    @thequattro20v Thank you for the suggestion! We don't do a lot of asphalt removal, I would say that we only rip out this much asphalt every few years.

    Nicely demonstrated the process of rip asphalt driveway apart. Keep it up the good work.

    Try putting the blade down more next time. Makes a nice fulcrum for breaking slabs and cleaning up the bits is easier with something to load against. As plus you won't be bouncing around as much. Atleast tipping forward, not much to be done when trying to get the teeth to punch through.

    Do you do a lot of asphalt removal? If so, might be a good idea to invest to a ashalt cutting wheel for a excavator. This was pretty easy place as you had just grass on the sides where you could start the demo. But that ain't always the case. Just started stonework season my self, trying to do some vids this season. :)

    @airsoftsniper06 We remove the sub base and put in our own base.

    As others I assure you it would have been much quicker and neater to use the skidsteer, get under the the asphalt and fold each peice back till u have 4 or 5 pieces stacked up, then take then away

  • @DirtNinja
    @DirtNinja  Před 13 lety

    @TAWZace Haha, yea i guess they do, pavers look a lot better though!

    i watched a few vids on with your E50 and wounderd a few things. Whats your boom langth and size wise how much bigger it this then a 328? thats what i run at work alot and it will barly clear are 5 ton but loads are F450 fine, and you have to stand up and look down on some digging cause its only got a 8 foot boom.

    right from the start u coulda got square with asphalt saved the landscape and as every ones telln ya put blade down can make large pieces pop up less mess and will save the tracks and drives from takn all the lift and on minis never dig off the side but you look young and trainable unlike lota these clowns

  • @DirtNinja
    @DirtNinja  Před 12 lety +2

    The smaller the pieces the more you can fit in a dump truck

  • @airsoftsniper06
    @airsoftsniper06 Před 13 lety

    Its quite a bit bigger. Its a 5t machine. Diggs to 11.5ft and I can load out Tri-Axle with it

    • @DirtNinja

      That works. But this is faster.

    • @MrOpcode
      @MrOpcode Před 10 lety

      BobcatNinja2124 Great videos and I've learn tons from you but in this instance, trust me skidsteer is waaay better. You can start with the forks (take off a fork if necessary) and work your way along the curb. Then just come up with the bucket and start rolling it over while scooping. Just remember to work from the edges inwards so its easier to break. Same amount of time, but with tri-axle loaded. Also forks are very handy when you wanna grab those more delicate pads like in front of the garage where you don't want to risk rolling the asphalt into the homeowner's door.

    • @fuddmethen
      @fuddmethen Před 8 lety +1

      +MrOpcode gotta agree with Dirt Ninja on this one. Once you've done with with the precision of an excavator you almost don't wanna go back to the skid steer method. The forks work, but I'd rather not have such huge pieces in the truck taking up so much air space in the body, a little small and more in the truck

  • @ZachsTreeService
    @ZachsTreeService Před 13 lety

    so why tear up such a good looking Driveway to put back a paver one. They must have plenty of money to burn. that Driveway was 3 grand easy to put Asphalt on I bet.
