I’m decluttering “bad finances”. This year is all about taking control of my money. Start budgeting, meal planning, saving. It’s hard, yet necessary. And actually quite fun 🤩.

I have just got home after a week hiking and then 5 weeks in the UK and Wales with family and friends. I am going back to the videos I missed and working through them while also doing my upkeep house cleaning. 😊

Welcome back! Congratulations on your world record. Last week seemed odd without your videos, but I kept busy by decluttering most of my dearly departed dad's WWII military photos, letters, and other items. I found a military museum that has other memorabilia from his regiment and donated these items to them. Many of the photos were of other members of his regiment, but I did keep a few dozen of the photos of my dad. It is nice to know that I can visit the museum if I get sentimental about the rest of it. Glad you're back!!

Lovely to have you back, Diane. Thank you for the encouragement to declutter which I’ve done in our second bedroom today. Took a very large ornate mirror to a charity shop this afternoon……..it was placed in a wardrobe about five years ago thinking that we’d find a place for it sometime, well we haven’t and we don’t need it so off it goes to someone else 🎉. Blast from the past with your LPs some of which I remembered from my youth in Edinburgh 😊

Great to have you back and congratulations on the Guinness world record WOW. I have a confession worked on kitchen tiles this week very pleased with results though took best part of an hour , when you included clearing counter tops wiping down appliances and counter tops ! At this stage I was looking at the cupboard doors and it was a hairs breath away from turning into a marathon, but fortunately I had your advice ringing in my ears and made a very conscious decision to STOP made myself a drink and took a rest, and you know what , I didnt feel guilty so that's a definite win , thank you 😊

I've managed to declutter all of my music records, cassette tapes, and CDs. I don't even have anything to play them on. I now listen to my music of choice online, mainly CZcams.

Welcome back, Diane! 🖐 I've been gradually retiring the dreaded ironing basket this week - it's become a clothes storage area - so I've done ironing every evening this week and turned the basket back into a laundry basket (our usual one was broken). Now I will iron as I go - no more accumulation!

Woohoo! I tackled my daughters room. She actually needs to do the decluttering (with my help, she’s past the age I can do it for her), but all the loose parts are in containers and I dusted and gave the room a good vacuum clean. I found a very big spider, so I hope that motivates her to regularly tidy her room!

I know what you mean about revisiting items (your suitcase). I declutterred the linen cupboard and laundry cupboards and got rid of a lot more things that I thought I would need from the last time I had declutterred it. When I’m in my laundry , I can’t help myself and open the cupboards and look how much more organised they look. ❤🎉🎉
Missed you! But you'd be proud I've kept up with Weekly Upkeep even with Hubby taking a few vacation days. I'm listening to you while keeping eye on lunch. Nephew is here helping with some garden projects. And I just organized chips and salsa area of pantry. Every thing is according to 'Good By Date'. Lot's of outside spring activities but Weekly Upkeep is keeping house looking good!

I finally decluttered our old, unused water bottles and travel mugs! We also got our picture frames hanging up that have been sitting around for years!🫢 It's great to finally have them up.
Welcome back Diane. Huge Cocteau Twins fan here! If I’m feeling nostalgic I’ll put Treasure on and I’m back in 1985 with my Victorian grandad shirts and lacy gloves. And ha ha but the Smiths seem to have made it through but Cocteau Twins are miserable???????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Anyway - I have cleared out my bedside cabinet and bag collection today, so thank you as always.
Welcome back and congrats! I cleaned out the “silverware” drawer, replaced things in a larger and more efficient tray, and decluttered some stray items like popsicle sticks and small scoops. Step by step….

Congratulations on your world record! I'm 2 months late here, but, finally figured out how to sign in to comment back to you! This winter I saw an interview piece on Depeche Mode on "Sunday Morning" here in US. Thanks for your encouragement to even declutter 1 item a day! But, made better progress this summer during remodel of kitchen & bath! Hubby started shredding 50 yr worth of tax files!!! Didn't know we had this much! But, have sooo much more to do! Always an ongoing process! Thanks again for all you do!
I’m reading books over that have been on my bookshelf for 10-20 years, then passing along to either a friend or putting in the Little Free Library bin. Love your idea about listening to old records/CDs! Great basement decluttering motivation!

