When you get to the highest level of competition in anything, the highest level guys will use everything they can to gain an advantage and until something is specifically forbidden it's never the persons fault for playing that way. If a player can gain an advantage by doing something, it should never be the fault of the player doing it to do so. Imagine if people got annoyed at you for scoring more goals than your opponent because it gives you an advantage. "This guy only wins because he scores goals over and over again and there is nothing I can do about that".. yea ok? That's kinda the point lol.
Nothing wrong with what you did against sopuli, would do the same if i knew how to play😂. Anything the game allows for is to be used against an opponent, it is the same in the real life games too and thensome... It was so weird seeing you doing mistakes even i know to avoid in the second round game. I hope you find your groove again before the next qualis. 🎉

You also had time for a couple point shots and you passed to twirled on a circle. Your opponent even made a full line change I believe and you still opted to pass. Pathetic showing imo.
Imo nothing wrong with the final minute. But the fact that there was not ONE whistle in all of third period should give away most of the frustration here. Also that's why I can't change strats. Not a single whistle in the third, got the puck like 5 times in the final 25 minutes of the game. 5 on 1 situation just for memes really. Don't blame you for that decision one bit, though it would not be my decision if roles were reversed 👍
Couple things here. Why wouldn't you change them earlier? Maybe at the start of the 3rd? You're down and you've been the player with less puck posession the whole series? And I do get full pressure and everything being frustrating (it's bad system obviously). But I've personally played and encouraged everyone else the entire year to play agressive on defence just because of the system. At the end of the day if you dont want your opponents to take advantage of it, or get puck posession, why even play with protect net in first place?

Also I tied it up twice in game 1 from you losing the puck in my zone when cycling behind the net / at the boards. So I would assume 20 minutes would be well enough time to make it even again (which, it very well could've been with for example me stealing the puck on the blue line with 15min left in the game for a "breakaway". (un)fortunately full pressure went on literally the same second, allowing your player to make it back and stop the breakaway)

For me when I'm down I'm trying to speed up the game for my opponent to create as many opportunities for myself as possible. And when I have the lead, protect it as good as I can. Especially in a tournament situation when I'm leading, I don't want to give my opponent the puck too easily. Like I've said I understand if people don't like that but I'm just giving myself the best opportunity to win. But there is a lot of stuff the defending team can do as well to counter it IMO. Against Temppanen I rarely had the opportunity to slow down the game even when I was up. But ggs and nothing but respect for you like I said in the video. No sympathy because you have creators (nobody specifically and it includes all genre of games) who say that there are issues with games and call out companies to act like they are on side with you and me, yet brush them aside or backtrack so they can kept in the company's good books or partake in events. Unless a huge game fails to deliver, say GTA 6 which I don't want to happen either, where even the casual player recognises that these companies don't have the right priorities then I'd be very surprised if we see huge changes coming. Especially to sports games.
I think.. ea had good intentions.. but in higher divisions.. it basically makes o zone ragging possible. Even worse.. once it wears off... the team effected basically has a useless line on the ice.

