Brookwood American Cemetery

Brookwood American Cemetery, located about 30 miles southwest of London, is the only American military cemetery in the United Kingdom commemorating lives lost during World War I.
Those who rest here were members of the American Expeditionary Forces who died in the British Isles or surrounding waters during the war.
Brookwood is one of two American military cemeteries in the U.K.; the other being Cambridge American Cemetery, a WWII cemetery.
Brookwood lies to the west of the large civilian Brookwood Cemetery, where military cemeteries and monuments of the British Commonwealth and other nations can be found.
Nearly 470 graves are located at the 4.5-acre Brookwood American Cemetery, surrounded by beautifully kept landscaping reminiscent of an English garden.
The American Battle Monuments Commission honors America's fallen service members and their stories at 26 overseas cemeteries and 31 monuments.
