Thank you, Signe, for addressing the “too hot for a blazer” issue! Help me with this conundrum. If I wear a terrific coat and bag to elevate my look, I look great on the metro but what happens when I arrive at a restaurant or to work and take the coat off and put my bag away? It feels like any element that doesn’t stay on your body all day, shouldn’t count as part of the outfit. I see very few videos admit this flaw in the formula or at least work within it.
Great point! That’s why I felt the need to mention hair, jewelry and even accessories as part of the formula because most of these (except things like bags and sunnies) can stay on as a more fixed part of your outfit through the day! 🙏🏻

I love mixing casual with dressy in one outfit, too! It makes the whole vibe not too lazy and not too deliberate. bags, shoes, and jewelry/accessories are truly statement making items. When these items are quality and interesting, ppl always compliment my outfit.

That green coat is stunning no wonder you are eager to feature it! I think the more I think about the pieces I own and the colour combos as well as other ways to enhance or neutralize things the more fun it is to be creative!
That green coat IS a find. I realized I have a duster cardigan in that color and never thought to wear it with a white T and black jeans. I will now! The 2 x 2 rule really helps make dressing easier
I love this! I teach preschool and have a staff shirt. This is giving me some ideas to have a bit more personality in my outfits
My dominant style is androgynous but I love adding in feminine elements like wearing makeup and jewellery. I think it's a subtle way to do the 2x2 formula to fit my personal style and lifestyle.

This my work if your wardrobe is all well coordinated plain neutrals, but if you wear colours and prints you also need to coordinate these to avoid clashes, mismatches, and a jumbled mess.
I think I am having trouble understanding what is casual and elegant. The outfits are great but Everything seemed very casual to me.
Just go with your idea of casual and Elegant!
Usually my dressy pieces would be something like a blazer, a classic shirt, a pair of heeled boots, a classic coat etc. but of course even these come in slightly more casual versions because it also comes down to fit, material etc. But like I say in the video, I think really what makes the 2x2 rule so powerful is the contrast between the pieces you’re wearing. So including at least two contrasting pieces (like classic + casual or even romantic + casual) with each other is what I really love and I think it makes me more creative with my wardrobe. It makes me open up my eyes for new combinations 😊

I know wearing very casual items is popular and really the norm now, but there are few that I really like to wear myself. I hate jeans, athletic wear and most trousers (my silk joggers or knit pants excepted). I’m also not a big fan of sneakers, I don’t like the look of them with my daily wear of dresses or skirt outfits. I try to dress down as much as I can by wearing cotton shirts, t-shirts, etc., but absolutely everyone else wears only black or gray 100% synthetic, tight athletic clothes every day, the more ragged, the better, so I don’t fit in. Then the women all wear thick makeup, false eyelashes and super-styled, big hair with fake hairpieces and every expensive item of jewelry they possess. I don’t get it, how is that “easy and comfortable”? I don’t bother with all that, never have. That depressing dark gym uniform, even with the fancy extras, destroys all the fun of fashion, which is one of my biggest creative pursuits.
Everywhere I go, there you are with your negative comments on videos. Always comparing yourself favourably to everyone else, whose style you see as inferior. Give it a rest.

Believe it or not, everyone doesn’t walk around with their phone in their hand. When I’m out, my phone is in my bag. So…. a watch is not useless. You be your judgmental self and let others choose for themselves.
