This happened to me! I had about 10 minutes extra and the lady pretty much insisted I open a savings account, which would just take a second and only take moving the funds. Next thing I know I'm whisked off to an office in the back and watching the day fly by.
Debenhams do that too. Everytime you buy something, they telll you how lovely the thing you bought is ( no matter how boring it is ) and ask you do you know about their credit card.
HA! When I applied for a credit card (which my bank promised me when I changed branches 3 and a half years ago) I got no fewer than TWO letters of rejection. And no trips to sleepy German towns either! Bastards.
When people cold call you at home ,say ,"i'll just get them", leave the phone on the table for five /ten minutes(Or go for a short walk),that should be enough,to piss them off.
people who have been to Chernobyl seem to quite like it its missing one of main drawbacks most place have locals, theirs still other tourists but you can't have everything
This is weird. I've never had a credit card application take longer than 60 seconds on a website. Usually I'm approved straight away, or occasionally after a short phone call.
i'm surprised the comments here haven't descended into a discussion on Germany in WWII and maybe the Holcaust with the sad but predictable elements of anti-semitism thrown in
Brilliant sketch! Still laughing at "you've been gone 5 years"!! 😂😂😂
"...free weekend to Dusseldorf" "There's nothing there Geoff it's just a german town" LOL
Nice river.
@@2gooddrifters everywhere except Saudi Arabia has got a nice river
Also don't forget the excellent Jazz fusion scene😂
If I had a nickel for every time I'd left a bank and ended up in Düsseldorf...
(Okay, it's where I live, but still. Give me your nickels, damnit!)
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Is there a thriving jazz fusion scene?
Is it nice there? Anything historic to visit?
Haha 🐈🤣
What's it like, there?
Are you sure that’s how you spell Dusseldorf? 😅 Excellent!
Nearly died when the sketch ended and a credit card ad started.... Well done algorithm!
The long marble room is also used in the 'just under two drinks' sketch in Mitchell & Webb
Think I've seen it in a few things, now you mention it...usually police dramas.
Pretty sure it was used in The Death of Stalin too

Omg
Now it's 6 years later and you're still there.
See--- have they transferred the money yet?
"we don't just hand them out like sweets"
Oh yes you do.
Geez they put some money into that sketch ! Great job.
I hear it has a thriving jazz fusion scene.
I'm on my way.......
Man, that went a lot deeper than I thought it was going to. 😂
I hear it has a thriving jazz fusion scene
I love these documentaries!
Stuff of nightmares. I need to get somewhere but I cannot
Yes. I'm so stressed watching this.
Classic, reminds me of so many marketing offers!
The scene with the three bankers reminded me of The Prisoner. I am not a number, I am a free man !
Excellent! Now then, guys - who's up for helping me organise a weekend to Dusseldorf for us all? I hear it has a thriving jazz fusion scene . . .
Martin Mitchell And you really have GOT to try the mustard!
Count me in! I just need to sort out my new credit card first...
crying laughing when the bank guy says about the thriving jazz fusion scheme, nearly died :')
It's true, I once saw the Rippingtons and The Yellowjackets perform there.
* scene
This is up there with Half-Price Pots. Brilliant.
Yes, similar scenario.
That was acted so well that I could feel his anxiety.
Gerard did well for himself.
brilliant - happened to me at a service station on the way from manchester to london; my very hurried scrawl was so bad it got refused!
Genius sketch 👍
Health and safety hazard that! The self-closing door was an emergency exit!
Dickens would have loved this I think!
This is gold!
Platinum even 😁
this was dark as fuck.
They've really got some TARDIS Tech in this bank
It’s nice to see Gerrard in his early days at JLB credit
and without the tube
I agree, credit card screws your life.
When you think you have had enough, there'll always be a little ray of hope in it.
Debenhams do that too. Everytime you buy something, they telll you how lovely the thing you bought is ( no matter how boring it is ) and ask you do you know about their credit card.
