Hey I'm not judging you I had a pike over 40 inches hit my net rig using 6 pound test and the lightest jig possible and brand it up to the boat lmao my dad was to slow for the net tried to swing it lmao I just know from experience grab the net haha
You can pause it just right and see it's not a 10. Go look at any picture of a 10, it's quite a bit bigger. Like you said, it's more in the 7, 8 max range. That extra 2-3lb's is quite a lot.

Nephew and I kayak fish and usually within eye or ear shot of each other and if somebody gets hold of a nice one, the other one hauls ass over because even landing a 5lber from a kayak can be tough so we cover each other in case we can't land it alone.
