In this video, ZAN talks about how to beat man coverage and run more efficient coverage by paying attention to agility, change of direction, height, weight, and stride styles in Madden 24.

This is my favorite Zan information. This deep mechanic information is why I followed him from 4wd Progress
I love these deep dives , thanks Zan.
This makes perfect sense now because I got Harold Carmichael at FS and he just seems slow to me compared to Troy polamalu who zips all over field. So good to know I wasn’t tripping
The Darrelle prouniciation kills every time as jets fan, good insight tho as always
Pretty deep stuff - logical, sure, but that’s no guarantee EA thought to include factors like stride length. *And* have height and bulk interaction with those elements and, particularly, with player stats.
I think when it comes to blocking logic and Zone logic, we give EA an appropriate amount of grief over those issues. But when it comes to the hidden and unadvertised areas of the game where EA is able to create differentiation value, especially in Ultimate Team, there is intent.
For instance, notice how all the wide receivers are starting to come out with passive X Factor abilities that beat bottleneck press animations. Animations. But it's not common knowledge that those X Factors actually have beat press coding built into them.
Sorry if there were any typos in this. I'm using. Talk to text
Stride Style was introduced as a feature way back in Madden 12 for anyone curious. It’s the explanation for why some of your DBs with 99 everything just can’t seem to do anything in M2M, and some WRs always get jumped on timing routes.
It's probably one of the biggest things that has been held back from public knowledge. I have no idea why the main databases don't carry that information on each item.
I think the weight impacts this more than anything. I found that 245 pounds is the threshold for any player I need to have fluid movements like users, safeties and edge rushers. Actually for 6’2 + receivers with good stride like megatron get better separation on things like the bunch offset post route compared to receivers like Tyreek.
Weight is crucial for jukes (245 and below get good jukes with more horizontal coverage to the animation).
But stride fused with height is key.
Oftentimes you'll hear people say "this guy is built different" and normally it's due to this kind of factor.
@@ZANmadden When I was labing loop blitzes it made a pretty significant difference. I realized LBs like Lawrence Taylor, Bo Jackson, Derrick Thomas, Bennet, Brooks ect were all way more fluid and didn’t do a stutter step when they turned the corner vs faster player with better agility and COD who were over the threshold like Aaron Donald or Khalil Mack.
I really like in depth breakdowns
ive noticed Hollywood brown also has been getting great separation as well with Tyreek
This is true they've been working on this for years now and it seems they're getting a lot better at it.....this is why my WR1 is devin hester he's so quick he burns all coverages...its more about the weight too if they're smaller they cut way quicker
I wish there was a way that I could share your valid information with the group. In my french eyes I have ninety nine Is short and medium route running With mike evans And tyreek hill I had a play where I had double speed outs. And Mike Evans slowly puts his feet down. And makes the speed out slowly. VS tyreek is a hard cut to the outs
it's night and day.💯💯💯
I don’t know if they account for it, but there’s also a predictive factor when playing DB… the WR knows where he’s going, the DB has to predict where the WR is going while running backward.
As one of the jordan Mialata Marvin harrison believer the same cons about jordan are the pros yea he moves slow as dirt compared to a lot of users but for a mid zone defender & to me by far the best avalanche user because of his size
For marvin harrison he’s honestly on the lower end of route runners and getting open but he gets catches for me like no one this year
I definitely can see why people prefer that. He has a bigger tackling cone due to his weight. He will force more fumbles as well when those big hits occur. But I think he gives up entirely too much in the change of direction department to warrant using him over other tall, albeit less heavy, players
@@ZANmadden %100 but for the value who would u recommend?
Zan can we please get more franchise eligible content!
Does it say the "stride style" anywhere in the game? Or is it just something you have to test individually? Is it universal like every 6 ft. tall 200 lb receiver will be the same (with same agi/cod) or is it random and not dependent entirely on height/weight?
I’ve always experienced this to be true but was too scared to voice it given the pro infatuation with height. That being said, the juke animations on taller players are serious.
Don't be afraid to speak to what you feel. Not everyone plays the same way.
That’s just science y’all!! That’s why taller corners don’t last long in the NFL due to hip issues as they get older. Their hips goes out quicker than a shorter corner. Example Richard Sherman
Bro I was just talking about how tyreek doesn’t run as fast as a 6’0 guy with 99 everything. It’s like the stride is just shorter
I feel like cooper kupp has custom route running styles
In a bad way or good way?
I've seen some people say they hate Kupp's loco.
@@ZANmadden id say a good way it’s his c routes comebacks and post they feel and look like he’s got a little more umph on them
Terrel Bernard moves better than Derrick Brooks (not that brooks moves bad)on the game and this is the only logical explanation for it. The way he strafes and tracks ball carriers is insane.
Not true. In cfm there are 6'6 wrs with 99juke and mid 90s agi, acc, cod in almost every draft and they are the best moving players as far as when user controlled
Mut is straight up clowned out,Bo Jackson at qb, montez sweat at WR that does not entice me
Okay. Thanks for sharing.
you lost me at scoffing at Mailata. hands down best user in the game. i can listen to no more of your instructions
To each their own.
@@ZANmadden besmirched i say. 😂