Wanted to thank you for this video, I work at a university and have been on spring break this week and had great intentions of spending the week cleaning, decluttering and organizing my house, since it is time I wouldnt normally have. However a friend needed me to house and puppy sit for them last minute so I was unable to be at my own house and get as much done as I wanted. Just watched this video and will get done what I can the last few days of my break. Thank you for the encouragement!! Hope you have a great week ahead!

Recently I took all my old 45’s to a local record shop. Our old albums are sitting in my staging table. I love the idea of listening to them but we don’t have any means of playing them. I’m going to bring them to my boss and see if he wants any. Then I will take the rest to the record shop. It was fun going through them and alphabetizing them. (I’m weird that way) Lots of memories in our old records.

Hello Diane! I am decluttering my Zone 3 ,The Bathroom, today. Its funny how we have never decluttered those tall cabinets in 4 years. Then I enjoyed your basement declutter. Especially liked the baskets. CB
I just found out that we have a swap room in our town. You can just take things over there and donate and just take anything you find that interests you. It looks like a little garden shed and I love the idea 🎉.

Glad you had a good trip! In my family room, I finally have bookcases that fit all my books. I’m now downsizing our puzzles and games into zipper bags, and have saved so much room. I can finally see my way forward! I’m so excited to finally get this room organized and lovely.
Did it--worked on decluttering the top of my dresser. If you didn't know what it looked like before, you wouldn't think it looked good now, but I sure notice the difference!

It is so so so good to see you again! I was a bit under the weather so I didn’t get much done. But, fortunately, since I do keep up with my weekly blessing, the house looked fine for a party I was hosting. Just putting the blessing activity 😅🎉on a weekly schedule has been so powerful. Really good to see you back. Decluttered in the conservatory, donated 3 pretty candle holders and threw away a sun bleached tablecloth and 8 cushion covers. Hopefully I can find replacements, 😊

I worked in the kitchen today and got rid of some storage containers and some old cook-magazines, which i always said I would try out, but never did. Also i used the time to wipe out some cabinets in order to get a head-start for our cleaning window (busy week ahead ;) ) See you in the next one
You look fantastic in that blue. No declutter for me today. Took Hubby to the doctor for a pre- op physical, got ready for dinner with friends, watched a DVD from the Library and now ready for bed. I actually undecluttered today. I had a swimsuit coverup that didn’t fit well so I put it in the donate basket a few days ago. I went on-line to order another coverup and after looking at a few I realized I could probably rework the one I have into something I want that fits better. I took it out of the donate basket and have it scheduled to rework it next week. If I remember, I’ll let you know how it goes.

I sat at my computer desk while watching the video. I decluttered papers and went through all the NUMEROUS notepads I've collected. Most of them actually came from charities. I wish they wouldn't spend the money to send all those!
Anything that arrives like that now I just put straight in the donate box and have decided to not support that charity any more...I agree so wasteful.....

Huge breakthrough... my partner asked me to help him declutter his closet earlier this week!
He cranked some tunes while we worked but not The Smiths because they're too whiny for me.
Sometimes I try to do the same zone as you, but more often than not, I just do the thing that needs my attention the most. I try to encourage my little daughter to declutter as well and today she managed to declutter 2 children books. I'll try to do another round of decluttering/cleaning later in the evening but now it's time for going on the walk/bike.

Cleaned out a stuffed storage ottoman. Lots of paperwork from over ten years ago and craft supplies I’ll never use. Even after moving craft supplies that I do use into it from another location in the house it is still less than half full! Donating the supplies that didn’t make the cut to the library.

I traveled last week too and this week I have found it difficult to get back into my routine but I'm getting there! You asked, "What's in your basement?" Well, let me say too much!!! I am in the process of going through 5 generations of family memories! This is going to be a very long adventure 🙅♀️ but I've decided to do just 10 minutes at a time, grab one bag or box. I'm hoping not to get overwhelmed! It is a full-size basement with almost every piece of floor covered. At least it's in boxes and bags that are in some kind of order. Their not just thrown in there. Thank goodness!