Obviously I'm trying to take advantage of that like I have always done, literally full pressure as a future encourages you to do so. I was just playing as well as I thought at the time. Also like I stated when Sopuli went for the line change, if I wouldn't have scored it's going 4-1 or something the other way with less than 30 seconds remaining. Yah it still don’t make it a fun addition!! Ea really need to scale it way back along with nba jam style hitting. It feels like players a arcade style nhl game instead of a more realistic one!! Also goalies that ain’t giants need to be usable as this is countless years that we can’t use short goalies. Then the most important fix is endurance because every card that ai t a msp is usually lacking in endurance and with arcade hits you put you brand new 90 overall jack Eichel on your first line with that great 84 endurance and a 5ft 5 woman gives him a shove and you are either stuck changing the entire line or playing a man down as he is now ineffective!! Ea really didn’t think this pressure system through!! Even if cards had hi 90’s endurance and scale back the amount of energy you lose when get pushed lmfao it would probably be better!! Great job again this year ea yet another nail in the nhl franchise’s coffin. We need another developer to step up and make a nhl game to create some competition as ea knows if peoples want to scratch that itch to play a hockey game every October they can keep the rinse and repeat thing going as no one else is in direct competition with them!!
I would like to see the option of holding switch button to change players assigned to a button( triangle for center, square for left wing circle for right wing and so on) also holding the L2 should keep your player while playing D to shadow the attacking player like in the nba games. And for god sake turn up the ai defensive awareness. Cross crease should not work when you have defensive players with high defensive awareness it’s just not a realistic game at all. Ai is one of the worst things about the game like when your skating with or without the puck and getting stuck to your own players as they won’t move out of the way cost me so many goals along with own goals because once again ai goalies are so dumb. The game is better that last year and the 2 years before but still need a lot of work. The only thing that gets noticeably better each year is card art lmfao. Micro transactions and pay to win is all ea cares about. Look at be a pro it’s identical for I believe 3 years now. You agent at the cabin in the mountains while your out playing shinny hockey oh my. Even if 2k started making nhl games again just to put pressure on ea to invest more money into developing our beloved franchise instead of rinse and repeat with great card art!!
I appreciate your explanation. I think the game would be better if EA allowed players to change all strategies mid-game. Since we can already change some strategies (ie full forecheck to protect lead) then changing from collapsing to tight point or staggered should be doable. That said, you keeping possession of the puck at the end was equivalent to end-game situations of American football where teams take a knee instead of running or throwing the ball. It's part of the game and you made the correct decision.

Gotta agree with Sopuliii, it's in the game and everyone has access to it, but it's so lame considering stuff like puck pickups and player switching are still broken and could be the difference between a win and a loss. I've gotten to the point where I stopped playing HUT completely because pressure makes it no fun. I've quit games mid-play before because it's obvious my opponent is ragging. And I think EKI knows it's a lame move, or else he wouldn't be bringing it up. It's in the game, but it's lame to do it, and not shooting on a 5 on 1, I'm sorry but there's little justification for that
Eki starts ragging halfway in the 2nd. Never shot the puck from this point on when he had plenty of chances. 9 shots with 21 TOA. Reached full pressure 3 times in the 3rd period without shooting it once. 5 on 1 in the o-zone and just skates around. He knows it’s a shitty way to play but still does it. Asshole move TBH.
I mean, you can call it whatever you want, you said it yourself, you rag dolled and will never know if he might have tied had you actually continued playing. Not sure Id say “you won” more than you didnt lose (that game). If you as good as you think, you should be able to use your skill to keep playing to get the win. If you have to resort to cowering away from actual play and you feel good about that win…, thats on you.
For me, I think that it’s a bigger problem with the game than the player… I think that the player offensive zone ragging is a problem just like defensive zone ragging was… I think that there’s some easy changes to help this, to me I think that pressure should come from hits and shots, not just holding onto the puck, and on top of that the defense should be able to play better defense… I fully understand the comp style offensive zone ragging, and that’s why I definitely think that the game needs to change to make players change the way they play… just like defensive zone ragging was changed and people don’t do it anymore. To an extent, I get blaming the players, but the game itself needs to change for the better… perhaps lower the total time for pressure from 30 -> 20 or something
Crazy how Eki cuts up all the clips of him o zone tagging then proceeds to lose the game. So the only thing he can resort to is ragging him even harder and not even allowing him to touch the puck for an entire periods. Can’t wait to watch Eki rag at the main tourney!!!

We need to talk about 12:53. Nice to have it in such a game. The attacking McD with Puck and a bit less energy is faster than the McD without puck. I lost a game recently in OT directly after the opening faceoff, where a 85 NoH Hedman ran away with puck my ToTy 99 speed Makar. De facto the same angles, same goal. What is this BS EA? The game is manipulating so often and it doesn't make sense.

