HI Peter, thanks for your instruction, it is really helpful. But may I ask a question about "when will you leave Canada" ? Should it be aligned with the length of my program. For example, the starting time of my program is 2024-09-04 and the length of the program is 20 months, so I must put the exact date of 2026-05-04? or I can enter a date like 2026-08--20?

- How do I know the cost of food and lodging for all yrs of study. My program is for 2yrs (24months) but can finish earlier than 2yrs
- others ( can it be the same as funds available for stay in Canada)

Total funds available is the total money you are showing in your account, plus the tuition deposit you have paid.

Sir Peter, please I want to know how to go about the Activity Section of the online application where they consistently tell me that 'You're missing details for the past 10 years', 'Review your entries and make sure you included something for all times in the past 10 years', 'Do not include any entries that you already put for post-secondary education, military or police force (if that is was your only occupation at that time)'

Thank you so much for your valuable information. I got my student visa last month to study master, but during the application process, i wasn't married so i didn't put anyone there as spouses. Now, I just got married last week with my girlfriend.
My question is, can I apply for a spousal open work permit for my wife so that we travel together coming September or I have to come to Canada first before I can apply for her. My program start in September.

Dear Peter, I am preparing for my son's undergraduate study permit application for Waterloo Canada. I would like to travel with him (one person) along with my family (3 persons including, me, my wife and my younger son). The purpose is that we would drop him and make sure he is settled well. We will comeback then. Shall we do one application for him and entire family? Advice please. If this okay. Or I should submit his application separately for study permit and then do for family separately. Also shall I use the Old IRCC portal or new one.

My question is, on the old portal, is it 1 year tuition you input or the tuition for all years of studies like you did here on the new portal?

This so timely. I am on the process of my online application. I do have a question.. you know we cannot upload multiple files, so that means we have to combine all the documents into one. So, how do you squeeze a lengthy document and make it below 2mb?
If you have too many documents, it might be better to use the old portal with 4mb per upload...

Dear Peter Isesele, I’m applying for Study Permit via SDS stream as SDS have high and fast visa acceptance ratio compared to Non-SDS applicants. But in New IRCC portal I haven’t seen the option to select for SDS segment. Also this video of ours doesn’t differentiate between SDS & Non-SDS visa. PLEASE ADVISE, Thanks.

When I try to follow your steps at 4:58 in the video, it now says this "Study Permit applications submitted to IRCC now require a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) from the intended province or territory of study as of January 22, 2024. A Study Permit application that does not include a PAL, or meet an exception as outlined in the Ministerial Instructions, will not be accepted for processing."

Please, I have a wife and two children, but I am not appying with them now because of financial constrains and secondly, my wife's passport is not ready. If I'm able to get the study permit/visa approved, can I be able to apply for my wife and children to join me later in Canada? and How long should it take before i can apply for my wife and children to join me? Hello Mr Peter, I need your guidance please. My husband has just moved to Canada on a closed work permit, and I will be joining him with kids in a couple of weeks. If i apply for a study permit before travelling, is there any possibility it will affect my getting open work permit at entry.
If your study permit gets approved, you won't be able to get an open work permit at the border.
To get SOWP at the border in Canada, you need to apply for it back in your home country and get approval

You should write the amount you have in your statement + any tuition deposit that you have paid.

You can use the old portal to apply for them if you want to apply for SOWp for your spouse.

If your program doesn't require CO Op, then you don't need the co-op work permit.

You have to be careful with this.
Only add the non important part of your finance to the client information, not any other place.

The section for the documents uploads are the documents required to be in one pdf file or single upload?
It depends. Forexample, all documents required for POF will be uploaded as a single pdf

You mean extended permit? Cause per the new IRCC regulations, study permit extension doesn't need attestation.

hello, please the part that says you should enter any post secondary institutions, let’s say you’re going undergraduate but you’ve previously attended a university(didn’t complete) and during the school application, you said you had never attended a post secondary institution, must you still indicate that on the visa application portal or you can say none there? 🙏
