Thank you Diane! You are the best!!!
❤
I love that post from Goldilocks and the three bears! She hit it on the mark for me! For a lot of my life I lived in who I wish I was. The past year or two due to your videos I live in who I am. It helps me thrive! I run my dishwasher before bed and I empty it in the morning when waiting for coffee to get done. That way I don't have to worry about it and dirty dishes can be put in throughout the day and my sink is clear. I am in the process of reading Murder Before Evensong. I am liking it so far. My self care this week is 2 and 4. I will try girl core. Have a wonderful weekend Diane 🎉
1. I tried oat milk with protein powder.
2. I got a new book and started it for an in person Bible study.
3. I have been walking for short bursts of time outside.
4. I bought a shirt that is a lovely teal color.
Have a restful weekend.

ANZAC biscuits and a Cuppa 🇳🇿 gotta have them every April for ANZAC day on the 25th
What a GREAT video!!!! I’m not sure why you don’t have 1M followers!!! Your local television station should pick you up for morning inspiration 👏👏
I totally agree!!
Good idea!
I also agree 😊
Exactly!!!!!!! Diane can be a lifeline for so. many. people!
I'd watch Diane's show every day!
I'm glad you are feeling chatty today. I enjoy your enthusiasm.
As I’m 56 lbs down on my weight loss journey, I’m going to try a new style! 💃🏼🥳 I’ll also be trying to really nail my routines and weekly home blessing hour so that I can start working the zones in. I think I started a bit prematurely since I haven’t been able to be consistent 😅🫣 happy Friday, dear Diane!! Thank you!! ❤️
I am an avid reader, so for this week I am going to try a new beverage. I enjoy your ideas. I retired in 2020 and have fallen in love with my little cottage and love to be home. It is just so nice to have the time to care for myself and my home.
I totally agree with you! Before retiring I never seemed to have enough time to look after my place as I would have liked - wish I had found Diane then - she would have been such a help!
Diane, my sweet husband ordered a book for me called The Year of Living Danishly by Helen Russell. I have adopted some hygge and Danish ideas into our life in Colorado. It is such a fun read because I feel know a bit about Denmark and hygge from following you for the last several years. I am a huge fan. Thank you for all of the content each week. It helps me so much to work towards minimalism and making space for things that matter.
Thank you for mentioning your book, I found it at my local library & made it my self-care choice for the week. Great read, really enjoying it, thanks for sharing ☕️📚
Years ago I timed how long it took to wash and wipe dry my kitchen floor on my hands and knees, only 15 minutes! One of the best things I ever did. Whenever I am waiting on something or something and have 20 minutes I know I could was the floor. Knowledge is everything 🌸
Your chat on Wednesday with the "My home is not a library" really resonated with me. I love my books and re read them over and over...however, there are some books which I don't re read. SO, I decided to put some books on probation just like you do with clothes. I made myself stay to read them. Guess what, I soon realised why I wasn't re reading them, and they were donated. Thank you, Diane!! Love your chats. They are so helpful and motivating. ❤ from Australia
Super idea I never thought of releasing my years worth of collections but, maybe that is something to explore.
Such a smart idea!
Sounds like something I need to do, so I'll be reading from my bookshelf this week.
It’s such a joy to go back to your videos, Diane! I was feeling groggy this morning because I didn’t sleep well last night. Now feeling so energized after I watch you ❤❤❤
I highly recommend downsizing one’s housing after the nest is empty. We started in the senior year of our last child. Less maintenance, inside and out; less inventory to tend to; less expenses; more freedom.
I needed to hear this today. I have trouble getting rid of anything I bring in. Too much!!!
Diane, I was feeling down, like a headache was coming on, but I wanted to fold my laundry before I sat down. I listened to you in this video, and now I feel so much better. I folded my laundry, put in a new load, and tidied the kitchen so it is ready for me to make dinner later. Now I am on the couch snuggling with my dog and husband, ready to enjoy self care time before evening routines. Thank you for helping me to enjoy my routines and my relaxing time more because I did my routines. ❤Joanna
I love how chatty you are today! I look forward to every Friday's chat. Have a great weekend!!