The amount of "ragging" that is used to exploit this full pressure system just to "win" is actuall BULLLSHITTT. I get that we all wanna win ranked matches and most importantly fairly and with some fun invovled. But this aint it EA.... A team full of base golds could exploit this system and get div1 with a good enough person behind the controller... Isn't it funny? The EA Posterboy EKI damaged the image of this game. I didn't expect him to get that low. There are others, who exploit this game to the max and aren' t as skilled as he is. But now everyone could see how broken this game really is. EA has to react and try to fix it, or the GWC and other tournaments will be a desaster. Noone wants to see ragging the whole game after one leads 1:0, but it could happen.
Technically the ability to keep the puck alive like that in the offensive zone is impressive and not everyone can do it. Ethically, it's pretty annoying for the person having it done to them as well as to those of us watching. I think the solution is for EA to make it harder for you to do that. If you are doing that much passing, cutting back and forth on the ice, twisting to protect, you should have to change your lines more frequently or risk gassing your players. Unfortunately the penalty this game iteration is that the defender gets gassed first and has to manage that while the ragger loses stamina at a normal rate and suffers no consequence. The game is designed to reward you for that unethical play style. That's unfortunate, but at the same time if I was playing for higher stakes, I can't say I wouldn't do it.
How does Sopulli say that he is not playing passively when he turns away from the puck carrier every time he gets close? Not pressing all the way at the boards or blue line was his mistake here. Also don’t understand all the hate here for playing like you want to keep a lead when he is also clearly playing to not get scored on. The line change is potentially a horrible situation with a turnover and people saying that clear goals were passed up are ignoring some of the saves these goalies make out of nowhere. Imo, nothing wrong with keeping control in your hands and people clearly ignore that this is a competitive situation, not burst rivals in d4
Also I like to point out that Sopulis defencestyle Is one of the things which should be removed from this game, standing front of your goalie with 3 man Is just too efective, especially if you cannot create offense so he just waited turnover. If you play that way, you should expect to also to opponent have a patience to look opportunities. And If you are down by one goal, you should change tactics and your playing, that is why Sopuli Is not the Best player in the world. How he complained after the game Is understandable, but game Is how it Is, and for some reason some people win others in that. You can cry about it, or try to figure out to be better next time, or change some other game.
This is why chel is dead after 2 months, same cheese cross crease goals and abusing full pressure now this year. It’s impressive there’s still enough ppl for competitive competition

I’ve been watching your Vids for a few years now and you seem to be a good guy that is gifted at playing a hockey game that said I watched your opponents video on this game and it was mostly the whole third period that you are doing it.Ragging has been frowned on for years and to see a top elite player doing. It just isn’t cool on my eyes.
Ragging isn't anything new. That's all it was. You ragged him to ensure the win. Any commentary on it is just fluff. If you are pro ragging you don't mind if you think it's dirty you hate it. I hate it personally and understand if others disagree but just call it what it is.

Looks like EA also nerfed you a bit with the ice tilt. No way they are gonna let the number one seed just come in a run through it. No way with your skill set from what I’ve seen would you miss that many shots. Happens all the time in rivals. If your record or team is better, hold on tight because you won’t be getting any breaks…. That last goal off your defender was absolute trash. Play a great game having to fight but then they allow that muffin. Yea, that’s EA and their backend sliders to make it “competitive”
The line change and the resulting 5 on 1 is what seems to be making people mad but at that point, he is basically throwing the game by changing his lines. What difference does it make then if Eki scores or just keeps the puck, the game is over either way. If you shoot and miss, half the other team is behind your defense. Plus, Sopulii had 55 out of the 60 game minutes to score and couldn't. Another thing people don't mention is that it takes skill to rag the puck against an opponent of this caliber. It's boring AF to watch and it's anti-hockey but the broken mechanic it exploits is the real problem here. Why not put an action timer on it. You don't take a shot after 10 seconds, the pressure resets. It would at least be closer to real hockey.

