- When it comes to driving the Nürburgring for the very first time, people are often discouraged by the track's technical aspect, the weather or other drivers. Today I will show you how you can be slow and safe on you first lap.
Thanks for watching!

Robert: buys a fleet of supercars for his personal enjoyment on and off track
Misha: “hey nice golf”
Well you need to appreciate a good golf.
Hey look at the bright side, at least your fuel consumption was 5 L per 100km :)
That's actually a pretty interesting video. It's more or less how I'm thinking my first lap will be. I was kinda thoughtful at first about it though because I was always hearing that driving slow in the Ring can cause accidents etc but I think you made it pretty clear that if your purpose is simply to enjoy a nice relaxed drive, staying on the right side will be safe and ideal for everyone.
Thank you for another how to video. One of the most important of all.
Totally agree
One thing to note: Dont be afraid in the way like "The track is so tight that i am a bit afraid". This track is still like 6 or 7 meters wide. I was surprised myself the first time how wide it actual looks in person.
jeez, jumping on an old vid after becoming a new fan shows how well Misha has made fitness progress! Awesome.
This Channel is sooo underrated
Went to the Nurburgring last weekend and it was amazing. The experiance isnt only on the track, the whole area is great to explore. Great back roads, great food, the Nurburg was great, had an Apex taxi with the GT2(most violent fun you can have), also had the RSR experience with the new Civic type R, even took my own 318is shitbox for 6 laps. Any car guy should visit the ring for a few days.
I even saw you Misha at the Apex quarters. Best regards from Ireland.
Misha, great advice, as always. May I add one thing: the importance of really using the rear view mirror(s). In most countries, except on German highways, mirrors are often neglected because the speed differential of all cars is almost zero. Therefore, most drivers are just not used to really using them, nor have they ever experienced a car seemingly “far away” being on your rear just a few seconds later, with a speed differential(!) of 100mph/160km/h. They’re going 60mph and think they’re fairly fast, but the guy behind them is at 160mph, on edge, and his well-being in this split-second situation depends on the guy in front now to not screw this up!
That would be my #1 advice on a German highway, and also for the Ring.
I Used to drive in a city full of crazy people and that made me check mirrors frequently. This saved me many times from stupid crashes. Great advice!
As with everything, the risk lies with the car going at high speed, you can’t count on a beginner who has every right to be on the public road to know it all. If you want to chase lap times and drive like a lunatic enter a race
This is exactly what I needed! I'm planning to on the Ring for the first time on my birthday in a couple of weeks in my little Diesel Astra Sports Tourer. I'm already pretty scared but this definitely helped! Tysm!
I'm nobody to rate you but in my opinion it's really rare and nice to see a person in this world who build his own channel and carrier like you do!
Your motivation and diligence is a good example for me and for many ppl..
Congrats and enjoy what you have built, you have deserved it, but be safe please, the comrads don't want to lose another talent!
🙏
My biggest fear are the unexperienced drivers that do push theirselves to much to try and look cool and because of it, not being able to stay on the inside and bump into you
Enjoyed the tour with track names. The last time I drove the track was in 1965 in a VW Squareback. On that day both the Nordschleife and Sudschleife were open. There were no barriers at that time only the hedges and trees.
BTW, there is also a section of road in the Mountains nortthwest of Frakfurt called the Schwalben Schwanze.
TF is one of the scariest thing on the world when the track is corwded. :DThere are so many different "speeding" cars/drivers it's just insane.
That is the real beauty of TF.
My wobbly Citroën took notes throughout. As did I.
If all goes well my Citroen C1 is doing one or more laps as well this week.
@@Ommel195 oofer, once you can afford a better car, please keep the citroen and modify it into a complete race car, should be absolutely loads of fun on under 100hp going flat out on 95% of the track
@@onelyone6976 Sadly I crashed it in a ditch last year. Otherwise that would have been the plan.
Working on a Peugeot 106 right now. 😅
@@Ommel195 drive safe your 106, it's a fun little car.
This is the best way tot enjoy the track for te first time. Did exactly this the first (And only) time i drove te track.
Still need to beware on heavy crowded days, they'll pass you with 3 cars next to each other, centimeters from your rear view mirrors!
This video helped me to mentally prepare myself of driving the Nordschleife, so thank you Misha! :)
We should have watched a Video like this before we went to the Nürburgring. My best friend totaled his VW Bora within 2 mins on the Ring because he undererstimated the corner and went way too fast.
But I will still come back and try to be safe and learn the Track the right way. Mistakes are part of the learning experience!
Thanks Misha for your awesome Content!!
Thank you, this video made me fell much more confident about being a first time slower driver on the track next year. Be mindful of faster traffic, keep right, be aware, use your mirrors and don't be stupid. Got it. Driving on the crazy freeways and roads here in Dallas, Texas make this look like a pleasurable drive!!!
