Since the start of the war in Ukraine Russia has seized businesses valued at over $100 Billion from Overseas Companies as multiple businesses have been NATIONALIZED or taken over for a token sum. However Russian Companies also had investments overseas and these assets and businesses are now being SEIZED by countries such as Germany and Poland in order to protect the supply of energy. In this video I look at this issue in more detail and discuss the legal action now being taken by Russia.

@@ettoreatalan8303 you're so right. People really are quick to forget all the bullshit Russia has been doing over the years with the horror of the war they started. But they've been assholes for so long.
The US gas pipeline ransomware attack is one such example. For those who didn't follow the aftermath:
-DarkSide (publicly Russian origin org) attacked colonial pipeline extorted ~5 million in BTC and made far more serious economic damage to affected regions
-US government investigated if the Russian government was involved
-A little over a week after the attack DarkSide claims to shut down operations claiming they received pressure from the US government.
That last part is incredibly unlikely. They're a cyberwarfare group. There's no realistic attack they could do on Russian soil that isn't extremely escallatory (and Ukraine wasn't even invaded). So that's Russia shutting them down if anything at all. But nobody has been prosecuted for the crime. It's unlikely they're even shut down. And even if Russia chose to shut them down they'd recycle the hackers into new orgs or just rebranded.
BlackCat was recently in the news for targeting hospitals. The US government claims they're a rebrand of DarkSide.
Russian hacker groups are as plausible to be independent as Wagner is. And Russian hackers are a huge part of the online criminal activity that goes on. Even if it were just Russian inaction providing hacker groups with a shield is like letting terror groups station their rocket artillery in your territory and fire at your rivals. You're culpable. But even that situation is implausible. It's likely they take orders from the Russian state about the level of targeting. That's why BlackCats retargeting to hospitals is newsworthy. Because that's escallatory when you know that basically every diplomat on earth knows that attacks like that are just the Russian government. Going after innocent lives is just not cool even for blackhats. Russia isn't shy about murder though.

There will be a judgement day and Russia needs to pay up for everything. They will be held accountable and pay with interest. This is an amount that exceeds the Russian budget several times and leads to bankruptcy. There is no long term escape without the total collapse of the Russian State. It might take two years, five years or ten years, but this will end one day, and it will end in disaster.

from Germany here. The economic consequences of the cut of ruSSian gas and oil have been overcome surprisingly well, within one year after the start of the war. Also, ruSSia blowing up the Nord Stream pipelines (1 of 4 is still intact, btw) was dumbly planned by Putin - already a month earlier the flow of gas was cut. Oil anyway can be easily procured from elsewhere, there is an oversupply worldwide. Prices are now at or below 2021 levels.
ruSSia is the only one who will suffer from this long term : their European customers will NEVER come back. ruSSia has stabbed themselves in the back five times, like their oligarchs usually do after farting in Putins office.

Russia has broken many international agreements - e.g. Aircraft leases and so has shown no respect for international law and so should be denied the right to take legal action in European courts. Also, we generally would insist that contracts used UK law because we were operating in the UK. I believe that it is common that such clauses are used... This would likely be easier, shorter and would not preclude them from suing in war crime courts. It would also be a straight forward way to put leans on Putin's assets in the West.
