Estonia (where race is take place) Latvia and Lithuania have very old history of building such race cars. All that starts about 15 years ago, when off-road racers realize that stock 4x4 cars and parts isn't strong enough to hold such pressure. 15 years ago racers start to use MB UNIMOG axles, they where good, but very heavy - sport car weight was about 2,3 tons ( about 5000 lbs). After that everybody have start to use Volvo C303 (Laplnader) axles. Sport car weight was about 1,8 -2 tons (about 4000 lbs). In nowadays days sport car weight is about 1,3-1,8 tons (2900-4000 lbs) In those years very big experience is accumulated. People start to make aluminium frame body for cars, use smaller but powerful engines, home made gear boxes, winches, also home made axles with portals. If you take more search for off-road history in our region you will find many interesting things from past. Also you can find many old videos in my channel from that time.

The only race where you don't want to be second to the first mud hole. 🤣
They do 10 circles of same lap in about 3 hours. They will hit those holes multiple times.
Great vid, at first I was surprised that some of these trucks had open differentials at the front, then I noticed that some of them had open differentials at the rear and was shocked.
Why aren't these trucks locked up front and rear or running spools?
All cars have locking differentials. Drivers choose to lock them or keep them open.
Ok, if they have selectable diffs that makes sense.
