I love that this video is made so that even new pokemon players will understand it, like people watching because they enjoy Markiplier, but there's no elaboration on "They have Among Us" lmao
Amoongus (the pokeball mushroom pokemon; it has regenerator; not a competitive player however and can't elaborate further)
Sussy
“Imposter Amoongus/Among Us” caused uncontrollable laughter from me
@@MLG35U5 It's really beefy, has a 100% accurate sleep move, and can redirect attacks. There's an item (Safety Goggles) that is almost entirely useless outside of ignoring Spore and Rage Powder, and Amoongus is such a threat that some formats see double digit % of Pokemon using it
It makes sense because the poke ball mushroom thing is called amoonguss so most people call it among us
Wolfe: Wait wait wait!
Me: Oh, he’s about to reveal some awesome strategy he just realized he could pull off! What could it be?
Wolfe: hehe imposter amongus
highlight of the video, i thought he had some genius master plan but nope, funny impostor among us lmao

Oooh I agree
They were actuall from among the pokemon Wolfe would smash
I would specifically love to learn more about the playtesting he does, and how much time he spends testing certain mons/strats.
This is peak content made better by having a competitive player do it. Editing is getting better too, awesome job 💯

You misspelled "World champ".
Honestly Primarina is so underrated. Like literally everywhere I see it it just does more than you would expect, whether that is VGC, singles or playthroughs.
Primarina isn't seen much in competitive pokémon because while it is really good, it's sadly overshadowed by Tapu Fini most of the time. In most cases, there's no reason to use Primarina when you can use Tapu Fini.
@@alcatrazia Not quite true. While Fini is better overall, Primarina has much higher Special Attack, Hydro Cannon for stronger max moves, better coverage and Liquid Voice.

Wolfe, the editing has made the content come so far, supreme YouTubist over here. For real you make everything so transparent and easy to understand through the extra editing. If you were a Pokémon in the smogon meta, you’d be in AG, because you’re just too damn good.

I never expected Wolfey to make a video like this, but I LOVE IT. This is hilarious HAHAHAHA
Who's the artist of your pfp?
Wolfey just want to say your content keeps getting better and better, love everything you’ve been doing here!
I love that you've been able to keep your chaotic vibe even with the amazing edited content!
The quality of this video is pretty remarkable. I really like the direction the channel has gone
I mean Wolfe 'The Pokemon Champion' Glick did SMASH the opposition with this team.
Bro, this is my first time seeing your updated editing with the popups for key info, the voiceover and replays in-between the stream highlights, It all flows so well dude. The fact that you can turn off the stream voice and replace it with a post voice over, while keeping the game audio is so dope.
This is definitely the most watchable your content has ever been.
This new direction in content is incredible! I feel like i could show my friends this (they dont play pokemon) and they'd actually understand it good job wolfe :)
I think he definitely made more of an effort this video to explain some concepts that most people who don't watch competitive pokemon won't know. Makes sense if people who watched Markipliers video might end up watching this.
Thanks for the wideo Wolfey, I miss the two hour long trials for number 1, if there's a place I can watch those still, I would be very happy. After all, I think these shorter, scripted wideos are a good step in the right direction for the channel and I don't want your success to be hampered. Thanks again for the awesome content!
I agree, the glaceon to number 1 6 hour saga is one of my favourite videos on the channel
You can always watch the vods
@David Foster Yeah, I love those!
strong agree, i hope he does the same thing he did w the jaiden video
Could double dip and upload the stream footage that this has clips from. Did make sense to have such a highly edited and shorter video here though because of the pull this video will have building off of the Markiplier vid
Loving these heavily edited videos Wolfey! I imagine it took a lot of effort to edit hours of ranked climb down into this length, but it makes it easier for more casual audience to take in.
Love these short videos, but I will say I do miss the 2+ hour vids of wolfey grinding rank 1 with various things. Great for background watching when eating, gaming, or falling asleep to! Just thought I’d share!
