The Orochi team was originally meant to mirror the “heroes” Kyo, Benimaru, and Goro. So yes, Chris uses Kyo’s super, Shermies uses Benimaru’s super, and Yashiro is a grappler to mirror Goro Daimon

Holy shit I never noticed that before, WOW
That was the original idea of their desing, an anti japan team but in the end the 3 sacred treasure team were the team who fought and barely defeated this 3 (Kyo vs O.Chris, Chizuru vs O.Shermie and Iori vs O.Yashiro) Beni and Goro are canonically way below the 3 Sacred Treasures and the Heavenly Kings power tier.

Orochi Chris is evil as fuck, and I like that for his Climax, he's now showing more of his power rather than him transform into Orochi. He is no longer limited to sprite budgets and reused assets 😂

I guess Orochi Yashiro is the closest thing we'll get to Daimon in KoFXV for a while. That aside, I'd imagine that they'll be released after KoFXV Top 8 at EVO next week.
And to answer your question, Team Awakened Orochi are dark gameplay counterparts to the original Team Japan (Kyo for Chris, Benimaru for Shermie, & Daimon for Yashiro) as they were back in the day.

Love his idle stance, man. I'm not sure on how nice it'll look here since there's brief shot of it in the trailer, but i always loved the 2D sprite's version of that stance.
We are DEFINATELY getting the Team 4 announcement trailer at EVO. Knowing SNK's history of announcements, they will wanna show off as much DLC content as possible at EVO. Which means we will probably get a Team Pass 3 and maybe even Team Pass 4 announcement at EVO as well. KOF 15 has sold a lot of copies, it would be wise of SNK to continue the DLC hype train. Because I would say that have done a very good job at it for this game so far. Maybe even get some Guest character teams like Samurai Showdown, SF and Tekken to bring in more players.
Well, maybe Max accidentaly implied there are non-KoF characters in Team Pass 2 already? Because he said "I'm curious to see how are they going to play KoF-style". Maybe these rumors are well known to the average player already (which I'm not).
@@UrashimaLuke I mean there was a big leak back before KoFXV came out that revealed all the DLC characters, and one of the teams is supposed to be a Samurai Shodown team with Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Darli Dagger so that's probably what's gonna happen.

I was thinking the same thing. They did announce Samurai Showdown DLC season 2 pass at EVO 2019 And we know that DLC Team Pass 3-4, one of those teams will be Kim's.(Team Korea)

Benimaru's super is called Raikouken. Shermie's super is Ankoku Raikouken which means "Dark Raikouken"
And Alba Meira's Super is called Haou Raikouken which means "The High King's Raikouken"

Back then I've seen so many Orochi Yashiro plays I thought that is his actual moveset. I tried and played him using the combos I've seen from other players. Followed by Chris just because of his command grab and his Honoo.
Love the outfits and how they reference one of the endings.

It's nice to see them getting new outlifts similar to Genitz. It always kind of bothered me how they have different colored clothes with their Orochi form

Out of these 3 i've always like Orochi Chris the most but damn the other two look sick as well, i was not interested in buying this team when i first heard of the leaks but they definitely did them justice here.
You might be thinking about KOF 2002 when it comes to Chris turning into his Orochi form, then to Orochi himself.
Normal Chris can turn into his Orochi form as his HSDM, and Orochi Chris turns into Orochi for *HIS* HSDM.
I’m hoping that SNK does another free update for KOF 15 of Orochi as a boss challenge, just like what they did with Omega Rugal!
If we get lucky they'll release him and Goenitz together in boss challenge.

I hope we get Daimon's son(the little rolling boy from Daimon's KoF 2002 intro) as a MMA fighter with Judo as main art, almost like DNF Duel's Grappler
I don’t think Team 4 will appear in Evo, I think the best bet is a Release date for Team A. Orochi, and if in the best case scenario, a possible new free character update? But I’m expecting Team 4 to be announce at TGS 2022

The most badass thing for them to do is that right after the winner for the KOFXV bracket is decided, everything goes dark and Goenitz is revealed as the next free boss character with his trailer. While that goes on the production crew set up the new build of the game and the EVO winner then gets to fight Goenitz live. I think that would be an excellent advertisement, and the live audience would love it. Surprised no fgc games have done this yet
My main exposure to KoF is King of Fighters R2 on the Neo Geo Pocket Color, and Orochi Chris is my favorite character in that so I am mega excited to see these guys return. I loved their designs in that game and I'm so happy to see it translated faithfully.
As someone who's been into this series since kof 2000/2001 collection on ps2, and played the heck out of 02 and neowave, this team makes me happy 😊, this is the team orochi I wanted when 15 was revealed.
As a lot have said, ever since KOF'97, the Awakened Orochi Team were like dark/evil/etc versions of Team Japan with a few subtle differences. It's nice we got the "classic" costumes, which is basically darker re-colours of their original outfits in a nod back to the 2D games.
There wasn't an awful lot shown on O.Shermie, she doesn't seem to have her lightning kiss special (or at least it wasn't shown!). Although I'm glad her Climax is different to her HDSM of old. :)
Her climax is like a combo of both her HDSMs. The lightning strikes her, like when the HDSM backfires, but she redirects it into the target.
Team Awakened Orochi has always been a Dark Version of the original Team Japan.
Orochi Yashiro = Dark Daimon, Orochi Shermie = Dark Benimaru and Orochi Chris = Dark Kyo.
Each pair uses either Grappling, Lighting, or Flame control.

Yeah their bonus costumes are just like in KOF 97. In 97 the only difference in their looks was their cloths all turned purple and Shermie's hair got darker...their KOF 15 Awakened outfits are based more on artwork from back in the day of how the Heavenly Kings of Orochi would dress.
Already hyped to check out Orochi Yashiro and getting the PTSD of Orochi Chris, with the latter had his Orochi super though.

The Kof story line has always been a mystery to me.
That Yashiro climax is super cool but Shermie as a lightning conductor is whole other level of power.
I can't say I didn't want to see a little sneak peek at Orochi with Chris' climax but well, it makes sense they wouldn't show him considering where the plot is.

I would like to see in the last DLC a team formed by masters, like Goro Daimon, Kim Kapwan and Saisui Kusanagi. But I also think that would be amazing see a team Street Fighter with Ryu, Guile and Chun Li

Best to have them as a boss rush with busted super gauges and they do cancels for every attack
Pizzaroll Yashiro was a nightmare in 2002, im sure he would be one in this too, but it seems like they do nerf him, trailer never show that stun crossup he used to have so i guess they removed it

The Orochi versions are the counterparts to the OG Team Japan ☝🏻🔥
Suggestion for you Max: Try to beat KoF 97 with the Sacred Treasures Team: Kyo, Iori and Chizuru. They are the last team before Orochi and each one has their own BGM and the stage reflects the elemental afinity of everyone. Could be a nice content for the channel

All three look awesome. The next team I want to see would be Oswald, Shen woo, and Duo Lon. All three teamed up with Ash at one point in the Ash Saga.

I love the original version of this team and the orochi versions are even better if you ask me so I love that these versions are now here
In case nobody mentioned it yet: Team Awakened Orochi is basically Team Kyo.
Yashiro, who has Earth powers, is a take off of Goro Daimon.
Shermie is aping Benimaru with her lighting and literally has the Raikouken.
Chris gains fire powers, like Kyo, and gains the Orochinagi.