Knowledge is power
Great information to fully enjoy this amazing track, Misha
Just want to say "thank you" for all the great video's you make.
Drove on it with my little old Clio, best drive I've ever had!
Thanks Misha! That was super helpful. My first and last lap of the Ring was with my Miata around 1997. I’ve been wanting to go again since discovering your & Robert’s channel. Unfortunately I find myself getting a little anxious just watching your POV footage, because the only thing running in the back of my head is all the fail vids I’ve seen of driving the Ring! After your vid I still want to go despite my that queasy tension in my stomach right now!😕😀
Thanks misha. Very informative for people on there first go for just a tourist drive. My first was the same but was very busy was a little scary them all coming up on me very fast.
Thank you so much! Will be going very soon so this is a very timely and educational Nurburgring Notdschleife 101 for first timers 🙏
Great video, as someone yet to take a lap it's very refreshing and informative to see your advice, lines and etiquette. There will be one more daily shitbox from the UK heading over when it is safe to do so!
Great video Misha, really helpful. Nice to know you can drive the ring without endangering your car or life.
Hey Misha, How is it going?
Your last post's of RingTraktor and Touristenfahrten in general motivated me to much man!!!
So yesterday morning,
i just stept in my completely standard 1.4 Ibiza6L and drove straight from The Netherlands (Zoetermeer) to Nurburg.
Man i was so slow at the track from the excitement but that didn't matter...
Sticked to the rules and enjoyed my time on track!
I had one of my best experiences in my life !!!
So thank you for motivating me to go to the Nurburgring.
Btw... Your video's are awesome and also very educational.
Keep on going !!!
Greetz, Melvin (ESRacing)
Awesome advice Misha ! Thanks for the knowledge mate 👍
Very informative lap on how to enjoy a fun safe lap with friends. Or your dog.
Thanks for that safe slow-speed overview. Most helpful!
Very reassuring video, thanks for the tips!
The German idea of slow driving never ceases to amaze me, lol. The relaxed drive for me would be 90 - 100 kph. Yes, I am a Bmw driver who hates driving on busy roads ... or driving. Period. But even driving like I normally do on the Nordschleife would be a great experience . Love that you filmed this on a normal car, not a muscle car. And that kubica video. 👏👏
Defo on my bucket list and this video just show that it's perfectly fine in your daily driver... cheers man👌😉
Watching this video is much more relaxing than even I imagined
Just cruising along a public road, chilling
Found this most helpful! Visited the ring for the first time ever, did two laps and had an amazing time.
Great video! Just moved to Germany. Looking forward to driving my MK7.5 Golf R to the ring. Great orientation on first timers.
Great video, full of simple but mandatory rules for everyone safety, and allowing you to enjoy this magnificent, and full of history, peace of road.
Congrats 😀
I would love to drive the Ring! Thanks for the video.
This man has glowed up in two years
MIsha your body transformation is insane looking back
I’m glad to own a mk4 tdi at this moment in time so I can take extra notice at you taking yours round for when I take mine round, always gotta take tips from the pro😉
Thanks again for the helpul insight and sharing of your expertise. I myself am eager to drive up to Nürburg from Switzerland to go for my first lap on the Ring in my 06' Cooper S JCW
i took on the ring a few days ago, kept to the right and it was fine. honestly, i enjoyed the backroads around the ring more, than the ring itself. maybe because it wasn't as stressful, but those roads are tight, with back to back hairpins. very fun 10/10, would go again.
Afternoon Misha thanks for another informative lap video
as always, very informative mate! thank you!
THanks for a great video i am going to the ring this June and i cant wait, i will be the one on the right side
Hey Misha this video is very useful i have never been at Nürbürgring or any track (yet :) ), i knew that i shall stay at right but while i was watching i also was questioning myself what i would do at that specific corner oh boy i was clueless at few of them. Have nice day btw!
Good to talk also about all the ones who wants to take advantage of the Ring at their pace... Good vidéo Misha
Thanks for the Video!!! also your Nurburgring viewpoint video was very helpful!!! heading out there soon for the first time.
Great video, i guess it‘s very interesting for your viewers because these are having the „biggest potential“ to be the next touristen drivers👍🏻
Thanks for the Video, gonna go there this Weekend. Looking forward to it 🥳
Excellent video with so much good advice.
Afternoon Carmrade👍 Well thrre cant be many slower than myself and i love the place. Can be intimidating at first but id say just be sensible like you said. If your mirrors empty then its not then theyre goin faster so move over asap and enjoy!
how did i miss this...
Thanks! great video and just what i was looking for!
I enjoyed watching this, very informative!