There's always the VODs channel :)
You're describing the VODs, lol
I love that you are just destroying the ranking ladders with other youtubers favorite Pokémon. I really enjoy the post analysis you did on this video as well. Helps me to understand how a top player like yourself thinks in a scenario so I can be better. Keep making awesome content man!
really appreciate the edited take on these challenges, haven't had the time to watch the full several hour bouts these used to be and your added in commentary helps learn some Wacky Pokemon Mechanics
I love how Wolfey was in the middle of an intense match and he finds a way to crack an among us joke
I subbed 2 years ago and I have to say that the improvement in the quality of your videos has been extremely noticeable. Your efforts have seriously paid off for the viewer.
These themed team videos are definitely some of my favorites. I love the analysis of the meta, you’re making me want to get into competitive.
This idea is genius. I can tell you have been planning for this for a while. Masterfully done Wolfey!
This is one of the best videos I have seen from you! Great editing and the post commentary makes it really easy to understand your thought process and the complicated mechanics going on in battle. Love it Wolfey!
Truly incredible to see just how much the content quality has skyrocketed here and how far this channel has come since the days where Wolfe would upload videos with zero editing. Undoubtedly the best VGC content out there and it isnt even close. Cant wait to see whats in store!
The editing and commentary made this challenge video much more accessible to a vcg layman such as myself, so please keep that up! Also great meme to make a challenge out of.
This is your best video yet. Super engaging and a good balance between calls to action and content. You're killing it Wolfey!
Congrats on 100 million total views man. The quality of your content has gone up SOOO much since I last watched 1.5-2ish years ago. You totally deserve it and I’m stoked to start to catch up on the content I missed
Honestly I love the editing on this one, would be great if future ladder wideos are edited like this too!
The way you narrated over the top of this really made me understand VGC a lot more
I couldn't watch your other rank 1 videos because I'm out of the loop on strats so it always went over my head but you explaining these battles with this new editing is awesome. Always great content 👌
Thank you for including explanations during the plays about what the Pokemon can do, why they're trouble, why a certain move was used, etc. I always get lost watching competitive battles but now I feel like I can keep up. Super interesting and charming content!
This was such a good video. Really refreshing! loved the editing too
im literally SO EXCITED for gen 9 and its competetive meta and seeing youre vids for it!!!
That match with Ditto copying Zacian was just *chef's kiss*
I never find myself bored watching you climb the ladder, stay amazing Wolfey. I work from home and I enjoy your longer videos playing while I get my work done.
The editing on this is amazing, it's really understandeable and I appreciate the visuals taken to illustrate a point!
Loved this 😍 I miss the team analysis at the start though, would have been nice to get a high level view of why you chose each pokemon 👍
Wolfey's facial expressions are a comedy genre unto themselves. Premium content, happy to be a subscriber.
This wideo is the perfect balance of analysis-mode Wolfe and heat-of-battle Wolfe. Thank you for taking the time to make this; it’s incredibly enjoyable!
The new editing style, is what gained you my sub. It's so refreshing to have commentary with interesting/engaging visuals
This is one of the best Pokémon videos of any kind I’ve ever seen.
Such a good video, a perfect blend between your expert commentary and super funny natural charisma. Having bits of your live commentary was a great idea and the little signs made it really accessible for newer viewers hope you keep using this style in future wideos.
The editing definitely is getting better, and it makes the videos that much more enjoyable. I loved the editing for the explanation of Ditto going to +2 attack. Also, loved it when it said under things Suicune does 'Steal your girlfriend'
Love the edited style of “How I got to be the best in the world with ____ team”. It’s a lot easier to follow the process of Wolfe in the games and the editing style is super awesome. Big fam
Wolfe you wildin' and I'm here for it
Really high quality video as always, enough detail to allow me to understand choices you made, and not overly complicated that it got boring. amazing job
Watching Wolfe learn how to make algorithm friendly yet still big brained and interesting videos in real time is something I didn't know I needed until I started getting interested in making videos again. Keeping going Wolfe, been watching you since 2017! A real YouTubist is you.
