I actually needed that reminded that I don't need to go for fluency either. I keep putting off learning German because I'm mainly focusing on Greek, but since I'm learning German just to communicate with relatives, I don't need to be extremely good at it. Just aiming for the basics is also good enough
As a greek person keep goinggggâ€

I used to have this feeling of failure when I saw people speak a language to a higher level than me, but then I realised its more important to enjoy the process and to perservere.
The colorful background looks great for the shorts :)
And great explanation! Makes me realize I'm working on more languages than I think myself, even if it's just 1 week in maintenance mode in French or a few conversations in Japanese (though obviously I'm not as goal-oriented then, I'm always just trying to keep my level somewhat đ )
I love your 12 Languages in 2020 video. Ever since I started getting into several languages, I always hear "You have to focus on one language at a time" and I get it, but it's not me! That video is so motivating for me and I go back and re-listen often :) Thanks for your insights Lindie! I hope you're doing great!!
I always hear this too along with âfinish that one first before you learn another oneâ like-you never actually FINISH learning any language so that never made sense to me đ and taking years to become relatively fluent in one language then learning a new one? It would take forever to learn a handful of languages if that was the case
@@MinSunYe Right! I can't wait that long before getting into another language! Haha
@@whitneyle5731 seriously, I don't have that kind of patience xD
If you always keep it in your mind you always do it for thriving and entertaining yourself you can find in learning language a heaven from this stressful life.
I cannot learn just one language at the time Iâm always switching and mixing because itâs so much more fun. I tend to get tired and bored working on a single task.
That's what I'm doing too! Are you still learning Norwegian?
I have a current goal to get fluent in Japanese, possibly German. Other languages i would like to be able to at least converse with someone native and be able to understand them
You are really hardworking...wanna be like you someday ....
Well said!
I set some goals for my languages, but one main âgoalâ for every language that Iâm learning is to achieve 1000h of immersion(especially watching YT/anime). After that I can pick up another language or try to make more progress
I once wanted to speak five languages. Right now, I am trying to improve my second language, and my third is on hold.
I admire you, Lindie, very well saidâ€
Hi. Charles Bowen here. I am a Christian and I feel God calling me to learn Mandarin Chinese to the point where I can teach it. Does that sound crazy to you? Sometimes it does to me, but in any case, Iâm doing it.
you dont need to speak the language to do mission work.
@@anires1195 maybe I am needed to teach it. I donât know.
That definitely does not sound crazy. I am also a Christian and feel like God is pushing me to Japan. I started learning Japanese several years ago, but I felt the pull more recently.
Exactly! đ
even if you speak 6 on conversational level would be impressive.
keep going.
im trying to learn Hungarian on B1, it will be my 4th, and is hard as hell...
My goals for 2023: get to B1 in French and improve my listening skills in Spanish. I'm a B2 in my ability to express myself in Spanish, but there are many situations where I don't understand someone and it's not because I don't know the words, but rather my listening skills are still weak.
What is your suggestion for the people who can not afford any language course or subscription but are very much eager to learn different languages?
How do you generally break down working on multiple languages? By day or by month?
I think she actually has a video about how to breaks up her languages
czcams.com/video/V15cn8CpKAM/video.html
If I remember correctly itâs this video. She shows her like language journal and how she sets up which languages sheâll study for what month. đ
it starts at around 8:35 in the video if you donât wanna watch the whole thing and just want to see how she breaks the languages up