Yah it still don’t make it a fun addition!! Ea really need to scale it way back along with nba jam style hitting. It feels like players a arcade style nhl game instead of a more realistic one!! Also goalies that ain’t giants need to be usable as this is countless years that we can’t use short goalies. Then the most important fix is endurance because every card that ai t a msp is usually lacking in endurance and with arcade hits you put you brand new 90 overall jack Eichel on your first line with that great 84 endurance and a 5ft 5 woman gives him a shove and you are either stuck changing the entire line or playing a man down as he is now ineffective!! Ea really didn’t think this pressure system through!! Even if cards had hi 90’s endurance and scale back the amount of energy you lose when get pushed lmfao it would probably be better!! Great job again this year ea yet another nail in the nhl franchise’s coffin. We need another developer to step up and make a nhl game to create some competition as ea knows if peoples want to scratch that itch to play a hockey game every October they can keep the rinse and repeat thing going as no one else is in direct competition with them!!
I would like to see the option of holding switch button to change players assigned to a button( triangle for center, square for left wing circle for right wing and so on) also holding the L2 should keep your player while playing D to shadow the attacking player like in the nba games. And for god sake turn up the ai defensive awareness. Cross crease should not work when you have defensive players with high defensive awareness it’s just not a realistic game at all. Ai is one of the worst things about the game like when your skating with or without the puck and getting stuck to your own players as they won’t move out of the way cost me so many goals along with own goals because once again ai goalies are so dumb. The game is better that last year and the 2 years before but still need a lot of work. The only thing that gets noticeably better each year is card art lmfao. Micro transactions and pay to win is all ea cares about. Look at be a pro it’s identical for I believe 3 years now. You agent at the cabin in the mountains while your out playing shinny hockey oh my. Even if 2k started making nhl games again just to put pressure on ea to invest more money into developing our beloved franchise instead of rinse and repeat with great card art!!

I appreciate your explanation. I think the game would be better if EA allowed players to change all strategies mid-game. Since we can already change some strategies (ie full forecheck to protect lead) then changing from collapsing to tight point or staggered should be doable. That said, you keeping possession of the puck at the end was equivalent to end-game situations of American football where teams take a knee instead of running or throwing the ball. It's part of the game and you made the correct decision.
Honestly don’t mind the ragging, but after watching u quit the game before your loss I ain’t an Eik fan anymore. Let the game finish out. Great winner but such a poor loser.

There’s no such thing as ragging IN THE OFFENSIVE ZONE. The defender has to pressure the attacker.

He o-zone ragged. There was an instance he was in the slot and had a clean lane to the goalie and he curled back. He also had time for a couple point shots and passed or twirled in a circle. His opponent even made a full line change I believe and he still opted to pass around when he barely had players out there. Pathetic showing imo.

Gotta agree with Sopuliii, it's in the game and everyone has access to it, but it's so lame considering stuff like puck pickups and player switching are still broken and could be the difference between a win and a loss. I've gotten to the point where I stopped playing HUT completely because pressure makes it no fun. I've quit games mid-play before because it's obvious my opponent is ragging.
And I think EKI knows it's a lame move, or else he wouldn't be bringing it up. It's in the game, but it's lame to do it, and not shooting on a 5 on 1, I'm sorry but there's little justification for that
Eki starts ragging halfway in the 2nd. Never shot the puck from this point on when he had plenty of chances. 9 shots with 21 TOA. Reached full pressure 3 times in the 3rd period without shooting it once. 5 on 1 in the o-zone and just skates around. He knows it’s a shitty way to play but still does it. Asshole move TBH.
It’s a tournament for money, if you had the chance to win then you would do anything to win, even if that calls for some puck ragging.

I naturally play defensive and this just makes the game unplayable for me.
For me, I think that it’s a bigger problem with the game than the player… I think that the player offensive zone ragging is a problem just like defensive zone ragging was… I think that there’s some easy changes to help this, to me I think that pressure should come from hits and shots, not just holding onto the puck, and on top of that the defense should be able to play better defense… I fully understand the comp style offensive zone ragging, and that’s why I definitely think that the game needs to change to make players change the way they play… just like defensive zone ragging was changed and people don’t do it anymore. To an extent, I get blaming the players, but the game itself needs to change for the better… perhaps lower the total time for pressure from 30 -> 20 or something
Crazy how Eki cuts up all the clips of him o zone tagging then proceeds to lose the game. So the only thing he can resort to is ragging him even harder and not even allowing him to touch the puck for an entire periods. Can’t wait to watch Eki rag at the main tourney!!!

