Same. She used to be great at sharing her historical knowledge and applying it to the present situation in particular. I loved her "Ultra" podcast and the book she wrote covering the same topic. I learned a lot of history from her that should have been taught in public schools, but wasn't. Like how much of the modern day Christian nationalist rhetoric has its roots in literal N*zi propaganda written and dispersed in America (with the right's help) during WW2. Or how Christian nationalists tried to take over our government before, how they carried out terrorist acts on American soil, made a mockery of the court system, and did all the things they're trying to do again right now.
History is repeating itself, and Rachel knows that better than almost anyone. So why has she suddenly flipped into focusing on Biden's age nonstop when his opponent is only a few years younger and is literally causing that horrible history to repeat? Is Rachel afraid of losing her job? Or is it something else? Because there's no way I believe for even a second that she sees Trump as preferable to Biden. She knows how dangerous Trump is, and she needs to go back to connecting those dots for other Americans who also weren't taught that history. It was, in no small part, thanks to a few determined journalists that the Christofascists of the WW2 era failed to take over America. What will happen if the media closes its eyes this time around?
