    6/19/2021 USA Grandpa Bill: Peg and Awl: I thought I'd seen every pochade box on CZcams. I've spent weeks watching. Now, yours! I'm a 73-year-old woodworker with some leatherwork in the background. Your box has impressed and inspired me. Your woodwork is exquisite. Your leatherwork is also. Your thinking is so thorough and creative that you have made me want to buy one. Your quality deserves all the buyers you can get. I live on a fixed income as most senior citizens do, but in time I may save up enough. Yes, I can make one for my personal use, but your work deserves to be purchased. I'm really impressed. The video too.....Okay, I just took a break and looked at your other items, and now I'm out of my mind. Your work is truly high-class, hand-made, sweat-wrought, heirloom quality. Whew.

    This looks genius! It will be a purchase before the end of 2024, hopefully before my autumn trip to the Northern Adirondacks. Quick question though - if I wanted to paint on a paper larger than 4x6 would it be possible to clip onto it somehow? Not a deal breaker as i like the idea of the smaller size. But I am curious. You seem to have thought of everything here. And it's BEAUTIFUL!

  • @gillinacook1477
    @gillinacook1477 Před 3 lety +5

    This is a really cool painting box. Have you ever thought of making a wider one so people could choose a different size box and they wouldn’t have to cut up their brushes to fit.

      @margauxkent4038 Před 2 lety

      Hello Linnea! Apologies for my late reply - we have a palette option (instead of glass palette) for watercolours in the drop down, or you can purchase it in addition to the glass palette. Thank you for your interest!

    Thank you for sharing this with us. Quite lovely and useful. I would love to see the watercolor palette setup. Do full and/or half pans fit in the watercolor palette?

    • @PegandAwlBuilt
      @PegandAwlBuilt  Před 3 lety +2

      Thank you! We will have to make a video showing the watercolor palette. To your question - it is intended for tube or handmade watercolor (or other water-based) paints - full/half pans from existing sets will not fit.

    • @jessicathompson1456
      @jessicathompson1456 Před rokem

      I’d make my own paint box using Cracker Barrel mint trays or eye shadow flats and keep the paint/pans in there if you don’t like using tubes/fresh pigments. Use your imagination. I was wondering the same thing and will be using my homemade palettes for my watercolors, as that’s basically my medium of choice.

    Great little box
    Does it take larger panels than the ones shown?

    • @PegandAwlBuilt
      @PegandAwlBuilt  Před 3 lety +2

      Hello! This particular box is designed for 4x6 panels. The canvas support at the top only fully supports the 4x6 canvas, and the slots on the bottom half are made to store 4x6 panels. However, we are currently developing an 8x10 Plein Air Box - we will announce the launch through our email newsletter, which you can join on our website.

    What's the size rod does the bottom of the box accept for an easel attachment?

  • @zaidshah4535
    @zaidshah4535 Před 2 lety +2

    Way too expensive, takes away all the incentive fo somebody to purchase this. You could buy a sienna pochade box which is essentially the same thing with way more storage capacity, a bigger palette, and the ability to hold way bigger panels and full size brushes which are really important by the way because you never want to stand close to your painting and work it like you’re writing something. And a pochade box costs only 300-400 USD. I’m genuinely intrigued as to why somebody would buy this instead. Pochade boxes are also just as portable. The idea is pretty neat though.

    • @PegandAwlBuilt
      @PegandAwlBuilt  Před 2 lety +2

      Hello! It sounds like you are looking for a much larger pochade box - I hope you are enjoying the Sienna Pochade Box. Our Scout Plein Air Box is meant to explore a different avenue of plein air painting - the size has a lot to do with it, and is purposeful. ;) You can read some of the backstory of our Scout here: pegandawlbuilt.com/blogs/journal/en-plein-air-kit-preview

    Is it hard to find panels that will fit your box for painting on?

    • @PegandAwlBuilt
      @PegandAwlBuilt  Před 3 lety

      It is not! There are a lot of varieties of panels-but we are now stocking custom made Ampersand panels for Gesso (for oil and acrylic) and aqua for watercolour!
