Awesome video Jeff!! That’s really cool of you to change your mind on Fair Warning, 👏👏it’s definitely an album that gets better with each listen and it took me a few dozen times to realize how much i loved it, great section here , a few will definitely be making my list! 👍🤘🤘
Hi Jeff!!! another cool installment and things keeps getting better and harder..... I think yoiu're right about VH's "Fair Warning" it's a grower and with some of the heaviest song in their catalogue. Hahaha the good ol' days cutting classes to get a new record, try to explain that to Millennial kid. cheers and be well
A couple of giants here with Fair Warning and Aftermath but all good. I like the one takes. Women and Children First and Fair Warning have been my favorite VH albums for quite some time but honestly I love all of them. Great video!
Another great list of albums . Here's my 40 - 31 list : Robert Palmer : Secrets Leon Russell : Carney Deep Purple : Fireball The Cars : Heartbeat City The Ugly Ducklings : Somewhere Outside. ( a great 60s Canadian garage band ) Bruce Cockburn : Salt Sun & Time Gordon Lightfoot : Sundown Emerson Lake & Palmer : Emerson Lake & Palmer Cat Stevens : Catch Bull at Four Van Morrison : Moondance Thanks !
I also was aware of Peter Gabriel from his "weird" videos, but I enjoyed the songs themselves. One day in high school (circa '83-'84), a friend's brother was getting rid of some cassettes he no longer wanted, and I was more than happy to take free music off his hands. One of them was PG's 3rd album ("Melt", the one with "Games W/Out Frontiers"), and my mind was blown. Popping that cassette into my Walkman, and hearing the opening track "Intruder", with the sounds bouncing between my left and right headphone . . . I was mesmerized. I got his other solo stuff, and was more than ready to snatch up "So" when it was released. Phenomenal album. Although I have NEVER liked "Big Time". I don't know - I found the lyrics and topic very average/pedestrian, which were words I would not have previously associated with PG. And then, to have the song end on a dick joke - I'd be happy to never hear that one again. When I saw him perform it on his latest tour, I couldn't believe it - with his incredible catalog, he was playing that song. PS - Another cassette in that bunch was ELO's "A New World Record". ANOTHER classic that I fell in love with!
Hey Jeff! Check you email, I sent you the gift card for winning my contest. I cut school on many the occasion to get a new album on the day of release. I think this may have the most I won, a big 7 out of 10 for this leg of the race. Congrats!
REM So many great albums
Mary Anne With the Shaky Hand has been in my head for days! Desolation Row, killer Dylan tune. Another good episode Jeff!
Thanks Sam!

Thanks brother! I think it started when I did my Fair Warning deep dive and the album sounded way better than I remember.

Murmur was my runaway # 1 album of 1983 & what a debut. Pilgrimage my favorite track. It's a really special album.

Thanks Tom! Big Time sounds so out of place on So. I need to catch up on some of PG’s more recent work.
