- Glencoe is perhaps Scotland’s most famous and most scenic glen. Located within the Lochaber Geopark in the Highlands, the deep valley and towering mountains were carved out by icy glaciers and volcanic explosions. Despite its sorrowful history, when an estimated 30 members and associates of Clan MacDonald of Glencoe were massacred by Scottish government forces, it is one of the most beautiful and other-worldly places in Scotland.
Music:
1. Tony McManus Sliabh Gal Cua/Kishor's Tune from Ceol More
2. Tommy Scott & Bill Garden Glencoe from Scottish Serenity
3. William Jackson Fairy Lullaby from Celtic Tranquility
4. William Jackson Mist Covered Mountains from Celtic Tranquility
Beautiful scenery and music to match.
Absolutely wonderful, thank you .
Last there in 1966, heading for Ardnamurchan. I can say that I've never seen the glen in such fair weather - astonishing. Pitching a tent on granite 2" under the turf is challenging. I will never forget.
Those must be happy memories!
Great Video and music. Thank you.
I want to go along that road again. Thanks for the video.
So do I Joanr! We were very lucky to see it this time in sunny weather too although it is dramatic whatever the weather. Hope you get to see it soon.
Przepiękne krajobrazy. Super!
Dziękuję!
Hi just stumbled on the video and really enjoyed watching it thank you.
Came down the A82 from Inverness to Glasgow last September in a motor home .One route i`d love to do again as the scenery was fantastic. Coming from FLAT East Anglia !!!.. every corner was a WOW look at that ,from the wife,, YOU HAVE CAPTURED THE JOURNEY ...👍👍
Pleased you enjoyed the video!
That was very nice the drive down Glen Etive brought back some memories of walking down there a few years ago on a Scottish Coast to Coast we carried on down to and walked the length of the Loch Etive toward Taynuilt and finally Oban
That sounds like quite a hike! How lovely.
@@christinamandacodgerinahat It was indeed started from Montrose I was a lot younger and fitter then compared to now Thanks for reply
One trimendous video with trimendous views & what can I say about the sky well it was so nice as well with lovely white clouds against a nice blue 🔵, so a very big thank you to one & another for this great video.
Thank you, John!
Just happened upon your video. Loved it and loved the music. Rekindled fond memories of a path well trod. Kudos to you guys.
Awwwww - thank you. Can’t go wrong with that glorious scenery!
Wow!!! Thank you so very much for uploading this video. Brilliant footage. I have got to drive this route!!!!!! Am hoping to visit Scotland late August but i guess it could be quite busy???? Thank you once again. Love Marilyn
Thanks for your kind comments. It certainly is a most dramatic route with fabulous scenery in both directions - driving up or down the Glen. It is very very busy particularly at weekends or a BH - but the mountains always dwarf the cars, motorhomes and coaches!
Only the last part is through Glen Etive.
Did you go to Skyfall scene ? The ending is unexpected, in unremarkable place ..
I haven't watched the film so I'm sorry - I don't know what you're refering to.
Ta muchly.
Beautiful but the road is a death trap
It is indeed a beautiful place but incredibly busy - especially on a sunny Saturday!
Only in the tourist season. I drive this road every day - live just off it - and the standard of driving from some of the tourists is horrendous. I saw a camper van doing a three point turn on the A82 (just about where this video starts) the other day because, presumably, they had come off the wrong exit at the roundabout at the bridge and found themselves heading for Fort William instead of Oban. (I've seen people* reversing* back round that roundabout too). It's not the road. It's the idiots.