This is a great wideo, Wolfe. Really, really entertaining and well-explained.
Wolfey is so big brained, he was able to make a perfect among us reference using Ditto and Amoonguss.
Thank you for making an edited video for one of these! While the longer uncut videos can be fun, I definitely don't always have the time to commit to watching them all the way through.
Love having the voice over to explain extra details too, such a great video Wolfey!
Thank you for doing a shorter edit for these kind of videos. Appreciated by everyone who doesn’t have the time to watch a two hour video
The man is a world champ, and a complete genius
13:13 when the Mystery Dungeon Theme played, i got knocked back to my childhood so hard. Really nice Video !
I love the little notes to explain complex abilities and items. It helps a lot. Nice wideo Wolfey.
Little did Markiplier know that one singular video would cause consequences and reverberations in the world extending far beyond anything he could imagine.
If @Markiplier collaborated with wolfey their chaotic and charismatic characteristics would synergize very well.
Wolf coaches Markiplier to get Master ball tier with Pokemons he smashes?
Great Wideo Wolfe!! Definitely prefer this over the long form vods of streams of ur Ranked No.1 series!
Dude your editing is getting insane! I hope those sub numbers keep climbing even higher and I look forward to every vid you put out
damn wicked blow always crits huh... i love the funny bear, I NEED to get the dlc some day!
That last game was the definition of world champ difference
A challenge idea I have to to use a rainbow team, with each Pokémon being a different color of the rainbow. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. The Pokémon for each color have to mostly be the color they’re representing. To make it extra hard, maybe don’t use the top 50 most used Pokémon in ladder.
I always love seeing the variety of teams that come from this series. Looking forward to the next one!
Question:
Will the vods of this be released or is this the kind of content to expect moving forward with a diminished presence on Twitch?
Do you and secure the bag, I just know I for one love the longer "stream of conciousness" type of Wolfey wideos.
Gratz on 500k!!!
Have you checked wolfeyvods yet? Im sure it exists

Yoooo I was missing this kind of competitive content, I think the edits are amazing to keep more casual fans watching since they may not know what everything does while not being very intrusive
Great content, you're completely cracked. Bonus points for the AA music at the end 👌
Primarina being so clutch makes me happy. Always loved her.
I saw the notification and laughed my ass off 😂
Loved the video and the editing done. I prefer the longer videos for this type of video you’ve done but this was good and I’m in the minority for liking the longer vids im sure
2022 Wolfey is my favorite arc, the nostalgia is wild too. I love the newer vids but nothing really beats this long form type of content❤ Love you and your work Wolf !
Congrats man...
You smashed it.
This man is so good that when he does challenges he gets number 1 in the world even though he’s at a disadvantage
honestly never thought about it like this 😂 he literally just sits down on a weekend with a joke team and gets to number one same afternoon regardless of what pokemon he has to use lol
Love the edited content, but also hoping the entire vod is uploaded too!!
I really appreciate when you make videos that branch out to people who may not be familiar with VGC, and take steps to make the content easier to understand. I used to help with in person play pokemon events, and I always had a hard time when people who weren't as familiar with competitive pokemon showed up. obviously I want to be inclusive as possible but a lot of the language we are used to using can be very overwhelming to newer players so it could be kind of tricky but i think you do a really good job of simplifying the explanations without talking down to the viewers. It's super awesome to see a channel like yours reaching out and getting people more acquainted with the game I love so much
ngl series 12 has been pretty boring to me so far but the editing on this video makes it actually engaging to follow along, even though i already knew about the mechanical quirks you were explaining. hope to see more content in this style in the future.
I’m still waiting for your smash or pass list Wolfey
I love these kinds of videos. I don't really know anything about competitive pokemon, but you make it seem like you can win with a lot of different pokemon rather than just one set META team.
