tears of joy for the day

This song is for all my friends who are living with the hidden torment of depression be they men or women , a condition you have to have lived with to truly understand the debilitating impact it has on daily living . Depression does not discriminate between the sexes .. though many men will never admit to it in fear of being seen as weak. The biggest killer of young men between the ages of 18 and 24 is by far suicide..and stats show that less than 10 % will ever admit to their problems. I remember crying in my teens unable to comprehend what was up with me and at 24 made an attempt to end my life . But for the grace of God my dad got to me in time and years later he told me that something told him to go out and check the garage were I had passed out. I am now 56 and while I have had some troubling times I see myself as very lucky and blessed . I have a loving family and friends that are truly understanding and compassionate to others . Because that is the only thing that matters ..helping others ..And it is hard because we are constantly seeking to pass blame which makes it so hard to get the harmony we need to save humanity. We have to love and to do that we have to forgive and to reconcile ..even those that have hurt us the most . It is the only way we will heal our souls.
