PSM was amazing as Fallon. The one and only!
The buildup and the acting was so intense, I remember being right in the moment. My brain tried to tell me they probably wouldn't "go there" but I almost screamed with Fallon anyway.

i tink bellwood was great in this scene..she was kept around as an eventual love interest for Steven....but they kept her around way to long...and she shld have become a casualty of the Moldavia massacre...she served no purpose in season 6...all she did during season 6 was appear bitter and vindictive....she told Krystle she was the most dangerous Carrington of them all...walking around the mansion with her fresh cut flowers masking the smell of bullshit...blake was good to Claudia...very ggod...he paid for her stints in the mental ward not once but twice..s

I think it’s because Claudia realized how much BS Adam was feeding her in order to stroke his own ego....like wisking her away and in grand gestures making her think he truly loved her, when I think he was trying to one up Steven, like “You weren’t man enough to satisfy your wife, but I am!!!!” Then after the chase was over, Adam had no interest in Claudia anymore, so she got a bit angry and then lost her sanity against at the end of season 6
Pamela bellwood is such a good actress. Claudia was my favorite character. Pamela sue Martin was good too as Fallon such realistic crying.
Why even though I knew it was a Doll...I still Screamed out loud when the Doll flew off the roof...lMAO!

Wow, Pamela Bellwood (Claudia) is very beautiful in this scene. I loved the character of Claudia on "Dynasty", she was a great asset to the show. I hated that they thought they had to kill her off in the hotel fire at the end of the 1985-1986 season.

It’s great master scene or black comedy they thought their baby died turned to doll . Thank you for remained us of our beautiful childhood memories. When we were in middle school we watched this series after finishing our homework at slept . Next day in the morning we mentioned the events of previous episode we watched last night in the classroom.

I've watched this clip a few times, and I think I remember actually seeing this when it first aired on ABC.
Since it wasn't revealed until the end of the hour that the "baby" was really a doll imagine how scary this scene must have look to the at home audience.

I remember they really tried to jump the shark that season... that had everybody messed up for a minute. Lmfao... I remember my grandmother screaming at the top of her lungs....Oh Lord! Lmfao
What some may not realize is back then, televisions did not have the screen size and were not as visually clear (quality/HD) as what we have today. Often they would take the recorded film and have to "downgrade" it to make it deliverable/fit to TV. Although the most keen eye may have caught it being a doll, many people would likely not (and/or would have been distracted by the scene).
Exactly! I’m glad someone has mentioned the obvious that others haven’t considered.
Back then, shows could cut corners and get away with a hell of a lot because our imaginations ran riot filling in the blanks.
This isn’t to be dismissive of today’s TV - that’s really come into its own and now can rival AAA blockbuster movies, but it’s always worth remembering the context of the era a show was made in should always be taken into consideration.

My aunt used to watch this religiously. This is the first time I'm seeing any clip since then. It's crazy how much TV has changed. I watched the new Dynasty on Netflix. I actually enjoyed it, even though it's bad at times, overall I do like it. I really like Kelly Rutherford and Liz Gillies so watching them in a more updated show from my childhood is neat.
The best cliff hanger of Dynasty EVER (except for when Claudia set La Mirage on fire...girl she needed her meds that day) I remember fainting when Claudia tripped and the fake baby went flying.
After I found out it was a doll, I think I would have tossed Claudia over the edge.

Drama at it's best , but, I remember this episode and when --(The porcelain doll) hit the car roof it shattered on impact, here in this scene that was clipped out-they cut away , WHY ?, it was quite a shock because at first no one knew it was a doll and when it slipped from Claudia's hands over the edge it looked real , such a --cover your mouth with your hands --Surprise !!
hlywdplayer I'm so glad someone else mentioned that - I distinctly remember seeing the "baby" shatter on top of the car on the original BBC tx in the 80s. Considered too graphic maybe and cut from the repeat broadcast - then the cut version was used on the DVD?
Blake seemed to be doing a fair job of talking Claudia round and attempting to calm her, only for him to go and ruin it by making it look so obvious there was a cop sneaking up behind her. He simply stops talking to her, and looks directly at him.
Is there a way to upload the entire clip? I think the lead up with Fallon first approaching Claudia is important to the scene. And as a kid watching this I totally thought it was a baby! LOL

I was bout to say. . . If they didn't clean up that horrible excuse of a special effect "baby" with the explanation that it was supposed to be a doll I was about to get real pissed that they actually thought people were gonna buy that as being a real baby. That would make for horrible special effects, even for the 80's.

i dont think the acting was bad...i think it was an intense scene and she felt it...fallon and Krystal's reactions were a bit sexist but believable as women are more emotional than men....fallons faints from exhaustion...hey it was the 80's..the acting has evovled greatly since then...if you watch movies made in the 40's n 50's the action is much more theatrical(just watch the the ten commandments).

@rc, The Carringtons understood that Claudia had spent time in a mental health facility and that she had some mental issues. It was mentioned in an earlier episode that she was placed in a straight jacket and taken away for treatment during her marriage to Matthew. Sammy Jo mentions this in her trade slaps with Claudia.

The first real "lowest point" of this show ... what a macabre, morbid thing to imagine the viewers would love to see. The first two seasons were building like a well-oiled run locomotive, and then it veered off into wack-a-doodle-ville. The writing just got worse and worse, but strangely, the ratings went higher and higher.
God, that was horrible for everyone involved.

Yes, but they didn't know that then - it wasn't until 5 years later at the end of season 7 beginning of season 8 that they brought him back from the dead (they still kept Lindsay dead, however).
I mean, dolls are used when a baby is involved in stunt work, so it could’ve easily been meant to be a real baby.
what are you talking about? Did you watch the whole clip, where the cops says it was a doll and you see the shattered parts on the pavement??? But if you mean the viewer was expected to think it was a real baby, yes, that's right. That's why it was so shocking when it sailed off the roof!
They need to remake this scene, it's noway near dramatic enough, instead of Fallon fainting at the end could she not of commited suicide, or something, like any normal person?
