The reason why the marines in the pod all died in halo CE is because chief didn’t sit down and so was flung around inside the pod like a pinball machine killing all the marines on impact. The more you know.

I played on heroic because I wanted a challenge but not an aneurism. Also it's not that the game is stingy with the checkpoints but they're glitchy as hell and plenty of times they just don't trigger for some reason
This unfortunately happens in every single game in the original trilogy...especially Halo 3.
It’s really the luck of the draw. I gave up on Legendary because the game refused to give me a checkpoint during the Regret boss fight, and I just couldn’t beat that part in one go.

I actually never fought Tartarus in hand to hand combat. I always took the bangee with me inside. It actually stays inside even after cut scene. You have to shoot off your wings a little but you can fly through the rubble in the door.

Obviously a late comment, but apparently in lore: Master Chief was actually on a ledge or something which he was actually the push of the button away from ending the war, but a Jackal Sniper shot him and he fell down and was shot by Truth's "Prophet Beam" and managed to escape again. This happened between Halo 2 and Halo 3.
Proof that Heroic is canon: he didn't die.
During the Boss fight you dont actually have to wait for Johnson. Just a beam rifle, rapid fire 3 times, then use other weapons. It was something they did without ever telling you that you could do it.
I just got him in an infinite loop of dual needler supercombines until the game decided he had had enough

This is the reason why Halo 2 is THE VERY BEST Halo game ever
they actually hired REAL screenwriters for the cutscenes, the levels are balanced and challenging, the game follows a more realistic story, the characters are a lot more simpathetic and the story grows on you deeply with all the work it takes to keep you interested

Halo 2 Legendary is... A nightmare. They knew people would try to cheap out and do Co-op. So they made sure you were still going to suffer no matter how many friends you brought with you.
It's not a nightmare. It's Legendary. It's not supposed to be easy. It's supposed to be "legendarily" difficult, and it's really not even that. It requires patience and persistence. Even if you choose to quit for a while, the worst case is you go back to the beginning of whatever level you're on.
I have a feeling you guys complaining about Legendary H2 would try to self-delete if you actually played tough games from the 1980s and early 1990s. Beating SMB (no save states) is tougher. AVGN isn't eviscerating all those older games just for the show. They are legitimately difficult.

The other games were tough but fair in legendary (ce, 3, and odst). 2 makes you a weak piece of sh@t, enemies shoot FASTER than you, sniper jackals have pinpoint accuracy with jedi reflexes, vehicles are weaker by your mere presense, wome flood have goddam energy shields, and only snipers n br are reliable weapons.
Yeah, the weird cliffhanger wasn't even originally intended by the devs, they were just really short on time despite crunching.
And recently story boards came out showing some of what was planned. Pretty much a condensed H3 but the Ark, not a teleporter to the Ark, is on earth and forerunners were going to be revealed to be ancient humans. Also more focused on the threat of the covenant than the threat of the flood.

I will say that one of the ways to make legendary difficulty easier is to properly equip your squad mates with precision and power weapons. It was... horrifying watching the marines you rescue on High Charity chew everything but hunters for breakfast with covenant carbine barrages
Best campaign ever. It’s a shame they had to cut roughly 33% of the story because of time crunches
I haven't finished all the games yet, but out of the original trilogy this one is my favorite, even if it didn't end how I wished it would

The vehicle sections are never long nor very enjoyable as the tank is slow as fuck and every vehicle looks like crap after looking at it the wrong way

I did Coop with a friend for halo 2 we both saw that halo 5 scene and it confused the hell out of us and I thought they added halo 5 to the collection and I somehow accidentally selected it
A friend and I are trying to complete this on LASO. This video made me laugh and cry in equal measure...
Now, just imagine doing the Gravemind level in coop Legendary in less than 20 minutes, because it is the time objective on HALO MCC PC for this level... It took us months of practice... 343 Devs are crazy

10:15 Captain Y position was originally holding one of soggy churro's tentacles but the HD version shows her holding metal wire. It is much more likely that soggy churro was ready to get a hold of whoever grabbed the index so that he could prevent the activation of the ring. This is further suggested by the fact that he grabbed Arbiter when Arbiter fell down the hole, meaning soggy churro was there all along, and guaranteed to catch whoever fell to the bottom of the hole above the index. The HD version made a subtle change that effects the story.
13:46 Brute plasmas not only stun lock 343 big monkey, but also damage him through his barrier. If I recall, you are given allies at the beginning of the boss fight, and if you position 343 big monkey correctly, Johnson can snipe off his barrier while elites whale on him with swords, and you keep him from attacking by using said brute plasmas. Bonus stun locking power if you have a friend to assist with the stun locking.
Your first comment is not correct, it was always a wire, never a tentacle of the Gravemind's.
That explains why the last time I played that level I finished the boss fight in seconds! I didn't know the brute plasmas did that, I just grabbed one cuz I was out of ammo on my beam rifle and really wanted to be done and that's exactly what happened. I kept blasting him with the brute plasma and the allies sliced him to ribbons with their energy swords. 20 seconds tops.

The original graphics are way scarier for the flood levels. 343 really messed up the lighting and atmosphere with the remaster for both CE and 2 when it came to the flood. Glad we have the option to play on OG graphics.

Lol definitely the best story but the gameplay is still kind of whacked up but somehow it’s still fun to play on legendary because Of all the really good gameplay areas, so ye it’s perfect the only problem is things like sniper jackals wich I actually think are fine and so is everything else but then it becomes not fine when you die by them and halo 2 checkpoints sucks. So ye the only problem in halo two is the checkpoints and it’s not long enough, other than that it’s perfect and even has aniversry.

@@jetthejudgehalo three sniper jackals are totally fine even if they have far range, but they don’t spawn in big groups besides on that first mission wich is closer quarters and not open space so there is cover, and they don’t ya ce ungodly aim. I agree that they are hard but not unreasonably, where as in halo 2 they are unpredictable and shoot you while it looks like they are looking to the side , and they have ungodly aim so they are likely to hit you at the first shot making you more likely to have to memorize the spawns, where as in halo three they aimed to make each encounter different every play through wich they did well at. So ye they are hard but I like that and they implemented it well. But Though I am ok with the halo two sniper jackals I now agree they could be better and they are a big error in halo 2. Also in halo infinite I think it would be AWSOME If halo infinite sniper jackals were mini boss fights like hunters I mean imagine you hear a loud sharp piercing sound and the wall besides you spits out a cloud of debris now that the sniper should be portrayed as a weapon as powerful as it is. So once that shot misses every time they will only spawn when cover is near it if your playing a more linear area than there will always be cover, so with your weapons you could either kill the sniper jackal and take the sniper, wich I think should be a power weapon that will be much more useful than the other games but if you don’t have the right weapons or the guts to kill it you could run past them. I think the encounter itself will be the most important thing, where they will move around and spawn in trees and rooftops, but every once and a while they could shoot randomly, get closer to you, farther away from you and then when they are at low health they will pop out deplorable cover which will give away their spot because the whole time they will be camouflaging with only their headsets glow to give you a small indicator to where they are.