We need to talk about 12:53. Nice to have it in such a game. The attacking McD with Puck and a bit less energy is faster than the McD without puck. I lost a game recently in OT directly after the opening faceoff, where a 85 NoH Hedman ran away with puck my ToTy 99 speed Makar. De facto the same angles, same goal.

These are my only thoughts on what u did against Sopulii. What u did wasn’t nice. It was a joke and honestly an overall terrible thing to do to someone. That being said, I understand it. This is competitive. U have to make the right call for important tourneys. I don’t hate u or dislike u for it. It’s what u gotta do to win and I respect that all too well. Besides, you wouldn’t be doing that in the first place! EA brought the new pressure system into the game. U just used it for what it’s meant to do. It’s not on u by any means. EA did this. They brought the pressure system into the game and u utilized it properly to win the game and move onto the next bracket of the tourney. I honestly can’t fathom a world in which this should fall back on u. Like I guess u made the decision to play like that and although it’s not very good but it’s smart like I said. Mannnn it’s not your fault that EA can’t create adaptive thinking ai. I feel the same way when my opponent just holds the puck in my zone for 10 years. You can only control 1 guy, if the other 4 are just standing there with their thumbs up their asses, nothing you can do.
You need to play more passive when versing someone like temp. Don’t try to hit him when he’s skating down the ice. He’s going to blow past you and get a half break

This game was bad but it was still not unplayable. With your antics EA decided to nerf everything and make it unplayable, so congrats.
Technically the ability to keep the puck alive like that in the offensive zone is impressive and not everyone can do it. Ethically, it's pretty annoying for the person having it done to them as well as to those of us watching.
I think the solution is for EA to make it harder for you to do that. If you are doing that much passing, cutting back and forth on the ice, twisting to protect, you should have to change your lines more frequently or risk gassing your players. Unfortunately the penalty this game iteration is that the defender gets gassed first and has to manage that while the ragger loses stamina at a normal rate and suffers no consequence. The game is designed to reward you for that unethical play style. That's unfortunate, but at the same time if I was playing for higher stakes, I can't say I wouldn't do it.
If it is allowed you should do anything to win, alot of money on the line. 100% on your side.

How does Sopulli say that he is not playing passively when he turns away from the puck carrier every time he gets close? Not pressing all the way at the boards or blue line was his mistake here.
Also don’t understand all the hate here for playing like you want to keep a lead when he is also clearly playing to not get scored on. The line change is potentially a horrible situation with a turnover and people saying that clear goals were passed up are ignoring some of the saves these goalies make out of nowhere. Imo, nothing wrong with keeping control in your hands and people clearly ignore that this is a competitive situation, not burst rivals in d4
Also I like to point out that Sopulis defencestyle Is one of the things which should be removed from this game, standing front of your goalie with 3 man Is just too efective, especially if you cannot create offense so he just waited turnover.
If you play that way, you should expect to also to opponent have a patience to look opportunities. And If you are down by one goal, you should change tactics and your playing, that is why Sopuli Is not the Best player in the world.
How he complained after the game Is understandable, but game Is how it Is, and for some reason some people win others in that. You can cry about it, or try to figure out to be better next time, or change some other game.

I’ve been watching your Vids for a few years now and you seem to be a good guy that is gifted at playing a hockey game that said I watched your opponents video on this game and it was mostly the whole third period that you are doing it.Ragging has been frowned on for years and to see a top elite player doing. Happens all the time in rivals. If your record or team is better, hold on tight because you won’t be getting any breaks…. That last goal off your defender was absolute trash. Play a great game having to fight but then they allow that muffin. Yea, that’s EA and their backend sliders to make it “competitive”

The line change and the resulting 5 on 1 is what seems to be making people mad but at that point, he is basically throwing the game by changing his lines. What difference does it make then if Eki scores or just keeps the puck, the game is over either way. If you shoot and miss, half the other team is behind your defense. Plus, Sopulii had 55 out of the 60 game minutes to score and couldn't.
Another thing people don't mention is that it takes skill to rag the puck against an opponent of this caliber. It's boring AF to watch and it's anti-hockey but the broken mechanic it exploits is the real problem here. Why not put an action timer on it. You don't take a shot after 10 seconds, the pressure resets. It would at least be closer to real hockey.