Not anymore, Smith.
Not anymore...
I like that after being left at the alter by Geoff, Carol worked hard on herself and managed to do better for herself than if she had married Geoff.
The Aussie guy is Renton Skinner (Angelos Epithemiou)!
This was hilarious.
HA! When I applied for a credit card (which my bank promised me when I changed branches 3 and a half years ago) I got no fewer than TWO letters of rejection. And no trips to sleepy German towns either! Bastards.
It's funny because sometimes credit card applications can take a long time to fill out.
Shades of "Brazil"
I'm getting stressed watching this.
My man wanted to have a normal life without having previously taken out a credit card, oh my days..
Painful...simply painful
She met a man in Brussels, six foot 4 and full of muscle :3
Tucked into her Vegemite sandwich.
Nice video clip.
This sketch really stressed me out!
When people cold call you at home ,say ,"i'll just get them", leave the phone on the table for five /ten minutes(Or go for a short walk),that should be enough,to piss them off.
Chris yes good work, same here.
Does anywhere know where the long marble room is? it was also used in Mitchell and Webb inebriati, and a lot of other shows. Somewhere in London?
It's in Düsseldorf I believe.
Quite Kafkaesque
😍 somebody here read Kafka! I'm so pleased 😊 yep it reminded me of him as well 😂😂
@@MyNewEra2012 joker or wanker?
The scene when he enters the waiting room reminds me of the monty python milkman sketch.
Yes! I hadn't thought of that. But you're dead right. VERY Kafkaesque @
Very so!
I went into Lloyds bank about 10 years ago and this happened to me, the woman just would`nt stop 😕
Billy Liar machine gun fantasy scene appropriate.
She’s from Iran.
Comedy sketch written by Kafka!
Very clever!
Is it just me, or was the Australian guy angelos epithemiou?!
Nice
"Gut Luck."
@87SaL87 AGREED!!!!!
I MUST GO TO DUSSELDORF
I hear it has a thriving jazz fusion scene.
@@DavidJJames It's just a town in Germany, James.
Is that Dan Renton Skinner (AKA Angelos Epithemiou) at the end?
Ashley Mayes it is well spotted
Why does this seem so freaking familiar?
I think it depends on your bank, your daily limit etc. It may be possible to take out 400 pounds in two transactions.
Düsseldorf? _Seriously?_
Why not give him a ride to Chernobyl while you're at it?!
people who have been to Chernobyl seem to quite like it its missing one of main drawbacks most place have locals, theirs still other tourists but you can't have everything
Don't diss Chernobyl. I've been there, it's amazing.
Does anybody else see Matthew Perry in that face? 1:05
A bit aye
I've never owned a credit card
That guys hair is ridiculous.
You can't take out £400 from an ATM.
Man the exact same thing happened to me at the bank. I just wanted to change my account and this bitch kept pressuring me to apply for a credit card.
Heres some debt for you
never had one never want one. the money doesn't exist in the first place.
It's brilliant but just too manic! I couldn't watch it all!
Lol!
Those were the days, now the banks cancel your account, without explanation, functionally cancelling you life
I look forward to that sketch!
This is too close to the way that banks really operate to be funny.
This is weird. I've never had a credit card application take longer than 60 seconds on a website. Usually I'm approved straight away, or occasionally after a short phone call.
Yes, they're pretty good at spotting cash cows.
Hasn't he heard of ATMs?
In the UK most current accounts have a £250-£300 daily maximum withdrawal limit at ATMs. He needed £400.....he had to go in.
I had thought that this shit was only in Russia)
Quick question though :who uses tellers to withdraw cash in banks these days? Were all the machines bust? 😉
A cash point probably wouldn't let you take out £400
Quick question though; who says 'tellers' when talking about 'cashiers'? i don't think Arnie ever would
Sorry I’m not really interested
why are there no bbc programmes about a black dominated society in 2050?
