I really enjoy your content Dan. You are probably the most appealing voice and energy in the villa pod cast world. Good insight, and relaxed approach. Keep it up. So proud of that performance against Arsenal. I was smiling all day.

I think the performance gives a blueprint for how we should be approaching Lille on Thursday.

I’m still hyped to the max after the weekend. Beating Arsenal twice and City at home has made this an unbelievable season already. I’m happy with whatever happens now. I’ve got faith though in the boys and Unai. Everybody gets a 10/10. uTv

Imo we need to take the same approach against Lille on Thursday.
Defensively be nice and compact, quieten the home crowd and grow in to the game, then at half time depending on the score make changes accordingly and try and impose our style like we did yesterday.

What about Emi save with his leg ! Would of been a different result if it wasn't for him ... absolute legend

Zaniolo is cushioning those long balls with big guys on his his back really well. Other than Watkins, we haven't really had a big presence there until now.

Arsenal were good in the first half but nowhere close to as good as Arteta was saying after the match. He's such an embarrassment as a manager. I'm so glad Emery completely outclassed him yesterday. UTV

When kamara isn't available mcginn has to play in the holding role, an enforcer. We've looked flimsy in midfield until yesterday UTV

Maybe the suspensions are a good thing. Mcginn and Dougie having rests before the hectic run in😀They have played a serious amount of football. Nice to have options around field also. See Moreno out but Cash, Lenglet are back fit.

Foden’s has done it in the best team in the world, Watkins has done it in the fourth best team in England. There has to be levels considered here.

Troy deemey 100 goals in all competitions in 299 games 47 prem goals in 165 games, Ollie 141 prem games 59 goals 😂 over 150 goals in total, not bad for a winger trying to be a striker

Steven Gerrard was never worth a go. When you're talking about the next step, where we wanted to get to, in what way was he ever worth a gamble? What did his CV have on it, that suggested he was ever an upgrade on Dean Smith? Not to mention the cost to hire him; and when talking about gambles, have to consider the cost to fire him too!
    Insane take.
One trophy in how many years Scotland? As regularly said by many, less than St Johnstone in the same time. The year they won the title was a season where Rodgers wanted to go and left, and Celtic posed zero threat that season, all season. It was also the Covid season so no pressure from fans or Ibrox, a demanding ground. Before a Rangers fan gets mardy, trust me, irdc, I'm criticising Gerrard, not Rangers, and our thinking behind hiring him. Anything fans say doesn't take away your title. You think Leicester fans care that people will say they only won the league because the top 6 collectively shit the bed? I know I wouldn't. If you think Celtic being shit and Covid not having a factor on that season, then whatever, great, we disagree.
Not to mention it was well known that he relied heavily on and left most things to his number 2, who btw, was also shit; things didn't suddenly go bad when he left, there was alarm bells post Gerrard's first 6 or so games!!
Nothing about him suggested he was worth the Villa job. Only good thing about him was his name value, and if we're hiring a manager, the most important man at the club, based on name alone from playing days, then you're not a serious club. Set us back a year and inflated our wage bill heavily.
But, that said, we may not have Emery if he had not come, so there is that... but Emery was the kind of manager we should have been targetting, not Lampard and Gerrard jfc

paused to make first comment - un pausing, the next sentence "an extensive search resulted in Gerrard coming out on top"? Really? Something tells me it was Purslow and Purslow alone who got that one done... I have to believe that, because the process for hiring our next manager cannot result in another Gerrard 😭😭😭😭

Gregg, I appreciate your knowledge and input. But this is an Aston Villa podcast. Remember that. Bias is okay on your own platform. Foden winning the player of the year very much is boring and predictable. You seem to go against the general consensus of the general Villa Fan.