Dear Diane, I really appreciate the cheerful, enthusiastic vibe of your videos! You have a great talent of seeing everyday life as an engaging adventure. Thank you so much for sharing this exciting outlook! I've been struggling with a lot of anxiety recently and watching your cosy and cheerful videos feel like a soothing balm for my worried soul. Thank you! ❤
My self care was to ride my bike to the library to collect some books to read. The sun is out, and it is a beautiful day in South Australia . 😊
I look forward to Friday chats:) love the self-care missions! You make me smile:)
It's Monday and I am just getting to the Friday video! For self-care this week I will research a book and put it on order at my local library.
I woke up this Morning thinking about what I needed to do. Today is Weekly Home Blessing Hour. I thought about you as I was out finishing up a task: " You don't have to want to do it - Just get it done!" And oh, how satisfying it is when the task is complete. I completed everything on my list and was sitting with a glass of water and some 'self-care' when hubby called- headed home for lunch. "What are you doing he said?" I replied with a smile, "Oh, just watching Diane." Perfect!
I'm still keeping my promise. Watching, liking, commenting. I'm behind but I'm catching up. I'm listening while doing dishes!
Love leftovers, no waste and saves valuable time.
I'm cleaning out gardening magazines while watching.
1. Saturday is first Farmers Market of the season. Looking for to spring flowers and veggies. Also there's a vendor who does juices.
3. I've been getting out and walking every day. Sometimes times morning. Sometimes afternoon or evening. Depends on the day. I walk the land and see what's blooming.
The question of when to run the dishwasher. I don't have one, but if i did, i would run it last thing at night, and empty it as part of my morning routine. That way it would be ready to put stuff in all through the day. I got this from someone who does Flylady. I wash my dishes after dinner, and put them away as part of my morning routine. This really works for me.
It is funny that you were talking about ANZAC biscuits as ANZAC day is next week (25th April) in Australia so everyone will be eating and baking them soon. The history is that they were made by women’s groups to send to the Australian and New Zealand WW1 troops as the ingredients didn’t spoil easily and kept well during Naval transport. Thanks for a lovely uplifting chat Diane 😊
Love the Friday videos and reading all the comments 😀
Happy Friday, Diane!❤❤❤ Loved hearing your answer on your 1st question today. We love eating leftovers. Yesterday, I made Poor Man’s Stew in my crock pot, ate it last night, saved some in the freezer for a busy next week, and will take 2 servings to my parents this afternoon. Nothing wasted here! Have a fabulous weekend!❤❤❤
Great job - and now I'm googling Poor Man's Stew! 👋😁
@@DianeinDenmark…..it’s not a gourmet meal, but it has saved me many times! 😂
Thank you Diane. I have been giving myself a manicure whilst listening and watching your video. A wee bit of self care and a big dose of motivation x
Love the idea of doing something active w/o commitment!!! Just hearing you say that made me feel light and happy! Like being a child again, just doing what seems fun at the time!!
Yes- Fend For Yourself days are the best. Family has to eat what is in the fridge.🎉
I can not get over how young all of you look!!! Beautiful and natural it’s just so refreshing! 🥰
I love a London Fog!!! It’s what I get at Starbucks 😂 I prefer it over their coffee offerings.
Thank you sharing the DYT podcast - I’m not part of that group and sorry I missed it. So excited to see it. ❤
Have a wonderful weekend 💕🌸📚
I love your longer Friday chats! I've started to be more intentional with future planning meals now that we have another freezer in the basement and it's been a kind of fun challenge! ❤
It seems like Denmark and Sweden are way ahead of the US when it comes to recycling. Is there any advice on washing plastic items by hand instead of in the dishwasher to minimize micro plastics going into waste water? I am switching from plastic to glass to avoid leeching of endocrine disrupters into food. Switched leftover containers and replaced my old coffee maker with the plastic filter basket to an electric kettle where only glass and stainless steel touch the water.
Fashion Trends: My favorite is to wrap the front panels of an oversized jacket on top of each other and secure with a belt that also cinches the waist. Very flattering. Time to raid the boyfriend jackets again, with permission, of course .Works great for a type. 3. Might not be bright enough for a type 1.
