For the people with newer or different versions. The sight glass should be the nut now. 22mm socket
You are awesome
I can't find the drain hole on my compressor and I made a mistake and over filed how am I supposed to drain without the drain hole
I brought the exact one but no drain plug to drain the oil why is it like that? Can you give me advice why mines different please and thank you
I. DONT. HAVE. A. DRAIN. SCREW. AND. MINE. LOOKS. LIKE. YOURS. SO. DO. I. REMOVE. THE. SITE. GLASS. TKS. ???
I just bought one. It does not have the drain screw???
Mine is missing also. Trying to find out how it's suppose to be drained, I am expecting I will have to turn it upside down. and drain out the filler hole So silly.
I have the same issue. Is this a recall? No way I'm turning this upside down
@@kennethsnyder6955 I am not too keen on turning it upside down either. I just don't understand how they don't have the drain hole in it anymore. There is not even a divit where the old plug was.
Ok I found this guy on here who just carefully unthreaded the oil level sight

Do you know if that oil is Synthetic or not?
It is not. It is SAE 30 wt NON-DETERGENT. Cheapest oil on the market. If you buy something that doesn't say explicitly 'NON-DETERGENT', then it has detergents/additives. Do not buy for, or use in a compressor. Containers marked 'Compressor Oil' are all assumed NON-DETERGENT and safe for use. They are also much more expensive for no reason.
I just found the owners manual and it says that you are to remove the sight glass to change the oil in the new run of these compressors.

Non detergent oil only.
I used the manufacture recommended oil. Not sure what your point is
@@hanksgarage_ Some people don't use the correct oil, but if they happen to use oil that has a detergent in it, apparently the oil may foam up.
Well it sucks that mine didn't have the drain plug . I'll have to flip this thing over and drain it from the fill tube vent
Try a small fluid pump to suck it out
I just bought one of these and there is a drain screw. Really confused on the fact that is is a screw and not a bolt even tho the book shows a bolt. This book dosent mention removing the sight glass either.
HF sells many different products under the same model name, but they will have a different product SKU. Unfortunately, you have a different one than this one.
Mine was same. The sight glass is the nut now. 22mm socket
