That's funny
That's really good 😄

Why 3 and not just 1? I resemble that and it drives my wife crazy.
"How many kids with adhd does it take to change a light bulb?" "We never found out, we lost the light bulb and then ended up at the movies looking for it."
i have several alternate answers
it doesn’t matter, their neurotypical friend ends up changing it anyway
just one, but only if they’re supposed to be studying
just one, but it’ll take them three months to get around to it
three; one to get the ladder, one to go make snacks, one to get bored and suggest going to the movies, the first one to ask what movie they should watch and hey have you seen dune II we should go see it today i’ll look up movie times
two; one to change the lightbulb and one to come over in 15 minutes
It will get changed before guests come over or I lose something
The real question is how many *months.*
If there's no light in the room, and nowhere to steal a bulb from, it'll only take one, and they'll go to the store once it gets dark and buy one 😂.
@@0Aziraphale0 Just one. I said I'll do it.
I met with 2 ADHD friends to study for exams

"I don't know, but it has been dark for a month. I should probably do something about it... tomorrow"
I weezed so hard with this one 😂
My favorite one so far
You joke, but I definitely spent at least a month with a lightless bedroom. Worst thing is that it turned out to be from a tripped fuse... I just needed to flip a switch.
My bathroom light has been out probably more than a month... I happen to live in a place where it's really light during the summer time, so the small window has given enough light, but I probably should do something about that before winter darkness comes. Or I'll just start taking showers in candlelight and say that it's just me embracing the season 😁
You made me laugh so hard because it's so relatable, OMG
only a month? my bedroom light has been out for about a year....
I always liked the one: "I do not have ducks, I do not have a row. I have squirrels and they are at a rave"
Yessss! That's one of our favourite memes everrrr!
My ducks are nearly constantly in row. It's just the other pronunciation/meaning of row.

How long does it take for an ADHDer to change a lightbulb?
A month. 1 week to process that its burnt out. 2 weeks to remember to buy a new one. And another week to work up the energy to change it.

Why do we do that???
@@damianketchamDopamine!

I call it procrastiworking 😂 My coworkers (even the ones without ADHD) have adopted it as well. It's honestly how I get most things done. I just look at my to do list and decide something I don't want to do is a priority, then suddenly the thing I actually *need* to do gets done, no problem 😅

I like my conversation topics like I like my cups of tea...
Half-finished and constantly ending up in unexpected places.
I admit I totally read that wrong, initially reading it as coffee because I was trying to get through the comments fast since I'm supposed to be doing something entirely different right now. ADHD strikes again.
Still, I drink either beverage and put them down wherever I am. Usually a sensible place, like an unusual spot on the kitchen Island, then move a bit to do something and forget the drink for more than an hour.
Haha, this one's perfect! 😂

Ah yes, my to do list: where tasks go to die.
I laughed so hard at the Ford Fiesta joke that my wife wanted to know what was so funny. When I told her, she just shook her head and walked away. That is a sure sign of a finely crafted dad joke. Hats off to whoever came up with it!

Two business owners, one with OCD and the other with ADHD, were at lunch one day talking about their companies. The one owner with OCD said, 'my business goes smoothly because I have each Department head sitting in offices from oldest to youngest. The other day I was at your company and saw you didn't do that, you should move them around to increase efficiency.' The one with ADHD said, "I can't, I have Executive Disorder".
if I might offer a suggestion, that sounds more fitting to OCPD than OCD
@@Kai-Xi thanks for bringing it up! Obsessive orderliness is more in line with OCPD, but it's too entrenched in pop culture as OCD now. So it always encourages me when I see someone knowing the difference!

Why did the ADHDer enter the room?
Okay, you don't know either. I'll leave and come back in.

I once did a presentation on ADHD for my abnormal psychology class in college, and I opened with a picture of my brother and I as children with our then brand new puppy (who passed away a year before at 13). I said to my classmates "Of the three shown here, only one has gotten better in terms of attention span, and I can assure you it wasn't me."
Another joke:
For the longest time, people would ask if I was a dancer from how much I'd sway and move as I walked. Other times, they would ask where random bruises on my hips, shoulders and shins would come from, to which I had no clue. They stopped about both after seeing me clip the doorway and desk before walking shin first into a stone bench that I had interacted with daily for 3 years.
Hey seriously, there is a huge overlap between ADHD and hypermobility disorders. It's worth looking into because there's a lot of help. But it's characterized by poor proprioception which causes us to bump into things.
OWW. I don't clip into things super regularly, but I'm fairly sure it's more than most people tend to. It's kinda nice knowing that I have an answer for why now - because I do swaying and irregular movement more often than I realise ^^;
I have far more scars than I can remember. Typically only the burns leave an impression strong enough to remember even the same day.