We are currently in Copenhagen and enjoying it so much! Off to the Viking museum tomorrow. Love the candles everywhere and the people are so lovely! 🎉
Any tips on where to stay that's central?
@@susanleadbetter8639 depends what your budget is, there’s some gorgeous hotels on the waterfront near the main Kopenhavn H train station.
Diane, your videos are so positive and encouraging. Thank you 😊
I have started to try your book recommendations, so far I have found only treasures… 😊
Number 1 for me as I am sitting here drinking a strawberry lemonade kombucha. There’s been lots of buzz on how important fermented foods are in your diet, so this is my attempt to add one.
Folded clothes while watching. Have been digging out from the blizzard we had here in the upper midwest. Lots of wet heavy snow. So while the blizzard was raging, i finished one book and am ready to start another.
Leftovers from supper usually become my lunch the next day. If there are any leftovers at week end, I add them into stir fry or casseroles. LLAP 🖖
Hi Diane! Thank you for encouraging trying something new, but not making yourself feel like you have to commit to it. That really resonated!
This week I'm going with mission #1. Tonight I'm meeting with a group of friends to go out to a fancy dinner. They have signature mocktails and I'm going to give one a whirl.
I'm taking a road trip and listening to a new audiobook.
Diane, you never disappoint. Thank you for the cheery, chatty video. I’m a bit late watching it, but I will look forward to trying a new drink and a new exercise. 🎉🎉🎉
Love that you’re feeling chatty Diane as I so enjoy our chats! I’ve just ordered some books to loan from the library but I’ve also just finished an audiobook called Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby van Pelt. It wasn’t my normal genre but I really enjoyed it. Have you heard of it? One of the main characters is an octopus called Marcellus and I loved him. Have a great weekend 😀
I love our Friday chats! It’s a fun and relaxed way to head into the weekend. I will be trying a bit of exercise this weekend. Have a great one!
I found an old copy of Rosamunde Pilcher Coming Home - I'm loving it! Will look into The Three Dog Mystery. Thanks Diane!
I've read The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher at least 5 times!!🥰
Love Comin Home!
I love your enthusiasm Diane. I am getting my house in order to take on my sister in law as a housemate. She is a widow of 6 years and been struggling without a job for so long. I am a widow of just 6 months and my husband set me up with a good income. I hope we can make it work, she has 4 dogs and I have 2.
Diane - I love listening to audiobooks and do so through my public library as well. You are so right, the narrator makes the world of a difference. I have tried new books by researching the narrator. A fantastic way to get out of a reading rut. I love both the Sunday Philosophy Club series - which is set in Edinburgh - the #1 Ladies Detective Agency series by Alexander McCall Smith. Both series have fantastic narrators! Highly recommend. My self care for the week is to try a new beverage. I ordered a new tea that is supposed to be helpful with seasonal allergies. Have a wonderful week!
Your videos always perk me up. I find them to be a great comfort. Thank you!
I was sick this week and look forward to your videos. I am slowly recovering so I plan to listen to an audiobook while sipping a new tea.
I stopped packing and made a salad dressing so we can all enjoy a salad alongside our lunch. Self care/Family care
First in the morning I put my water to boil in my electric tea kettle and empty the dishwasher , done at the same time. The dishwasher is turned on at night just before going to bed. Will be watercolor painting hummingbirds this weekend. We eat leftovers for lunches too.
Self care mission number 4!
Yes! Our library does free audio books. Nice to have one going while I go for a walk!
I'm going to try something new without committing, but it's a five week botanical watercolour course. It's starting tomorrow, very excited. Have a good weekend xxx
I LOVE leftover too Diane! And I batch cook soups, casseroles, curry, chilli and spaghetti sauce so I always have things in the freezer, ready to eat.
Thank you for your regular posting! Love it all!
I've read the first two books in the Her Majesty Investigates series and found them just delightful.
We always thought that we would move to a smaller home as the kids moved out. But the first ones that moved out started having children. We founf our home was the onlu one large enough to accommodate everyone for our frequent get-togethers. Sometimes, I wish we had an ever bigger kitchen, dining and living room.
