    Love your sharing the reality of our faith. Only issue I have I stay on line to get more afraid I'll miss something. I'll be 83 on 4 of July and our churches still closed here. It's killing me! Thanks for being there for us. Pray for my son to return to the faith. I'm working on grandchildren. Last but not least my beloved grandson's wife left him. They have two children I'm praying for. I'm moving back to where they live so I will be avaliable to take them to church with me. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU.

    Hi, thank you so much for this and other videos you produce. I hope you see my comment as constructive and not destructive. I lapsed as a Catholic some decades ago. I didn't lose faith in God or Jesus or our Blessed Mother, but I did lose faith in the Catholic Church and the Bible. I had a Damascus moment a couple of years ago (for which I will be forever grateful to our Blessed Mother and the messages at Fatima). My reasons for lapsing play into the things not discussed in this video, which I will come to. I now thirst for anything that helps me in my knowledge of God and how I get to Heaven from the wilderness I got myself to as a lapsed Catholic.
    One of the things that helped me lose faith in the teachings of the Catholic Church was the provenance of the Gospels. I had read and believed that none of Matthew Luke Mark and John had actually met Jesus, making me wonder how much was written might be authoritative, and how much had all the credibility of Chinese whispers. This was therefore one of the first things I looked at when I came home. I felt quite stupid not realising that John was at the foot of the Cross, and that Matthew was was the tax collector. In watching your brilliant video, I separately searched many things for more insight; such as St Peters house, and the story of the obelisk in the Vatican. Trying to find more about the Gospels of Mark and Luke, I found myself up to the eyeballs in google searches that say with great conviction that none of the books of the Gospel were written by people who met Jesus; they were anonymously written with names attributed later. Some of these comments supposedly come from those who study religion; self professed experts and so on. Yes, I know, as Abraham Lincoln once said "Don't believe everything you read on the internet." But it made me think that it would be topic for a video.
    If this doubt about the authority of the Gospels helped me to lose faith, perhaps anything you can find that would help us to believe in the provenance of the Gospels may help others to come home or not stray as I did. Of course I will keep searching as well. God Bless you for the work you guys do.

    According to the Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter is the 1st Pope. St. Peter was a married-man... so why does the Catholic Church in an unscriptural manner (in my opinion) forbid Catholic priests to get married? If a priest wants to get married, he should be allowed to & not be forbidden. If a priest wants to be unmarried & live a celibate life, that equally should be allowed. Hopefully a good Catholic/Christian person can give an answer to my question.

    • @lilwaynesworld0
      @lilwaynesworld0 Před 3 lety +1

      Was he still married though are is that your assumption no where in the Bible and you are Bible alone is there mention of Peters wife only a mother in law this is an argument from silence on your part this is like assuming Joseph was alive during Jesus ministry he is never mentioned to be alive so that would be an argument from silence. In Peters day and age women routinely died in child birth and mothers in law would take care of children I such a case so it’s not out of the question this is what happened here.The tradition that he is a widower is mentioned here and alluded to here by some of the church fathers

    • @frenchmansfury8022
      @frenchmansfury8022 Před 3 lety +1

      The argument they make is that having a wife and family splits their devotion to the church. I think they'd get more priests if they let them be married because, well, sex be a dam fine thing for starters👌👈 and also people don't fancy living alone with no special someone. So a change will probably happen in the future when the church has dwindled to the point they need priests more than the harsh ideal.

    • @phoult37
      @phoult37 Před 3 lety +2

      Priestly celibacy is a practice or discipline, not a doctrine. There are married Roman Catholic Priests today, such as married men who were Luthern pastors and then convert to Catholicism and become priests. In addition, other Catholic rites allow married priests and are still in total union with Rome. Thomas "the doubter" is a canonized saint, and is called Thomas the Apostle. He is the patron saint of India and has several prominent shrines. Other saints are named after St. Thomas the Apostle, such as St. Thomas Aquinas. In short, if someone wanted to pick Thomas because he doubted, that would be odd, but if they wanted to pick him because he overcame his doubt and professed faith, that would be noble.

      @@phoult37 just so we're clear, do you think its noble to believe claims without objective and preferably empirical evidence, and "odd" to do the opposite and demand that kind of evidence before believing fantastic and miraculous claims?
      If that's what you're implying, then I have several ocean front properties you might be interested in. You seem like a noble fellow.

      @@frenchmansfury8022 You are missing the point: if one is getting confirmed in the Catholic Church, then it would be odd to choose a patron saint based on his own doubting, since the person being confirmed should already have made up his mind about the Truth of the Catholic Church.
      Regarding your other comment:
      1)To "believe" is to trust without objective and empirical evidence, so yes, it is noble. 2) How can one have objective evidence that is not empirical? After all, empiricism is the basis for objectivity.
      3) Miracles by their nature cannot be objectively proven or measured, as they posit divine intervention, which of course is outside the scope of measurement (you can't quantify an infinite and unquantifiable God). There is certainly subjective evidence for miracles, but not objective. I'd like to note though that the "objective empirical evidence" bar is extremely high and rarely used in a person's daily life. You certainly don't walk around measuring everything before making decisions, and assuming you have a friend or loved one, that relationship is not based on objective empiricism.

      @@phoult37 extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. If scribbled heresay, testimonies, and other subjective evidence are all you require to believe supernatural claims, what stops you from believing the angel Gabriel spoke the final revelation to Muhammad? That demons possessed some young girls in Salem? Or that leprechauns ate my homework? After all, I was an eyewitness to what those little fiends did, or so I can claim without repercussion if no one has the mind to ask for any more proof than the claim itself.
      I use objective and empirical together because their colloquial understandings can differ. Empirical generally means things accessable to our senses, but even things that our senses cant detect can be verified by objective means like Neutrinos, quarks, magnetic fields etc.
      If you're game for more conversation, id like to know the best evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. Pretend I'm a young family member who is skeptical, and who you desperately need to save from the fires of hell by convincing them of the truth of the Jesus Christ. Give me the best you got👍

      @@frenchmansfury8022 Your first paragraph is a long straw-man. In addition, those other examples you listed contain internal contradictions and provable falsehoods. They are not analogous to the claims of Christianity in any meaningful way.
      I'll gladly talk to you about Christianity, but your paragraph is littered with so many errors at the offset that I don't know how fruitful it will be. For example, "I" cannot save anyone from Hell, least of all myself. Conversion does not manifest through argument alone, and as such, there is no "perfect" argument for God that will convince a person to believe. Satan himself was an archangel in Heaven and still rebelled against God; some people simply reject the Truth. I don't want to get into a dialogue with you if your sole intent is quarrel and argument at the rejection of any and all Truth. I'm not interested in intellectual pride and masturbation, so if that's your intent, find a different sparring partner.

    Please do not confuse or mislead your viewers by drawing parables between Catholicism and Islam, they are night and day. Any similarities between Christianity and Islam, come from the fact that they basically adapted and manipulated parts of the Old Testament. They completely blaspheme the New Testament. They have no real reverence for Jesus, which is evident by the words they often use to describe our Holy Queen.
