and bikes.
Great video what a gentleman shut your eyes and drift back to when kH's and RD's were all the rage amazing sound stay safe looking forward to next one 🇬🇧👍🏻
Your creations are brilliant, we all can agree on that. But, your video production skills are on par with your beautiful motorcycles. Well done! The audio during the ride on part was great. God bless your neighbors and congrats on 100,000!
Allen that’s my dream bike.I had an RD 400 in high school and loved it your 500 is just a much better version
Alan is amazing, talented and inspiring individual. He makes everything looks so easy and clean. 1974 Kawasaki rebuild is just so informative. Love your work and videos
Allen,
A belated Congratulations on the 100k subscribers...
Take care
Paul,,
I'm speechless, simply amazed. Great job, a true master!
ME being an old Kawasaki mechanic from the 70s and having Work on all of those bikes and riding them to this is the most amazing CZcams channel I have found yet thank you very much and I love your accent and your style
Sounds fantastic. I use to own a 71’ H1 500 triple. Wish I still had it now.
Loving how "clean" the carburation is. Sounds beautiful 😍
Allen Millyard, a dream neighbour
Not when he's mowing the lawn, he's got a V8 Lawn mower with straight through pipes.
A dream to some, and a nightmare to others. I wish he was my neighbor though.
@@rayenbow3281 perfect
Incredible. How is it that one man in his backyard can create a bike that is more fun to ride than all the major manufacturers? New bikes today are boring. The sound of a two stroke on the pipe is awesome. I am going to go out and start my weed wacker so I can add the smell of a two stroke to that incredible sound. Thanks for sharing.
Just dropped by because of your thumbnail.
Firstly may I say your engineering skills far out surpasses anything I could dream of.
Thanks for putting a smile on my face, I can only imagine how happy you feel riding your awesome bike.
Thanks for watching
I must get myself a swiss army knife.
I bought a Chinese army knife once (like the Swiss one but made of *Crapite (Tm.) and **Shiteium 90 (Tm.).
The corkscrew unscrewed itself whilst opening a wine bottle and the knife blade went blunt whilst cutting paper (I was only using the knife to do this because the scissors broke trying to cut aforementioned single sheet of paper.
*Crapite is a form of Chinese alloy steel that has been recycled too many times, so has too many impurities causing it instantly rusts. Actually it is the only type of steel that can rust in a vacuum!!
**Shiteium 90 is a form of Chinese "aluminum" alloy that turns into shite after 90 days.
Hash tag not sponsored by swiss army knives, yet.😉
@@CZ350tuner you want the upgraded version, hand forged from chinesium. Its an alloyed metal containing bean cans and recycled bottle caps. Not only is it so hard that it will shear off the handle, it can hold an edge precisely long enough to cut you as it does so.
Next video he will machine the engine cases using only a Swiss army knife and weld it up using the barbecue. I would happily pimp my granny for that bike.
@@philelliott5327 Please send photo of Granny
This has probably been asked before but has Kawasaki ever commented on your creations?
Kawasaki should be making some of Alen's ideas. They wouls sell better than the 'retros' they make !
He's the CEO of KHI Skunkworks! But not everybody knows that so keep it quiet.
@@davidharris5736 I honestly find today's modern bikes to be absolute RUBBISH to use an English term. In American terms, modern bikes are ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. They lack any curbside appeal, and look like prototype NASA machines, and don't even closely resemble motorcycles. The lack of a rear fender on modern bikes makes me want to throw up. How did anyone think it was a good idea to hacksaw your rear fender off? The rear fender is there to stop mud and water from spraying on your girlfriend. It's kind of important. And what's with the angles. Everything is a sharp angle. And why are bikes so small, and so ugly? Something needs to change. Oh and the UGLY ASS triangle "wedge" mufflers which are just so ugly, they are beyond words. Modern bikes = INSTANT VOMIT.
This Bike sounds amazing. I want one. I own a couple of motorcycles but would not have a clue as to where to start building an engine. A Genius
@@Ritalie They're built to appeal to millenials. Millenials grew up watching different movies than we did. That's where the weird styling cues come from.
Congratulations on the CZcams award. Well deservered for what is a very interesting channel.
I remember riding a Suzuki GT500 twin back in the day, and it was a lovely bike and shot up to 100 mph no problem. I imagine this to be quite similar. Very smooth it was . Nice vid 🏆👍
Another masterpiece of motorcycle engineering, Allen, my friend Rick Brett was correct what he says about you. Totally awesome.
Allen the 500 twin sounds brilliant just love watching your videos you have great skills with metal thanks for making them for us.
Truly, Allen, you are the Hans Mezger of motorcycle engines!! Your imagination, design and fabrication skills bring such mechanical joy to all of us that were lucky enough to have owned the original bikes in the 70's and 80's that I can barely express my admiration! Congratulations on your CZcams subscriber award, it is certainly well-deserved!!
When we were young and foolish, bombing around on our mopeds ( I had a Casal...), The only bike I ever coveted was the Kawasaki KH250.
I could well be wrong, but I seem to remember that in those days you could ride a bike on a car licence up to 250cc.
Although I never got the KH250, I still love the shape, which is why I love this bike.
Most engineers would have considered those left over parts as scrap, but only Allen Millyard would look at it and think "I can make another engine out of that"!
In a country where engineering is a dying art, it is gratifying to know that great British engineering still exists.
But I wouldn't like to live next door to you!
