Excellent demo and playing. I have had a Galaxie 4 for 3 years now and I play it more than anything else I have. Pickups have their own very unique sound and really sing. Surf? Hell, yes! But anything else you want to play works excellently too.
Stays nicely in tune even when working the tremolo regularly.

It looked so great in all the ads & reviews in the guitar press back then.

My uncle passed away a few years ago and left me his DiPinto, I'd never heard of the brand always played strats in the past but I've been pleasantly surprised at how well this plays and how it stays in tune.

New Comment on old post. The world really is small. I watch your uploads often over here on the East Coast of USA + never expected to see a guitar from a shop that I've done business with + is 40 mins from my home town. Very cool indeed !

    Galaxie ala Galanti Grand Prix.
Love both but I only have an original 1967 Galanti/Goya S-2 which is just a Grand Prix that's rebranded for the US market.
The Italians knew how to design the best gear, excellent amps and pedals too!.

excellent demo, probably the best ive ever seen, thank you so much for demonstrating each pickup and even putting fuzz and OD in front of it, jeez people rarely do that.
you should definitely get paid to demo.
im saving up to buy this and i was skeptical of whether it was really just a surf guitar or if it could handle almost anything nicely.
and now ive gotta scrounge up 600 bucks.

of all the guitars to be inspired by the jazzmaster, this is probably the coolest and most practical one. in fact, it's probably more practical and easier to play than jazz or a jaguar. but i like the fact that they have four pickups just to add a touch of ridiciulousness.

it's hard to tell from the demo, but how similar is the neck pickup to a strat's? i like all the sounds you get, but the pickups sound really fat and almost p90ish. this is great (especially for the bridge), but i was hoping for a mellower strat sound out of the neck!

@jimmypagefan13 I have a hottrodded Dipinto K&A with the same neck. It plays smooth and is very easy on the hands. I was unfortunately born with small hands so being a lead guitar player I have obstacles with LP necks and such. The neck on this and all of the other Dipinto guitars are great. You would not be dissapointed.

You say the vibrato system is like a Jazzmaster system, but it actually works. Don't know if you've actually had experience with one before, but I have owned quite a few Jaguars and Jazzmasters and find them to be much more consistently stable then strat-style tremolos. I think the stability depends more on the bridge being used in conjunction with the vibrato unit than the unit itself. By the way, thanks in part to this video I've decided to acquire one of these. I'm quite excited.

You can custom order from Dipinto.
But yeah, why lose the neck because of the headstock? I'd say you need a different look or a different guitar. This model has very specific cosmetics. If you don't like the shape of the headstock, I don't know what can be done. Personally, I was so caught up in the playing and the variety of sounds that I didn't even notice if the guitar had a headstock or not!