Loving these regular check-ins. Thank you!
Another lovely, funny and uplifting video, thanks Diane. We "downsized" then family came back so had to add a loft conversion!! I also am an Anthony Horowitz fan - he came my children's school years ago and my daughter met him, but her twin brother was out on a trip, and not happy about missing out! I've just come across Frances Brody via a jumble sale book, and so I have started her Kate Shackleton cosy murder series set in the 1920s. Good up to now. XOXO
I run the dishwasher at night before bed,and empty it first thing in the morning when I am making my coffee… it’s just my hubby and me. When I was raising my family, it was sometimes twice a day. Plus I usually hand wash, at least once a day
Can't wait for your collaboration with carol tuttle I'm a type one but have spent my life being a 2 to keep everyone happy.
Funny - I'm just getting ready for a "Working Saturday" - first thing I want to do is put out the garden furniture 😊. We expect summer temperatures, about 25 degrees, here in Germany - climate change at it's best...
Habe a great weekend everyone ❤!
Leftovers are the best! Thanks for another lovely video! London Fogs are yummy!
I've done loads whilst we chattered I live alone with my son so often my chatter with you is the only adult conversation I have in my day!! Always gets me motivated and positive - thanks!!!
My missions: 1)🍷New Drink: Have a lot of dried herbs from last yrs garden so going to experiment using as tea. 2)📖Books: Have some here at home I've been seeing on the shelf so just going to grab one and see how it goes. 3) 🚲New Exercise: Some new bike trails were put in our back woods so going to spend some time biking out there this yr. My hubby, grandson and nieces are getting into trail riding too so they can join me. 4) 👚Clothing Trend: Could use a few feminine pieces for this spring... maybe a little floral or lace. My winter wardrobe is quite blah and heavy feeling and I could use a little pick-me-up going into spring. There! that's all 4 missions this time! Thanks for the encouragement, Diane!
Hello Diane. I want you to know that I love that you get chatty every now and then. I'm very interested in peoples' every day life in Denmark and Sweden and the UK. I think I'll read something interesting this week from my library. May even look into an audio book since I rarely do that. I'm looking forward to more kitchen work next week. Have a good one Diane. Bye!
Reading " the thursday Murder Club", fun seniors doing their own investigation. Make my cards to mail to my pen pals.
Dear Diane, I love your videos!!! I'm planning to walk to an open air gym station in a park nearby and test to do some exercises there. This might be a nice sports-alernative for beautiful wheather. Perhaps early in the morning on hot summer days. I'm a bit excited about it and will report here how it went. Like always a big hug from Germany! 🤗
It felt like I was having a proper chat with a friend today! Thanks for all the questions you answered today. I'm off to the library to get a magazine to enjoy!
I finished all the Miss Silver mysteries, thanks to my friend who has them all. I am now onto Dick Francis and Felix Francis mysteries. It snowed here in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago, but is spring like now. Thanks for the encouragement!
Thanks, Diane! I really enjoyed your chatty video! ⭐️
I must be a strange person - I really enjoy emptying the dishwasher!! 🤣 I run it after tea on the quick cycle and empty it mid evening!
Will try challenge number 4! 👗
Bon weekend! 😃
My husband loves ANZAC biscuits! ANZAC day is on the 25th April so I’ll be baking them then as we remember all the people who’ve died for our freedom in wars. Thank you for another great cozy chat.
Love leftovers! Self care missions 1 & 2 for me this week. Thanks, Diane!
I had a dark & stormy, but don’t like ginger beer. So my son-in-law made a couple of changes & I got a very fresh tasting drink! My daughter-in-law & I talked about the book she had just started : “Circe” by Madeline Miller. It sounds like something I would like so I’ll borrow it from her when she has finished it. My non-commitment exercise was kicking & throwing a ball around in the back yard! A fun weekend!
A bit behind in watching this but I'm going to try a new exercise this week. Thanks for the encouragement!
I'm going to do all of the self-care choices. I want to suggest an Author for you to check out. Her name is Lisa Scottoline. They are all cozy crime mysteries. I am listening again to her book called Eternal I got from our library. Plus I bought her newest book. So tea and reading, walking and listening, adding new trends to my wardrobe, and a noncommital new exercise. Thank you Diane.
