@@LaoTzuChi they did at the very beginning just to sort of break in I guess, but they focused on doubles. Doubles is a different game and requires different skillset such as very fast hands at the net and accurate returns.
@@Phtphu I think this shows that double doesn't mean anything anymore if one of the supposed strongest double in tennis history is defeated by a single champion + a single champion... If good players played double Bryan brothers would have never won 16 Grand Slam titles!

There is nothing wrong with that, especially at that level it is a good tactic. A match isn't about being friendly to each other. Also not tennis. It is about getting the ball over the net in the right box and try to do it in a way that it doesn't come back the right way. @@fabienh3943 you're mistaken, there are several books and other tennis sources that actually have targeting the body (not the head, but torso and lower) as part of strategy. @@danguee1 in terms of h2h against top players, Serena walks as you clearly pointed out that it’s Justine (Hingis and Venus too) who have a close H2H against Serena and she has dominated the rest (Davenport, Clijsters, Capriati, Mauresmo, Sharapova, Azarenka, Li Na, Kerber etc) and these aren’t crap players, they’ve topped rankings and won multiple GS across different decades (1990s - 2020). After watching this, really want Federer and Wawrinka to pair up for the ATP Cup and the Olympics. Any one of them will be a blast.
Roger may not be able to win in singles but certainly can still win in doubles with the right partner, hope he’ll keep playing forever...
yeah i would like to see him with Stan again defending their title in olypics

Rogers ability to ace at the critical moments would make him a formidable doubles player.

I would mention that too.

So nice to see Stan and Roger playing together. I enjoyed this video A LOT!!!
Wish the pandemic is over in 2021 and fans can see matches like this, with big and cheering crowds again.
It s not about the pandemic.
At 2:12 Wawrinka hit a 246 kph (153 mph) ace! That is nuts!
Wow
9:26 weirdest celebration Lolllll
That is because Stan gave Roger static electricity blast whenever Roger touched him. :-)
This was actually mentioned in Rogers biography by Chris Bowers. The inside joke was, Stan was on fire, so Roger was warming his hands over him!
Bryan Brothers were GOATs of doubles those days
With Federer on the forhand and Wawrinka on the backhand you can't fail really
They did fail against rafa and Moya

Anyone has 1080p source of this match?
Impressive. Stan was still far from being the GS winning player he ended up being at this point in his career
04:25 important volley here from Federer with good length.
That win celebration 😂

bruh imagine team switzerland at atp cup if these two played. would have been goated
