  • At 4:30pm North Vancouver Emergency crews were called to Lynn Canyon Park for reports of a swimmer in distress. When RCMP arrived they found an 18 year old male in 90 foot pool clinging to a rock. The Officers used a bullhorn and were trying to talk with the male while Firefighters attempted to make their way down. While the RCMP were talking with the male he lost his grip on the rock and was swept under the water. Fire crews spent several hours searching for the male but were unsuccessful The RCMP Dive Team has been called to recover the body. Fire crews from North Vancouver City, North Vancouver District, and West Vancouver were at the scene.

Lynn canyon is only swimmable in summer days . No rapids , water less cold and shallow.

Well I assume he was in the first pool of circuit during March spring time the currents high you should really only do circuit during summer time i cliff jump I think if your a tourist and you really want to come cliff jumping at Lynn canyon stay to 30 ft pools unless you have a death wish even if you live in north Vancouver and your coming cliff jumping for your first time go with someone who is a local and knows the area really well and has done most of the jumps there

Stupid ideas, come to tragic outcomes sometimes - especially when swimming into a rapid (I believe).
