- The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square present "Nunc Dimittis," composed by Alexander Gretchaninoff with English lyrics adapted by N. Lindsay Norden.
Episode 4330. Aired September 9, 2012 - Hudba
I first heard this at the annual Christmas Concert at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas many years ago when one of my daughters was a student there and was in the choir that performed it. It has since been my favorite of all liturgical music. I never tire of hearing it.
This is right out of the Bible and this choir sings it so beautifully.
WOW ❤❤ very important so lovely songs ❤❤❤
Thanks for posting. My college choir ended its concerts on tour with this and it's been a favorite for decades since. Beautiful performance.
Thank you for uploading this. I sang it at Occidental College with Howard Swan many many years ago. It is one of my favorites. So inspiring and uplifting.
Beautiful! Just beautiful
The California Redwoods Chorale sang this when we toured Europe summer of 1978. It is so very beautiful.
This give me shivers -- it is so beautiful! Here I am listening again! This performance is excellent (except for the repetition of the first phrase at the end). Best tempo here on You Tube, too.
Stunningly beautiful
This is wonderful
Quietly brilliant.
Can someone drop the lyrics plz?? 🥺
Lord send a real revival of salvation and real Pentecost to the Mormon cult thus changing it by Your love and grace into a genuine Christian and Pentecostal denomination in Jesus' name, amen.
amen!! they're stealing our songs. Lord, change the heart of the mormons; replace it with a true spirit that recognises Jesus of Nazareth as the son of the most high God and not an equal of that impostor Joseph Smith. Amen.
(Edit: because I am no longer a Pentecostal. May the Cult of Joseph Smith renounce their heresy and become joined in full union with Pope Francis, Bishop of Rome, and the legitimate succesor of St. Peter, Vicar of Christ in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
It's frusttatimg, because there are several other, far better performances of this piece on CZcams and this has the most views. Their vowels are disappointing. If you like this piece, you owe it to yourself to listen to some of the other choirs on here.
