Number three reach out to somebody struck a chord, often I am so busy I let some relationships slip.
Working on thinking, saying and doing kind things. (We still have hot humid weather with lots of rain so I’ll pass on bringing the outside inside!)
I'm excited for the challenge, hurrah! I've been working hard on the routines this year and they helped me a tone - so I'm always excited to refresh, adapt or gain a new perspective. I'm doing 3 and 4!
I will decorate with decorative outdoor flags for Easter.
I will put together some different colored tops for spring.
I will be kind to myself.
I will keep checking in with family and friends.

This is to the lady who made the comment about your closet not looking like a minimalist closet…I am a minimalist, and have been for most of my adult life (I’m 59 years of age), and I can tell you this from being around many other minimalists, that in minimalism, there is no “one size fits all.” To me minimalism is simply decluttering all of the extraneous stuff from your life until you only have the things that have a purpose in your life, and that you love and enjoy….and that looks very different for each individual. There’s no two people whose minimalist lifestyle is going to look exactly the same. 😊

RE: reading vs listening to a book. Love doing both. But if I’m listening, I’m up off my “bahooky” and getting something done. If I’m relaxing, (often when I’m sitting on the beach where I live) it’s the time for actually reading. Doesn’t have to be one or the other.

We follow your Friday dates idea and now get lunch together or go somewhere. Yesterday we went to Ventura and sat by the road and enjoyed the ocean for 20 minutes. So nice.

I call my approach minimalish.
What a perfect explanation of what minimalism should be for most of us. It’s loving and using what we have, and not necessarily the “ big yawn “ of a wardrobe or house devoid of color and life. We live in a gloriously color filled world, and it’s all there to be appreciated.
I’m going to be as nice to myself as possible. We have had a sudden death in our family and I am in deep mourning. Thank you for your videos, I am happy you are here.❤

Thanks for the reminder that "I don't have time to do that" really means "I don't have time to do the whole thing perfectly." And that sidestepping that thinking, and just doing what we can for a few minutes, is the key!
The story of the lady that didn’t vacuum for 6 months was a ah ha moment. Not that I haven’t vacuumed, but the 10 minute weekly home blessing timeframe always made me think “ it’s not enough “. But, it’s better than nothing!!!
10 minutes a day, cleaning and decluttering has made a huge impact on our home, especially with an infant and 6 year old! ❤

Minimalism for me will be a sense of peace at not having to clear surfaces to dust or have things fall out when I open cupboards. I prefer cozy to bare. I’m getting there slowly with your guidance and enthusiasm 😊 xxxx
Great video today! To those that think 10 minutes day for cleaning/decluttering isn’t enough time- after you have been doing it for a while that will be all the time you need to maintain your areas.
I agree that taking a box of clutter to another room is helpful! It helps you see it more objectively out of its usual place.

It’s wonderful to have you back again! Minimalism to me means paring down my household items so that, some day, when I move into a smaller place, I won’t have to make too many decisions about what to keep or let go. Also, trying to remain clutter free. I choose numbers 1 and 4.

AND I had a two-hour catch up session with an old friend that I haven't talked to in months. I wanted to add that your wedding dress is so beautiful! Last night we had an adult Easter egg hunt in my home. They went through every closet and every drawer looking for eggs. Made me so very thankful for you and the FlyLady system. I didn’t clean or straighten out of the ordinary before they came. And I was totally relaxed about it. My husband hides the eggs and I’m so thankful that it’s fun and not stressful!
No matter what kind of day it's been, it ends with a set breakfast table and a shiny sink, coffee ready to go. Thanks to you!❤
Good evening Diane and fellow you-tubers!! I am feeling very proud of myself right now. All previous week I de-cluttered (a) my wardrobe , 3 big plastic bags of clothes that I gave away to charity, (b) the bathroom closet (brushes, combs, clutches etc) and (c) kitchen cupboards (mason jars, plastic containers, kitchen utensils I don't use anymore) I feel ten kilograms lighter!! truly!!! Weekend will be garden days as spring is in the air!!! Have a wonderful weekend!!! De-clutter people it's good for your health!!

Love your minimalism definition! It's helpful to frame it that way with a big family of small children; they too can keep what they need and love, and they are learning that it's ok to let the other things go- that's wisdom and helping others, not deprivation!
What you said around 15:07 about thinking you have to do the whole thing just right also has helped me when trying to learn some very difficult music on my violin. I get overwhelmed, but keep telling myself even 10 or 15 minutes will count and I do get better! I can't always take an hour at a time to practice. It helps to hear you remind us of these truths and get us up and using them in our lives. Love the chat and thank you, Diane! 💕

I shall try to do all 4 self care missions this week. I always thought I would NEVER be a minimalist because I love and treasure many sentimental things. But I'm working to get rid of all the clutter that does not serve me or bring me joy!
Earlier this week I had a doc appointment and, on my way home, I stopped at the local produce store and bough a hyacinth for my dining room table. I can smell through most of the house and it's lovely. 😊🌸

Self care this weekend: cut out my Easter skirt to sew, positive self talk journaling
A few days ago, I cut some forsythia branches to bring inside; today, the yellow flowers are blooming as the snow flies outdoors.

I'm putting freshly washed bedding on while I watch your video. And mission #4, going to write a note to my bestie!
Evening/afternoon routine done with your help, as I listened to you while performing all those slightly boring activities. Thank you for your presence and support. Today I'll choose option 3, being nice to myself. I usually treat others with more forgiveness and care than myself, for some reasons.
I chose number one. Bringing some of my orchids inside that are going to flower soon to enjoy.
Minimalism is different for everyone. I love your view on Minimalism and am right there with you.
#1. I hung up my easter wallhanging. A purple cross with white lilies quilted with gold thread. He is risen!
I've repurposed some spring candle holders into vases. For my self-care, I've cut several bouquets of spring blooming flowers from the yard. They are so fragrant and pretty!
Im minimalism. I Own a lot less now than before and Im happy 😄

Thanks for Today‘s ideas. I’m going to do number 1 and 3 this week. I will buy one flower to put in a thin vase for next to my kitchen sink. For number 3, I will make a quick shaker out of an empty teapot by adding some sunflower seeds or something. Then I’ll give myself a Ra, Ra, Ra!

You are so right. Connection and relationships are the key to the meaning of life. If your domestic life is sorted you can feel free er to give more time to people. People are what this world’s about not things. I think when she said it’s not minimalist she meant you have a lot of clothes. Which u do but they give you joy! Looking beautiful and put together is now effortless for you… still striving here but your vids ALWAYS motivate me.

Minimalism for me is the minimising the things that prevent me from doing the things that I love.
I have been doing the 16:8 fasting weekdays - and it has been wonderful. I get up at 4:00am but don't eat until 10:00/11:00am daily. It has improved my gut health greatly! I agree with you about minimalism. Decorated or Easter!

Thanks Diane. I did DYT years' ago and am a 1/2. In this week's clothes declutter I put a skirt "on probation" and wore it for half a day . It was a beautuful skirt, right colour, perfect fit, comfortable BUT it's going to be donated. It's a structured style and I feel like an air hostess! Wrong weight fsbric..... amazing how different we all are.
I love the idea of bringing a box or bag out if an overwhelming space to work at decluttering it vs being frozen! 😅 very smart!
Our Lady Banks roses are blooming so I will snip some and bring them indoors.

I feel like my week is not complete until I watch your videos. For self-care, I redecorated my bathroom with a beach theme. It's not summer here yet, but one of my favorite stores had some new decor for great prices. I had not bought decor items for a long time, but after decluttering, I wanted to beautify one of my spaces.