I just waved to the cashier and told my dad before we hung up, that I have been talking to him on my phone the whole time. We both had a good laugh 😂
I love it! 😂
Even funnier that he didn’t catch it and say something.
You can bet which parent gave those ADHD genes…
Since it is so hereditary do you both have it?
To-do lists are amazing. Sometimes I’ll even spend 52 hours watching CZcams videos, read most of 17 articles online about to-do lists, and spend money on a new notebook, and pens at the store to add to my stack of unfinished notebooks. A game I like to play is “how can I make these tasks MORE granular” so I get the satisfaction of checking off items, but then I get overwhelmed that the list is too long.
I was getting ready to go on vacation once and I actually made a list of the different lists I needed to make. To-do list, shopping list, packing list etc. 🤭
If I make a to do list it WILL take me at least an hour.... the same time it would have taken to do one task on that list
@ryanhines219
😂 Ouch! Same.
This is the where I am right now! I've taken two weeks to "perfect" my "to-do" list by adding columns with an ICON for each one such as a Phone Icon for calls I need to make, Doggy leaping in the air icon for the "do 2 trick training sessions per day with my border collie"; an Icon for Each day of the week, etc and adding colors. it is taking so long to make my list pretty and interesting in the guise of "being organized" that very few of the tasks are getting done!

Jumping to the end of your sentence. Because you were taking too long.
To over explain, because we see patterns as well as typically already have thought through a gazillion permutations of a topic, when we are in conversation with someone else we can recognize where they are going in the discussion and will finish their sentence for them to demonstrate that we already know, please go to the next point, please share an original thought because you are boring me and watching you think this through for the first time is literally causing me anguish.

Why did I bring a shopping list to the grocery store?

Why did I get a pet hamster?
Because I wanted a pet that understands my need to run in circles and get nowhere fast.
Why did I set ten alarms this morning?
Because I know I’ll turn off the first nine without even waking up.
Why do I always buy colorful sticky notes?
Because if I’m going to forget something, it might as well be on something pretty.
Why did I start reading five books at once?
Because focusing on one storyline just isn’t challenging enough!
Why did I start a garden in my backyard?
So I can plant ideas and watch them grow wild and unruly, just like my thoughts!

"Sorry what was the question" made me laugh bc it was so true. This sentence goes through my head multiple times a day, but I usually don't ask it out loud bc it would make me look bad. 100% This.
Many times I answer "Yes, of course!" without knowing what they told me.

Not a "joke" per se, but a funny definition of a term I made up:
Extrusive thoughts- as opposed to intrusive thoughts, extrusive ones are thoughts you can't help but blurt out (like when you see a cool animal or have to wonder about the etymology about a word or phrase)
This really made me laugh ! It is SO true!
Speaking of the getting distracted by a squirrel, I was talking to my uncle and he lost me and I looked excited. He was like "you saw a lizard didn't you" hahahaha... yes I did

I so agree with the distraction jokes.
My thing is actually taking in so much information, seeing every single detail, that I'm paralyzed by the data
Why does it only take a single person with ADHD to throw a CEO meet-up into chaos?

The one line I did come up with was "If You've never lost your keys in your own hand, you might not have ADHD" I think I wrote and did a picture of that after it actually happened...
If you've never walked into a room, forgot why you were there, walked out of the room to remember, remembered, walked back into the room, and forgot again...😂

What kind of lightbulb would be best? Should we go buy a few different ones and research their pro’s and cons? What about a vitamin D bulb?? Also… We don’t have a ladder so let’s google different safe body stacking methods to reach to bulb! Do we need a screwdriver? Where is it? Let’s clean out and organize the junk drawer!!
vitamin D lightbulbs?!
This is sooo me lol.
LOL, this!! XD
@jessikacutts3986 -- "Hold on, I need to overthink about this" to quote you a quote.

And then get distracted and forget it, ofc! XD
What would happen if Han Solo had ADHD?
The Millennium Falcon would jump to hyperfocus.
Yet it would also frequently malfunction and refuse to do so, getting battered by asteroids while attempting to work out how to get hyperfocus back....ooh look - a city in the sky!
What would happen if Han Solo had ADHD? He would have still shot first.

