    Thought it was not good to spike a tree (I know palms are in the grass family) unless it was a takedown, wouldn't you agree? That's harms the tree and wounds it. This is how my father approaches tree trimming.

    Please, please, please....... quit spiking palm trees. This is so harmful and exposes the palm (or any tree for that matter) to infestation and disease. There are other safe and more efficient methods to pruning palms regardless of height. I beg all of you in the tree service industry to only spike a tree, palm or hardwood, if you are completely removing it. Best regards as always!
