  • My latest radio is the Motorola Mototrbo R7. These radios are work horses and very durable. Being that they are commercial / professional radios, they are more expensive, but in this case, you do get your money's worth.

Considered "Commercial Professional" grade, this radio provides outstanding service in a very durable device. If you have any Motorola radios, leave us a note and tell us what you think about them.

I have a bunch of them including (2) 7550e's , 6550 and a bunch of HT1250's. Excellent radios to use for Ham Radio, built like a tank. I had to buy the Mototrbo CPS back a few years ago, but it is indeed free to download now. You just have to create a Motorola account first. Too program them for wide on ham radio you have to get an Entitlement which is also free. They are well worth the investment if you like a high quality piece of equipment.

Currently have the XPR5550/7550e and XTS 5k VHF. 2500 UHF. Can’t beat the quality of Motorola 🔥

Just got one. Incredible. Audio quality cannot be beat. Feels like you could take it into battle and it would survive. Not easy to program, however.

Just a quick point. The antenna connector is not a SMA. It is proprietary to Moto and is their MX thread connector. You can buy adapters though.