12:44 Best cupholders ever to be in a car. Sturdy, adjustable and as some other good things, they come in a pair of two!
wow the examples were really great. good video thank you very much!
Very helpful video! Thank you!
Your content is really useful.
Keep it up :)
Very nice video, love the examples. Stay safe back in Croatia :)
Brilliant guide Misha 🤙🏻
Good morning Misha!
If I could be anywhere in the world rn i would want to be at the nurb/ apex hotel-
One day soon I will be in the cockpit of the schirmer m3 with you as my co-pilot!
Stay Safe and stay frosty
Love from Los Angeles
Very informative video. This makes a lot of sense.
Those Mk2 Golfs and E36 M3’s are now so rare in England. Great memories from years ago.
Seriously have to to some laps when life is “normal” again.
Awesome instruction. 👌
Fantastic video as I’m going there this week, I found this video interesting thanks.
Saturday was going to be my first laps, but looks like it’s raining. Maybe next weekend. Thanks for the video, helpful!
Great video misha 👍🏻
Nice informative video Misha! Any TF novices would do well to watch it.
Great video Misha! 👍
Amazing video and helped settle my nerves, I’m heading there tomorrow to try a lap on my motorbike
Man, you really sparked my interest to come and do some sightseeing laps with my 900€ lemon/winterbeater Fabia from Munich. Know the track pretty well from numerous races in iRacing and also did 4 laps on a motorbike
Very nice lap showing you don't need to be a F1 driver to enjoy the Nordschleife. Nurburgring is on my bucket list.. one day it's my turn! :)
Amazing safety video. On the flip side, this is a great opportunity for a drinking game. Everytime he says stay to the right take a sip or shot!
Het belangrijkste is geregeld in je spiegels kijken wat er achter je aankomt. Mijn auto's zijn nog langzamer dan jou Golf, maar veel plezier beleeft met de rondes die ik gedaan heb.
weather your going fast or slow .. the ride seems so relaxing and calm with you... I can definitely see why people want you driving them around the track.
Vielen Dank für dieses Video. Ich habe keine Angst mehr, den Nürburgring zu fahren, da ich dachte, langsames Fahren sei schlecht und verursache Autounfälle.
Great video Misha!
Thank you for a great video. I am going for my first lap and after seeing the CZcams videos of aggressive racing and crashes it made me very nervous and anxious to drive around the track.
This has put me and I’m sure many others as ease that this is not the case and you can enjoy the Nordshlife in any car.
😍😍😍
That golf is probably going to be my first car u need to make it fast so i can copy u 😂😂😂
This is how you earn that ring sticker! :D
This is exactly how i would like to drive my first time on the Ring! Hug the right, indicate right when needed and book an instructor from Robert. I would’t want to cause excessive stress to my car at all, I just want to experience this track once in my life after watching so many of your video’s.
Micha, you don’t do instruction laps anymore?
Thank you for this video for the “slow and less experienced among us”.
Hey Misha, just wanted to drop a comment and say how much I'm enjoying your driving videos at Nürburgring. They're super fun to watch and so informative! I'm actually hoping to make my dream come true this April and drive at Nürburgring myself. I have a BMW M135i with everything stock, including the brakes and Continental tires. Do you have any tips for driving the track in a car like mine? Thanks so much for all the awesome and fun CZcams videos!
Went for the first time last year. Rented a track prepped hothatch and just stuck to the right. Found a experienced driver in a Tesla model 3 i could kinda keep up with and had a great experience. Only one time understeer😂
Can we have a video like this one of you driving one of the fast cars at their full potential. AND instructing us through the lap like you do with Shmee?
Planning on going this summer fod the first time. I'm so excited and terrified at the same time lol
bravo majstore. Pozdrav iz Ciriha
On my wish list still.
Next year my Nürburgring dream will come true😍😍😍😍😍
top vid keep up the good work
The only concern for me, is if you push the car to 200, 250+ KM/hour on straight road, how do I know when I need to break to approach the bend/what speed to enter the bend at?
Only people who hit this track consistently will know right?! At the same time, I’m worried about going too slow around the bend, and getting approached by cars who can approach the bend at double/triple my speed!
This is the cleanest golf 4 interior that I have ever seen
I Love your Videos😆
I recommend everyone to try first a game like Forza. So you get a feeling what difference it is, driving for example a Mini or a Lamborghini or even a race car. The difference in the fast sections is huge. Not like real driving but giving you an impression
Asetto corsa has servers that are just for cruising, but sadly it is limited to like 30 people and it's just mostly people in supercars ramming. But thats all I have.
Great video! Things I can understand, even that car XD
Good ideas for safe motoring, even OFF the Nurburgring!
This is the perfect introduction really.
love the content, as usual
very educational video
