Samsung Galaxy S4: How to Exit Safe Mode

Easy way to exit Safe Mode on Samsung Galaxy S4.
If one day you turn on the phone and you see it says SAFE MODE at the bottom corner of the screen, you can get out of it by restarting the phone.
While in Safe Mode, certain application will not work and hence you are prevented from using it.

That was easy! Thank you! What causes the phone to go into Safe Mode? Wondering if I hit something in error? I also noticed that many of my apps disappeared when the phone was in safe mode, then they reappeared when I exited Safe Mode. Happy to have found your channel

When are you in Safe Mode, the phone only loads apps that comes preloaded with the phone. Any app that you downloaded will not run in Safe Mode. The reason for this is because if the app is buggy you could go into Safe Mode to remove it. As to why the phone go into Safe Mode? well perhaps one of the apps has cause an error and the phone immediately go into Safe Mode state.

You do not have to restart your phone all you have to do is turn your phone off then turn it back on while its powering back up keep tapping the back button thats what I did and it worked

Rebooted, but stayed in safe mode.
Gound out it was caused by a app that was updated recently....
App now no longer on the phone.

Try to uninstall some of the recent app that you install, see if they are creating the problem. If you try everything and still can't turn off Safe Mode, then you could try a hard reset.
also when pulling the battery out, wait for at least 30 seconds before putting it back in.

Hi Annika, can you try a hard reboot of your phone. You will need to go into the system recovery menu to do it.