This one literally made me laugh-cry
please do more funny videos like this!!! we don't always have to have something informational, i love videos like these :) and i agree that laughing about our ADHD struggles with other ADHDers makes everything just a little bit better!
I do jump to one conclusion just about every time, though. The conclusion that everything is my fault.
Oof yeah that's relatable.
Everything can’t possibly be your fault because everything is my fault.
@@olgam5601
But I'm responsible for everything, so it must be my fault.
The phone thing is exactly why I LOVE my smartwatch. I really only use it as a fitness, sleep, and heart rate tracker, but when I lost my phone within range of the watch, the "find phone" button comes in REAL handy! Someone can't call your phone if it's on silent! 😂
My husband resists change. My son and I finally convinced him 5 years ago to disconnect the land line. Its only purpose was to find our phones!
Most people watch videos in HD
We watch videos in 80HD
I just finished listening to your book. Thanks for writing and narrating it. It is super informative and very validating. I have learned more from your book in the week I listened to it than I have in my 30 years of having this diagnosis.
For a second at the end there i thought he was going to try to get her to tell him a joke while he's in a video she's watching.
Oh god, my favorite version of that is. "I have a great knock knock joke. You start it!"

Final A: I already did
I was cracking up about the paper and pen and making a list cause I pictured the same thing you did. Glad im not the only one who pictured it. As for the phone, one time I was talking to my best friend on my cell phone and started looking for my cell phone. I went into the living room while talking on it and asked my daughter if she had seen it. She said no so I went out to my car and started looking for it still talking on it. I went back and finally realized I was talking on it and asked my best friend why she didn't tell me when she heard me ask my daughter and knew I was looking for it. Me, my best friend and daughter all laughed about it. ADHD at it's finest! Lol 🤣🤣
3:02 Not sure if it's the autism or the ADHD, but I definitely will catch it if someone accidentally says something that's a movie line or a song lyric, and will definitely respond with the next line.
One ADHD experience I had was stopping at a drive thru coffee shop and trying to place my order with a trash can until I realized that the speaker was 10 feet away from the menu. The funniest part was that my mom never noticed it. I think she has ADHD also. 😂
I know someone else this has happened to!
Also: I feel like my fave joke from this video is the orange juice one SPECIFICALLY bc of Jessica's addition in the middle there accidentally proving his point 😂
My colleague complained that some people talk for so long and don't even realise she had to go to the bathroom.
Little did they know "we were on the way to the bathroom before we started talking to them"!
my brain does the "Old mcdonald had a farm AND BINGO WAS HIS NAME-O!" really bad...
True, the melody sounds the same to me
And MY brain would go, "Old MacDonald had a farm and Bingo was his name-o. OH, SUSANNAH, NOW DON'T YOU CRY FOR ME..."
The fact that those melodies blend so well is really what does it.
My brain often goes from a certain point in the Star Wars Main Theme seamlessly into the Superman Theme, and I often don't even realize it for a few minutes at least.
I've gone from the Imperial March into a version of the Indiana Jones theme more times than I can remember. But definitely a bunch. Also stinks when you're in a first aid course and they recommend the Imperial March for helping time CPR Compressions. Good thing I know Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees does the same thing and I don't blend that one.
I was going to write an ADHD joke but I kept forgetting what I was doing.
I have a story about the lightbulb joke. I got my diagnosis in the summer of 2001, after my first year of college. And while i had started taking medication, we had not narrowed down the right dosage. So needless to say, i was still very easily distracted. A friend of mine told me that joke and within the 5 seconds that it took her to start the joke, i had completely forgotten that she was in the middle of telling me a joke. I legitimately thought that she was suggesting we go ride our bikes.
My friends don't always remember I have ADHD, until I get them a glass of water and come back with an Ice cube tray :D
I'm not procrastinating.

a conversation with a friend. He said he couldn't go to the appointment so early because sleep was his friend and he couldn't betray him. I replied. he's also my friend but he always makes me wait. 😂
Yup. “That’s just reality.”

It took me about 8 years to to finish my ADD book…..after I had bought it two or three times forgetting I had already bought it.
I only mostly finished when I sent a copy to my son because he has the same condition and he relied on me to focus for us both.
Edit: I probably have over 600 plus books I’ve read the first 3 chapters of.
Same! And why are they already the self-help books?
I only read books in full which I get out of the library - because there's a due date on them to return them. Books I've bought - I never finish them. 😂