Your editing skills have gone through the roof recently and I am loving it.
"This bear is anything but funny" got me so hard that i could not stop laughing.
Imagine watching WolfeyVGC, getting al this amazing and highly entertaining content and NOT subscribing. Couldnt be me
This is fantastic! It’s so informative and well-edited that I am sure that even people without competitive Pokémon knowledge would understand.
For anyone who wanted to watch the unedited version, do you plan on uploading the VoDs on a separate channel or saving them as highlights on your Twitch?
I like these videos. And would even love to see them in the long format as well. Sorta fun to see you talking about your decision making during these battles.
I also made a Markiplier team! It ended up being
Blaziken with Life Orb, Detect, Flare Blitz, Close Combat, and Thunder Punch as my main restricted killer,
Lunala with Sitrus/Enigma Berry, Moongeist Beam, Wide Guard, Moonlight, and Trick room as a very tanky supportive mon,
Tapu Fini with Leftovers, Muddy Water, Draining Kiss, Calm Mind, and Heal Pulse for a sort of jack of all trades,
Mandibuzz with Psychic Seed, Foul Play, Tailwind, Taunt, and Roost for another great support mon,
Dragalge with Assault Vest, Draco Meteor, Sludge Bomb, Focus Blast, and Flip Turn as my Trick Room sweeper,
and finally, G-Max Cinderace with Expert Belt, Protect, Iron Head, Sucker Punch, and Bounce.
Most games, the plan was to lead with Blaziken and some supportive option, Detect turn 1, then outspeed and one shot on turn 2. Lunala synergized very well with Blaziken, as Wide Guard could stop Surf, Earthquake, Precipice Blades, Water Spout, Origin Pulse, and Electroweb, none of which Blaziken liked taking. It also blocked Snarl, a fairly common move that wipes the floor with Lunala thanks to its typing. Jolly Blaziken could outspeed and one shot a lot of mons after one Speed Boost, including non-max Speed Zacian and Kyogre, but would often die soon after. Lunala could then Trick Room, and at the end of the turn I could switch in Tapu Fini or Dragalge, who are decent and incredible under Trick Room, respectively. With Moonlight, and no speed investment, Lunala could often heal back to full after it got a Trick Room up, making it nearly unkillable by anything that doesn't have Sucker Punch or isn't an Yveltal. Tapu Fini can either set up or start dealing damage right away, and was a decent Dynamax option, but if you wanted massive damage, you went to Dragalge. Adaptability meant that it had a 2x multiplier on its STAB moves instead of just 1.5x, and after Dynamaxing, Sludge Bomb would turn into Max Ooze, which doesn't get any stronger, but also doesn't get any weaker, along with boosting your Special Attack every time you use it. Mandibuzz was another great lead option; leading any combo of Blaziken, Tapu Fini, and Mandibuzz would allow it to get a Special Defense boost with a switch on turn 1, and it's actually fast enough to outspeed Calyrex-Shadow after a tailwind. Roost also meant it was very, very hard to kill. Cinderace was the last mon I added to the team, and is very matchup dependant. It's a very good Dynamax option with Max Steelspike and Max Airstream, and the G-Max factor is likely to make the opponent think Cinderace has Pyro Ball, which, of course, it does not. I would sometimes lead Blaziken and Cinderace for very offensive games, with Lunala and Tapu Fini in the back, since there would never be enough time to get up a Trick Room for Dragalge.
Overall, I'm very happy with my team, and I've had pretty good success with it. Though, I didn't *quite* get to #1 in the world.
Speaking of which, congrats, Wolfey, you've done it again! I'm excited to watch the full video to see what tricks you've packed into the team. Keep up the amazing work!
The nekkid Ditto moment was gold 🥇
I really appreciate the way this video is made with a newer player in mind and explaining the mechanics. It’s the kind of video that would have helped me a lot when starting out in VGC.
