What are all these ignorant, butt-hurt questions? I'm not that far into the video, so hopefully they get better. What is it about people that makes them so angry and hateful? That's rhetorical considering some people are just miserable.
Thanks for all your content. While I don't see Panama for myself (I'm a future Portuguese citizen), I have learned a lot and deeply enjoy watching you live your best life. The haters can keep on hating: it generates content.

Thank you so much for sharing that especially if Panama is not on your list. That means a lot to me. As for the questions, I was in complete shock at some of them and they proved my point as one of the reason I don’t want to live there again.

Never heard the term in that first question and had to google - wow, someone had to spend their time inventing yet another hateful term for a human. And yet another example of WHY PEOPLE LEAVE THE USA ! Thanks for this vid and sharing your views. And even though your voice-over tours are very interesting and helpful, it’s cool to get to know you and your personality with the head-on ones you’re doing lately. Love the honesty and sometimes snarky sense of humor - always well deserved! 😂

Many people who are unhappy often do not travel, which limits their exposure to new experiences and perspectives that might otherwise bring joy and growth. It's often best not to engage with individuals who don't like themselves, as their negativity can be draining and unproductive.
On a personal note, we enjoy living in Panama after spending our adult lives abroad in the military. Coming back to the U.S. after living abroad was a culture shock, but Panama offers a wonderful quality of life with its good food, health benefits, and overall atmosphere. We left the U.S. after being too close to the attempted coup, despite having high salaries. The stressors in America just weren't worth the money. When people say "go back," they don't realize that statement is built on classism and division. Technically, they're the true immigrants to the U.S. Living in Panama has been a refreshing change, free from the pressures and divisions that had become too overwhelming back in the States.
Yes, Panama has a caste and classism problem, but it is not as evident as in the U.S. It was refreshing to see the people of Panama come together and force the government to change an unpopular decision. There's no fear of police or police brutality here, just total peace with genuine and trustworthy people.
We love and value you sharing your experiences through videos, and for those who have negative comments, they don't have to watch. ❤

@AbroadAbility I believe it's a law called "Squatters Rights." It was so bad in Florida that Governor DeSantis had to pass law HB 621 to protect property owners from professional squatters.

Outstanding video on moving to Panama, and heartfelt thanks for answering all of my questions. 👏
As one of your subscribers and viewers, I think it's important for me to let you know that what shines through most in your videos are your objective perspectives on Panama and your honesty. In other words, your Channel is an extension of the REAL YOU. I like that. 👍
In addition to my appreciation for your content on Panama, I'd like to support your opinion that it's important to connect to one's roots. In order to be COMPLETE, people need a broader context of "self realization"; without this reference point to gauge and measure and navigate life, it's easy to be "flying upside down" so to speak (and pilots would understand my meaning if they didn't have a GPS or marker to guide them at 35,000 feet in the air 😉.).
My other take from your video is - VISIT PANAMA, and do do FREQUENTLY if possible!☝️
You're simply amazing, and I'll leave it at that. ✨
Stay well, and Best Wishes of Success in your every endeavor!👏

Another great video, thank you. And more and more questions. What about starting out in Panama as a perpetual tourist and leaving every 90 days. I have a friend who did that about 2 years ago and he's still there. Can you sign an apartment lease as this type of tourist? How do you pay your monthly rent and utilities if you're using an ATM where you can only get $250 out with that ridiculous $7 fee? I plan to live in El Cangrejo and the rents are $1,000 plus plus...that's a lot of ATM withdrawals. Again, thank you so much.

Panama frowns on perpetual tourists, there are snowbirds that come down here every year and stay 4-6 months & then return the following year. There is a digital nomad visa plus a number of other visas.

Thanks for this informative video. I’m interested in possibly relocating to Panama City on a temporary basis, 4 months out of the year. However, wanted to enquire about the cleanliness of the city’s streets. Have traveled extensively and am turn off by dog 🐕 poop and trash on the streets. Do I have to worry about that being prevalent there?

Very informative, thanks. I have some separation anxiety like you said, selling everything to make the big move. I have visited Panama before and loved it so now I am in the phase of staying longer to be sure it is someplace I will love. My biggest concern is I am an early retiree, and I don't see many people tackle this one. I don't have a pension, but I live comfortably off of savings and my retirement I have built up. I do get disability monthly from the military service I have done. For the pension Visa without a pension, how do you qualify and does anyone know if military disability will suffice? That is my burning question. They have placed the friendly nations visa out of reach for many living on a budget at this point. I'm not an entrepreneur, I'm just trying to live my best life. So, what options exist for residency for someone like me?

    • @mtngrl5859
      @mtngrl5859 Před 2 měsíci

Yes, one has Freedom of Speech in the US but if one wants to live in Panama, it is more limited here. For example, there is nothing like a Yelp here, people are not allowed to talk negatively about a business-even if it is true- like they are in the US. One cannot talk negatively about the government. There was a woman from the Boston area- a woman of color- who was perceived to be trying to stir up racial dissension and she was expelled from the country. Another national from Taiwan was also expelled back to their country. Unless one is a citizen of Panama not only can they not vote, they can't protest unless they are a citizen.