Thanks for that nice cheery conversation! 😊
Working through your playlists as I spend extra time this weekend getting ready for a move later this month. I usually don't give myself "credit" for things I have accomplished with simplifying and decluttering. But somehow, I am finding that getting my closets and cupboards ready for packing to be...easy? At least I feel like, "I can do this! Because of everything I have DONE until now." It really does add up. Thanks always, Diane, you read one of my comments during a weekly planning video and I was so happy. Rah rah rah!
Looking forward to watching you and Carol!
I so appreciated your “no commitment exercise”! I honestly never thought of exercise in that way, but what you said is so true. I actually have not tried something because I knew I would not do it consistently. Such a great concept.
Upon hearing you say that there’s a new Anthony Horowitz mystery coming I immediately put my request in at the library!! I love his books too! This week I think I’ll try the new and uncommitted form of exercise - Thanks Diane - you’re the best!!
Well this weekend I have already read my book, taken a walk in the gorgeous weather, and had some new tea arrive this week, which I’m enjoying!!! I’ll have to try one of these new fashion trends, which may be out of my comfort zone, but it’s fun to change things up with the seasons! Thanks for all you do to inspire us!🎉🎉🎉
I love your chatty videos! Thanks for always inspiring us!
I’m American and I absolutely love the look of no upper cabinets. That is something my eyes always go to in non American homes.
Crazy week here. Looking for new books is a must for me, so number 2 for sure. May pamper myself with the others…😊
Rah rah rah! I prepped the veg for tomorrow's meals, did the washing up and folded a load of wash whilst I listened today Diane. It was much fun xx
Loved your closet declutter and “probation” for clothing items tip this past week!! I love the self care missions!!
Looking forward to the clothing trends show! Today I unloaded the dw, wiped down the counters and did a few hand dishes while listening. Oh, and checked my list of books on hold at my library. I read a lot but I enjoy darker books than you read, suspense and thrillers, but I also enjoy romantic comedies as well.
Hi Diane, you look so fresh and pretty today in. your white with red accents. Suits you so well.
I loved today's video Diane. Very uplifting and inspiring. Thank you.
Love the try an exercise without commitment idea!
Hello! We love leftovers for lunch. I try to make my home as cozy as possible. It has changed over the years as my family has changed-it’s a living thing! We declutter often or things will get out of hand.
It is so nice when you are chaty.
So excited for the new Horowitz book! Wahoo! Thanks for the heads up. ❤
You look really well and happy. I love that. I will be walking and biking in the hills this week sometime. Love your videos.
You’ve inspired me to get back to audiobooks on my library app! I love listening while walking pooch 🐶
This morning, our library offered free eclipse glasses if you take out an item. I opted for a magazine as, last week, I took out a book about Nellie Bly, from their Women's History Display. I'm opting for #3 because I found some Chair Yoga videos on CZcams that I'd like to try.
Update: The magazine is covering several topics I've been researching!
so true about the more space you have, the more you fill. I've been on a (slow) mission to clear spaces. Maybe thinking of it like the use of negative space in art, but applied to living spaces will help me.
ANZAC biscuits are delicious, especially dipped in chocolate on one side (sacrilegious to some, yummy to me)
I discovered the series by S.J. Bennett first with The Windsor Knot in 2021, All the Queen's Men in 2022 and Murder Most Royal in 2023. My library doesn't have A Three Dog Problem yet so I went and put in an author alert on it. I enjoyed them all. I'm in the Minneapolis/St Paul part of Minnesota USA. Love seeing your choices!
Thanks for the video Diane! You always inspire me. 😊 Have a great weekend! 💙
Cleaning my craft room 🎉
Good luck with that. My craft room is so overwhelming.
Hello, Diane! I thought I could live without my garden, so we moved, and now I miss my garden terribly. I need to move to a home with a huge garden again. Have a great weekend, everyone!🥰
I empty mine in the morning, I run it over night. Now there is 2 of us sometimes every other night 🌿
